Strictly Come Dancing 2025 line-up: Doctor Who star, Love Island winner, rugby hero and more to battle for glitterball glory
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC screens this September with nine celebrities confirmed so far. This year's line-up spans TV icons, Love Island winners, sports legends, and trailblazing personalities. Two new professional dancers will also join the show, while judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas return.

TV and film stars in the spotlight
Alex Kingston, known for her role as River Song in Doctor Who (2008–2015) and earlier fame in ER, joins the cast. Her career also includes roles in Douglas Is Cancelled, Treason, Gilmore Girls and A Discovery of Witches. EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal, who plays Suki Kaur Panesar, will also take to the floor. She called the opportunity 'a dream' alongside her ongoing soap work.
Reality and online personalities join the mix
Love Island series four winner Dani Dyer said joining Strictly is 'the second most amazing thing' she's done this year. YouTuber and podcaster George Clarke admitted he has 'no idea' what he's doing but is ready to try. Drag performer La Voix, known from RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Britain's Got Talent, will compete as well.

Sporting legends bring new footwork
Former Premier League striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who played for Leeds United, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea, will swap football boots for dance shoes. Ex-England rugby captain Chris Robshaw aims to upgrade his 'dad dancing,' while Team GB sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey returns after last year's Christmas special, promising 'tons of energy' on the dance floor.
A trailblazing model on the dance floor
Ellie Goldstein, the first model with Down syndrome to appear on the cover of British Vogue in 2023, will compete this year. Her career includes campaigns for Gucci Beauty and Adidas, and she helped launch the first Barbie with Down syndrome. She says joining Strictly is 'a dream.'
