Police seek man after 'deliberate fire' that caused significant damage to City of London building

Police are searching for a man after a suspected arson attack caused significant damage to a building in the City of London. Detectives would like to question Simon Dantes Calancea regarding the incident. City of London Police stated that the offence was a deliberate fire to a building in the City which caused serious damage. Calancea is a familiar face in the Square Mile and has also has links to several areas of north west London. A spokesperson for the City of London Police said: 'We're looking for Simon Dantes Calancea, who we'd like to speak to in relation to a serious offence in the City. 'He is known to frequent the Square Mile and North West London. 'If seen, please do not approach, but call 999 immediately, quoting 25*339905. 'A deliberate fire that caused serious damage to a building in the City.' Police advise the public not approach him if they see him, but instead call 999 immediately, quoting reference 25*339905.

Gordon Ramsay's new London restaurant sees 477 lucky cat thefts

Nearly 500 cat figurines have been stolen from a new Gordon Ramsay restaurant in one week at an estimated cost of more than £2,000, the TV chef has said. The restaurateur recently launched Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay, in Bishopsgate in central London, featuring the beckoning Japanese cat models called 58-year-old, known for his Hell's Kitchen and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares reality TV programmes, told ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show: "The cats are getting stolen. There were 477 stolen last week - they cost £4.50 each."The City Of London Police said it has not received any reports of theft from the restaurant. The number of cat figurine's stolen would amount to a loss of £2,146.50. The maneki-neko figurines are believed by some within Japanese culture to bring good luck and have been a feature in the Lucky Cat restaurant, which serves Asian-inspired cuisine, opened earlier this month in one of London's tallest buildings, skyscraper 22 Bishopsgate. Ramsay has two restaurants under the Lucky Cat brand within London, with the other being in Mayfair, opening in other two locations, according to its website, are in Manchester and Miami, Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
