Agreement Signed Between Civil Status and Passports Department and Jordan Post to Deliver Electronic Passports
The Civil Status and Passports Department (CSPD) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Jordan Post Company to provide a new service for the delivery of electronic passports, which will begin pilot issuance starting 1st September. اضافة اعلان Ghassan Ghazi Al-Tayyeb, Director General of the CSPD, confirmed that this step supports the electronic passport project and enhances the digital transformation of government services, in addition to strengthening the digital services infrastructure. He noted that Jordan Post will be responsible for delivering the passports to citizens within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of application submission, to the address specified by the applicant. The delivery service will cost 3 Jordanian dinars, payable to Jordan Post, and will include the delivery of the electronic passport to the specified address. Al-Tayyeb added that Jordan Post employees will cancel the old passport upon the delivery of the new electronic one, in accordance with the Passport Law and its applicable regulations. For her part, Hanadi Al-Tayyeb, Director General of Jordan Post, emphasized that the company has become a strategic partner in national projects that directly impact citizens' daily lives, including its cooperation with the CSPD. She explained that Jordan Post will establish a comprehensive delivery network to ensure passports are delivered accurately, supported by a precise tracking system. She added that the company aims to facilitate access to services across all regions of the Kingdom and to support government efforts in digital transformation, saving citizens time and effort. Jordan Post operates in various governorates and remote areas, and its staff is well-qualified to deliver passports in full compliance with CSPD legal requirements.

Civil Status Department Issues 100,000 Digital Certificates Since May - Jordan News
The Director General of the Civil Status and Passports Department, Eng. Ghaith Ghazi Al-Tayyib, announced that the digital certificates service, launched on May 1 via the 'Sanad' application, has witnessed a significant turnout from citizens both inside and outside the Kingdom. To date, 100,000 digital certificates have been issued for previously registered vital events. اضافة اعلان Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Monday, Al-Tayyib explained that the service enables citizens to issue digital certificates for previously recorded vital events such as birth, marriage, divorce, death, as well as individual and family status records. The certificates are issued in PDF format and available in both Arabic and English. He emphasized that obtaining a certificate is done through the Sanad app by selecting the Civil Status and Passports Department services, followed by the digital certificates service. The issued certificates include a QR code allowing concerned parties to verify their authenticity immediately. Al-Tayyib noted that the launch of this service aligns with the Kingdom's digital transformation efforts and aims to ease access for citizens, whether within Jordan or abroad. The service is available anytime and from anywhere, including Fridays and official holidays, thus reducing pressure on Jordanian embassies and minimizing congestion within the department. He added that the digital certificates are free of additional charges, are recognized by all public and private entities, and represent a major step forward in the government's strategy to enhance and streamline its services.

Civil Status Department Cancels In-Person Requirement for Issuing Registered Vital Certificates The Director General of the Civil Status and Passports Department, Ghaith Ghazi Al-Tayyeb, has announced the cancellation of the in-person requirement for issuing previously registered vital certificates—including marriage, divorce, birth, death, family record, and individual record certificates—at all department offices, effective May 1st. اضافة اعلان In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday, Al-Tayyeb said a directive was issued to all department offices—both at the main headquarters and in the governorates—to stop accepting in-person requests for these certificates and to switch exclusively to electronic applications. He explained that citizens can now obtain these certificates digitally through the "Sanad" app by accessing the Civil Status and Passports Department's services, selecting the 'Digital Certificates' option, choosing the type of certificate, the beneficiary's name, and the preferred language of issuance (Arabic or English), then submitting the request and paying the fee electronically. Al-Tayyeb added that the service allows Jordanian citizens to receive their certificates in PDF format directly via the "Sanad" app, where the documents can be viewed under the 'My Requests' section. Each certificate includes a QR code to verify its authenticity.
