Travis Scott' act cost Coachella a fine of $20,000 as his set breaks curfew rules

Travis Scott closed out Coachella's Saturday night set on April 12; however, his performance came at a cost. The event organiser Goldenvoice must pay the fine, which stems from a 2013 agreement with the City of Indio . This agreement, as per media reports, enforces the strict curfew limits on festival nights—1 am on Fridays & Saturdays, and midnight on Sundays. As per a Billboard report, Scott was supposed to begin his set at 11.40 pm but delays pushed his start time. This ultimately led to him finishing his performance only three minutes later than intended. They said that the three-minute overshoot was the only curfew breach across Coachella's two weekends and the Stagecoach country music festival, which concluded on April 27, 2025. Reportedly, the agreement with the city stipulates an immediate $20,000 fine for any performance which goes up to five minutes past curfew. Beyond that, the organisers have to pay an additional $1,000 per minute. Interestingly, in 2021, BottleRock Napa Valley shut off power during a song to enforce its curfew. Goldenvoice, though, prefers to take the fines instead of interrupting headliner performances, as some other festivals have done in a more hardline fashion.
