Iteris Technology Selected by City of Corona for Smart Mobility Upgrades
SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Iteris, Inc., the world's trusted technology ecosystem for smart mobility infrastructure management and part of Almaviva Group, today announced the City of Corona, California has awarded Iteris an over $4 million contract to provide the city with smart mobility infrastructure management technologies. Corona will utilize Iteris' software as a service (SaaS) solution ClearGuide ® combined with new detection sensors and web-based communication infrastructure. Under the terms of the agreement, the city will have access to ClearGuide Roadways, an easy-to-use dynamic service that helps agencies improve real-time operations, incident management, work zone mobility, and transportation planning with traffic data and map content. They will also deploy Vantage Apex ®, Iteris' AI-powered HD video and radar detection sensors and VantageLive!®, an easy-to-use, web-based data service that allows users to view activity at their intersections by automatically collecting and analyzing vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian data, removing the need for manual, costly data collection efforts. These technologies will enable Corona to gather more accurate road user detection and counts for several major arterial corridors, which they plan to aggregate to produce new, more efficient coordination patterns. Iteris Chosen by the Orange County Transportation Authority for Harbor Boulevard Transit Initiative
SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Iteris, Inc., the world's trusted technology ecosystem for smart mobility infrastructure management and part of Almaviva Group, today announced it has been awarded a new contract by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for a new smart mobility initiative that will improve public roadway transit in the county. Iteris will provide its unique microsimulation planning expertise to analyze public transit movement and identify strategies to improve service across the areas studied. This project specifically will focus on transit routes along Harbor Boulevard. The study area spans five cities and 53 signalized intersections. The two combined routes (Route 43 and OC Bus Rapid Route 543) along this corridor average over 10,000 boardings daily, encompassing nearly 8% of all county bus ridership. With microsimulation, the team will use complex traffic software to simulate real-life operations and analyze the impacts of changing travel demand, traffic generated and affected by construction projects, local traffic patterns, updates to signal timings and parameters, and different interactions between modes of travel. With this information, Iteris can then identify a range of strategies to enhance and improve public transit service along the affected routes. This project coincides with Iteris' support for the Traffic Signal Priority Pilot Study on Harbor Boulevard and will leverage data collected for the countywide baseline project, which combined represent nearly $10 million in recent contracts awarded by OCTA to Iteris. Like the Traffic Signal Priority Pilot Study, the Harbor Boulevard Transit Initiative will use Iteris' ClearGuide® SaaS solution and extensive data analytics to help understand travel patterns and identify existing traffic conditions in the area.
