Travis Scott' act cost Coachella a fine of $20,000 as his set breaks curfew rules

Travis Scott closed out Coachella's Saturday night set on April 12; however, his performance came at a cost. Apart from the artist fee, the organisers had to pay a fine of $20,000 since Scott extended his performance by three minutes. #Pahalgam Terrorist Attack The groundwork before India mounts a strike at Pakistan India considers closing airspace to Pakistani carriers amid rising tensions Cold Start: India's answer to Pakistan's nuclear threats The extension of his performance exceeded the city administration-imposed 1 am curfew. The event organiser Goldenvoice must pay the fine, which stems from a 2013 agreement with the City of Indio . This agreement, as per media reports, enforces the strict curfew limits on festival nights—1 am on Fridays & Saturdays, and midnight on Sundays. As per a Billboard report, Scott was supposed to begin his set at 11.40 pm but delays pushed his start time. This ultimately led to him finishing his performance only three minutes later than intended. A similar delay happened on the second weekend, but the rapper finished his set before the curfew to avoid the penalties. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Only curfew violation this season The City of Indio issued a statement on the incident involving Travis Scott. Reportedly, the agreement with the city stipulates an immediate $20,000 fine for any performance which goes up to five minutes past curfew. Beyond that, the organisers have to pay an additional $1,000 per minute.
