Rumored new Boston Celtics City Edition jerseys leaked An image of a new Boston Celtics City Edition jersey may be making the rounds in the wider NBA media sphere. The history of alternate Association jerseys "leaking" has had a checkered past, with the images we see hitting social media platforms occasionally turning out to be accurate, some slightly off, and at times completely fake. But we have it from a reliable source that at least some of the City Edition jerseys being circulated on social media by ProLine Mockups are the real deal -- and among them is a very solid looking City Edition for the Celtics. It is, according to the image being circulated, a recolorization of their 2017-18 City Editions. A familiar-looking style of the home whites reimagined with a parquet pattern and gold lettering, it doesn't try to do too much with what is at its core still the classic look we expect to see on Boston's players. 'Dunkstronaut' returns: Rockets to bring back popular City Edition uniforms in 2025-26 Back by popular demand, the Rockets are returning to their 'dunkstronaut' City Edition uniforms in the 2025-26 NBA season. That set was first worn in the 2023-24 season. Under something of a 'greatest hits' concept by the NBA and Nike, teams across the league are returning to a previous City Edition uniform during the upcoming 2025-26 season. A few of the NBA's 30 teams are using alternate color versions, but each is doing at least a variation of a popular concept from the first few years of the program. Most are simply running it back with their most beloved version, as is. In Houston, that will mean bringing back the 2023-24 'dunkstronaut' concept, which pays homage to the city's basketball history. In the team's original announcement from late 2023, here's how those white uniform sets were described: These uniforms are a part of the overarching 'Hometown Heroes' storyline, which was developed to celebrate NBA teams' unique connection to their respective cities. The Rockets new City Edition jersey is adorned with 'H-Town' across the chest in honor of the impact Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler had in building Houston's love of basketball during their iconic Phi Slama Jama collegiate careers (at the University of Houston). The 'H-Town' nickname was quickly adopted by the players and appeared on their team warmups during the 1982-83 season. The jersey design is a fusion of classic and modern elements, combining the sleek, contemporary style of today's NBA uniforms with the retro flair from the Phi Slama Jama era. It prominently features 'H-Town' in a sleek, script typeface with player's name and numbers designed in a bold collegiate style. A standout feature of the uniform is the inclusion of a dunking astronaut on the side of the shorts This emblem is a homage to the high-flying style of Phi Slama Jama and to City of Houston's status as 'Space City,' adding a unique and powerful touch to the uniform. The shorts also include silicon print signatures from Olajuwon and Drexler near the bottom corner tag. The dunking astronaut became known as the 'dunkstronaut,' and that logo was featured at midcourt as part of a custom, matching court design at Toyota Center for those City Edition games. The news of Houston bringing back its 2023-24 City Edition uniforms was first reported on X by ProLine Mockups and Basketball Jersey Archive, and Rockets Wire can confirm the reporting. NFL announces new Nike rivalry uniforms are coming, but Saints fans will have to wait You may have missed it during all the commotion of the 2025 draft, but the NFL made an important announcement amid the proceedings. Starting this season, teams will debut a new uniform combination as part of what the league is calling the "NFL x Nike Rivalries Program." But there's a catch, at least for New Orleans Saints fans excited about adding a new look to their wardrobe. This is a planned four-year rollout with just two divisions participating in 2025. This year, only the NFC West and AFC East teams will get new uniforms, with two more divisions added each season until all 32 teams are participating by 2028. Here are the teams that will be getting new "rivalry" uniforms in 2025: So Saints fans may have to wait a year, or two, or three to see what Nike cooks up. Here's how the NFL described the initiative in a release: Each participating team will wear a unique Rivalries uniform with designs rooted extensively in local community insights during a single home game against a division rival. The designs have been brought to life by pulling inspiration from the history of each market and the aspects of the community that only that team's city embodies. That sounds a lot like MLB's City Connect jerseys and the NBA's City Edition uniforms, but these will only be worn in matchups with division rivals. So what will the Saints' new uniforms look like? Their white-and-gold "Color Rush" jerseys remain wildly popular (even if the black helmets they've been paired with were a misfire), and the throwback uniforms are always a good sight, too. But from the sounds of it, Nike may be pulling more from New Orleans' unique culture than the Saints' tradition black and gold. Maybe something more akin to the Pelicans' bold purple and green "Skelican" City Edition jerseys is in the works. We'll have to wait at least a year to see the results but it's a safe bet that these new kits will be hotly anticipated.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (and the Seattle Supersonics before them) have 51 jersey numbers worn by the players who have suited up for the franchise since its founding at the start of the 1967-68 season. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Thunder Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. And while those Supersonics jerseys may not remain part of the franchise history should a new team be established in Seattle as was the case with the return of the Charlotte Hornets, they are part of the Thunder's history today. Advertisement For this article, we continue with the 25th jersey number in the series, jersey No. 23, with 11 players in total having donned the jersey in the history of the franchise. After ending his college career at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kofoed was picked up with the 107th overall selection (there were many more rounds in that era of the draft) of the 1987 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. The Omaha, Nebraska native would play the first two seasons of his pro career with the Jazz, as well as in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA -- that era's version of the G League) before signing with Seattle in 1991.
