Inflatable whale the venue for kids show in Stone
More than 240 kids and parents have enjoyed an entertaining and educational theatre performance - inside an 18 metre-long inflatable sperm free puppetry show was delivered at Westbridge Park in Stone, Staffordshire, by all-female theatre company Circo Rum Ba aged eight, was among those who allowed their imagination to be swept away in the illusion of the "underwater" performance."We've just rescued a turtle from eating plastic," she said. When asked what she had learned from the show, she replied: "We should never put trash in the sea."We could use the trash and make it into something different." The one-day event on Tuesday was organised and funded by Stone Town authority's events organiser Lindsay Fleetwood explained the show was one of a number of free activities the council had provided for young people in the town over recent years."We appreciate the challenges involved in keeping the kids entertained without spending a fortune and without having to travel," she said.A long queue of families waited patiently for the six performances that were held during the course of the Fleetwood said she was pleased that people left each performance having "thoroughly enjoyed it", with a heightened awareness of the issue of plastics in the ocean. Sea creatures Five-year-old Max watched the show as part of his summer holiday trip from Norfolk to visit his fully understood the message of the performance, saying: "We shouldn't leave plastic down at the sea because lots of sea creatures could get stuck in it."The youngster described Circo Rum Ba Ba's show as "hot, light and sort of dark."

Interactive whale to teach Lincolnshire children about ocean
An interactive inflatable whale will be touring parts of Lincolnshire to help children learn about the ocean and how to protect installation, called The Whale – Plastic Ocean, will visit Grantham, Bourne, Stamford and the Deepings in March and inside the 18m-long (59ft) sperm whale, children will be taught about the impact of plastic on the environment by taking part in missions and watching Paul Stokes said: "It will be a fantastic opportunity for residents to connect with the ocean, enjoy a talented theatre performance and learn more about the ways we can all protect one of our most valuable natural resources." There will be puppet and comedy shows, as well as performances from female theatre company Circo Rum Ba Ba and an acrobatic aged three and above will be able to step inside the belly of the inflatable sperm whale, where they will watch a performance involving a mission to save an ancient leatherback turtle. The free event will take place at the Recreation Ground in Stamford on 15 and 16 March and at The Red Hall in Bourne on 22 and 23 whale will also visit Jubilee Park in Deeping St James on 29 and 30 March and Grantham's market place on 17 and 18 May.
