Bengals star Trey Hendrickson 'to end holdout Wednesday and report to training camp without new contract'
The NFL's final training-camp holdout is coming to an end. Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson will make his return to the Queen City for Wednesday's practice, and he'll do so without the new contract he'd been hoping to secure before the season, according to ESPN. As reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Hendrickson's return serves as a 'good-faith gesture' to reignite dormant negotiations. Daily Mail has reached out to Hendrickson's agent for comment. Hendrickson, who is due to earn $16 million in the final year of his contract this season, has publicly expressed his desire for a contract extension in Cincinnati. And when camp started last week, the All-Pro highlighted his distance from the team by posting a photo from Florida online. The team recently got some good news about its other holdout, first-round pick Shemar Stewart, who has now signed his rookie deal and joined teammates at training camp after squabbling with the front office over language in the contract. The team was in need of help along the defensive line after the retirement of another defensive end, popular Cincinnati-area native Sam Hubbard. The Bengals have also faced a salary cap crunch since signing quarterback Joe Burrow's favorite targets Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to contract extensions totaling $276 million this offseason. Currently the two star receivers account for less than 17 percent of the team's cap figure, but that number balloons to more than 20 percent in 2028, making a long-term deal for Hendrickson a bit more complicated. Hendrickson signed an extension in 2023 that will keep him in tiger stripes through the 2025 season, where he will make a base salary of $15.8 million and count for $18.6 million against Cincinnati's cap number. Prior to the draft, the Bengals gave Hendrickson permission to seek a trade, but within weeks those talks were off the table, according to Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The former Florida Atlantic standout sounded optimistic about a new deal in early April despite struggling to come to terms with the Bengals. 'I wouldn't call it frustrating,' Hendrickson told WLWT Cincinnati. 'It gives me an opportunity to prove my worth every season.' The four-time Pro Bowl selection recorded 18 sacks in each of his last two seasons in Cincinnati, where he signed in 2021. 'I've been able to achieve All-Pro honors, Pro Bowl honors,' he told WLWT in March. 'It's been a heck of a ride and to play with some of the most talented players in the league like Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Sam Hubbard, Logan Wilson, BJ Hill, I could list every player, Ted Karras is on that list too. 'I'm just tremendously blessed, the relationships I've made. How ever it shakes out, there's nowhere I'd rather be.'

Create Account Emily Nutley, a 43-year-old married mother of three, was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison after she pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery in April, local media reported. Nutley was facing a maximum penalty of five years for each offence. Authorities said Nutley was working as a teacher and instructor at St. Xavier High School in suburban Springfield Township during the 2023 fall semester. Her role was to supervise a program that assisted students struggling with academics. The victim, a 17-year-old boy at the time, had been assigned to the program as part of the school's 'multi-tiered system of support.' 'It was during this time that Nutley began to have additional contact with the victim outside of school hours,' the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said in a statement last October. She also allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim in her officer after school hours. 'When the victim attempted to stop the encounters, Nutley continued to contact the victim via text messages,' prosecutors alleged at the time. RECOMMENDED VIDEO School administrators learned of the teacher's alleged conduct following an internal investigation. Police were soon notified and a criminal probe was launched, leading to her being charged with six counts of sexual battery. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. 'This is absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible conduct from an adult towards a minor child,' Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers said at the time of the charges. 'This child was in need of help and guidance but instead found an adult looking to act out her perverted sexual desires.' Nutley spoke at her sentencing hearing, pointing out the significant work she has done to rehabilitate herself after losing her career and marriage, and added there's 'no excuse' for what she did. 'I crossed a line that should never have been crossed,' she said, according to NBC affiliate WLWT. 'I think every day about the impact of my actions. I've lost my husband, my home, my friends. I've caused harm and embarrassment to my children.' Toronto & GTA World Toronto Blue Jays Toronto & GTA World

Braxton Brewing Co. to take over Hi-Wire Brewing's Norwood taproom at Factory52
Braxton Brewing Company is taking over Hi-Wire Brewing's taproom in Norwood, making it the the fifth location in the growing craft brewer's portfolio. Covington-founded Braxton Brewing will transition the Hi-Wire's taproom at Factory52 into one of its own after both companies made the "mutual growth transition," according to a news release. The taproom will be temporarily closed until sometime in June for renovations. Braxton Brewing said it will retain current Hi-Wire employees from the Factory 52 location and several Hi-Wire beers will remain on tap. In addition, Braxton Brewing is taking over the green-space and full-service bar in front of the brewery, which they are calling The Porch. The brewery plans to continue offering family-friendly programming and events in the green space, including movie nights and pop-up events. The departure of Asheville, North Carolina-based Hi-Wire's northernmost taproom comes after Hurricane Helene destroyed much of the brewery's headquarters, flagship taproom and distribution warehouse in September 2024. "We had to look at our business and figure out the best path forward without knowing how we would recover from the flood," Hi-Wire co-founder Adam Charnack said in the news release. "We had to think about how to ensure the health of the business, and that meant making some hard choices." Hi-Wire opened its Cincinnati-area taproom in 2023, following expansions across North Carolina and in Louisville, Kentucky; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Nashville. Braxton Brewing recently opened a new location in Union, Kentucky in November.
