OKC Thunder unveil 2025-26 City Edition uniform and alternate court
Back by popular demand, fair to say the Oklahoma City Thunder have nailed their 2025-26 City Edition uniforms and alternate court. The NBA and Nike themed this upcoming season with a throwback design of previous fan-favorite jerseys over the years. For the Thunder, they went back to their 2018-19 City Edition uniform, which honored the state's Native American heritage. Russell Westbrook and Paul George wore the uniform that was quickly beloved by OKC fans. Now, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren will do the same with their spin on it, as it has a different shade of blue as its main color. The Thunder will debut the uniform during their annual Native American Heritage Night game on Wednesday, Nov. 19, against the Sacramento Kings. The Thunder also released a 2025-26 City Edition alternate court design. It will be paired with the uniform. Starting on Dec. 5, each Friday home game will be designated as a City Nights game. The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the most iconic uniform designs in all of sports. The design has seen some tweaks over the years, but it has largely remained the same, generally speaking, for over 50 years. Every team has four uniforms it can wear, which include the City Edition uniforms. The Lakers' City Edition uniforms for the 2024-25 season weren't well regarded, and they played so poorly in them that they stopped wearing them around midseason. This coming season, the Lakers will be recycling their City Edition uniforms from the 2023-24 campaign, per the team's official X (formerly Twitter) account. When this design was first unveiled two years ago, plenty thought it was at least somewhat uninspired and even boring. The fact that the team is simply using it again instead of coming up with a new one has led to fans expressing their disappointment. On a brighter note, the Lakers' Statement Edition uniforms have been improved. The black stripe down the sides that they had has been removed, and the team's wordmark and the player numbers are now in white with gold trim. Now, if only L.A.'s Icon Edition uniforms would go with gold instead of yellow as their primary color, the team's fans would likely be happy enough with its on-court threads. NBA teases OKC Thunder 2025-26 City Edition jersey announcement
Teasing their arrival, the NBA showed a glimpse of what the 2025-26 City Edition uniforms could look like. From what they posted on social media, they will have a throwback approach by bringing back a fan-favorite classic for each team. The NBA posted a graphic where each number and letter in "2025-26 NBA & Nike City Edition Remix" was replaced with a font of an NBA team's previous City Edition jersey. For the Oklahoma City Thunder, the "k" in Nike was in the same font as their infamous 2018-19 Native American heritage tribute jersey. It served as the Thunder's City Edition uniform in the final year of the Russell Westbrook and Paul George era. The fan favorite always gets mentioned among the best OKC jerseys. From some social media rumors, it looks like the font and design remain the same, but in a different color than teal. It looks like the NBA champion will bring it back —with some slight tweaks — for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren to wear in the 2025-26 season. We'll see when the NBA announces the City Edition uniforms for next season. It's one of the bigger news items of August. Everybody is also waiting for the 2025-26 regular season schedule, which should happen sometime this month.

Look: The Rams just teased a new black alternate uniform for the 'Rivalries' series
The new uniform will be revealed on Aug. 28 and worn against the Seahawks in November Midnight Mode. First look on August 28. There's a new alternate uniform coming for the Los Angeles Rams in 2025 and the team just teased its design on social media. It's part of the NFL's 'Rivalries' program, which will give eight teams a special uniform to be worn for one rivalry game this season, as well as the 2026 and 2027 seasons, too. Fans have been anxiously waiting to see what the Rams' jersey will look like and it appears Los Angeles is going with a completely new design. They teased it as 'Midnight Mode,' sharing a brief snippet of their white jersey turning black, followed by a black and yellow L.A. logo. The full uniform will be revealed on August 28, so mark your calendars. Additionally, the Rams announced they will wear this alternate uniform on Nov. 16 against the Seahawks, a home game against one of their biggest rivals. This one is always circled.» These new uniforms are designed to incorporate the local community, similar to the NBA's City Edition jerseys. The uniforms are rooted in detailed community research and storytelling, with each design pulling from local history, tradition, and culture. Once introduced, each team's Rivalries uniform will remain part of their official alternate rotation for the next three seasons. A black uniform will go well with the Rams' current set of white, blue and Bone, giving them an entirely new look for the next three years.
