Celtic transfer target receives death threats and racial abuse as Sondre Orjasaeter 'snub' revealed

One man who has been linked with the Hoops has received a torrent of abuse after getting sent off in a game Reported Celtic transfer target Clement Bischoff has allegedly received death threats and racist abuse after seeing red for Brondby in a crunch European qualifier. ‌ The Danish side overturned a 3-0 deficit from their first leg defeat to Icelandic outfit Vikingur by winning 4-0 at home in the return fixture to book their place in the final Conference League qualification hurdle, where they will face Ligue 1 team Strasbourg for a place in the revamped group stage. ‌ However, the second leg threatened to get off to a torrid start when versatile midfielder Bischoff - was giving his marching orders with a straight red card after just 18 minutes with the score at 0-0. ‌ The 19-year-old is said to be valued at £6.8million and has been touted as a potential target for the Hoops as well as English Premier League new boys Sunderland. But in a club statement, Brondby have confirmed the players has been subjected to death threats and abuse of a racial nature online in the wake of his dismissal on Thursday. "In connection with Thursday's victory, Clement Bischoff has received several hateful and racist messages and death threats. "Brøndby IF strongly distances itself from the disgusting hateful messages and threats, and the individuals behind them. "Hateful behaviour - whether on social media or face-to-face - has no place. Not in football, not in the community, not in society. "Clement, we stand behind you, in front of you and beside you." ‌ Meanwhile, FC Twente transfer chief Jan Streuer insists his club beat Celtic to the signing of Norwegian starlet Sondre Orjasaeter. The winger was a target for Brendan Rodgers' back in January, with the Parkhead giants seeing a £4million thrown out by former club Sarpsborg. ‌ The 21-year-deal sealed a deal worth a reported £6.5million to Eredivisie side Twente earlier this week and sporting director Streuer has hinted that Celtic had renewed their interest in the player but to no avail. He said: "He definitely had more options. Celtic, for example, also wanted him; he's been there. "He could have gone to other countries, but he really wanted to go to the Netherlands. ‌ "In my opinion, that's also a great step for a young player's development." Brighton & Hove Albion's move for Brondby's Clement Bischoff seemingly off after clubs fail to agree deal

Brighton & Hove Albion's move for Brondby midfielder Clement Bischoff appears to have collapsed. The Athletic previously reported that Brighton had lined up a deal to sign the 19-year-old this summer in a deal worth around €8million ($8.33m; £6.65m). However, that transfer has now collapsed after the two clubs could not agree a deal to complete the transfer. Advertisement A left-sided player, the Denmark youth international has been deployed at left-back as well as on the left side of midfield. He has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Brondby this campaign, scoring two goals and providing eight assists. He has also made two appearances for Denmark's under-21 side. Bischoff is the nephew of former Mikkel Bischoff — a former centre-back whose career included stints at Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, and Coventry City. Brighton agree deal to sign Danish midfielder Clement Bischoff from Brondby

Brighton & Hove Albion have already lined up a significant signing for the summer transfer window, securing a deal to recruit midfielder Clement Bischoff from Brondby. An agreement has been found between the Premier League club and their Danish counterparts, with personal terms for the 19-year-old left-sided player also in place. Advertisement Brighton are set to pay around €8million ($8.33m; £6.65m) to acquire Bischoff and he is set to sign a five-year contract until the summer of 2030, with the move now in the process of being finalised. The Denmark youth international's deal with Brondby expires in June 2026 and they have not managed to tie him down to fresh terms. If completed, it would be among their biggest sales. He is the nephew of former Mikkel Bischoff — a former centre-back whose career included stints at Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City. The agreement to sign Bischoff follows a busy winter window for Brighton. The south coast club brought in midfielder Diego Gomez from Inter Miami and defender Eiran Cashin from Derby County and also signed Greek striker Stefanos Tzimas from Bundesliga 2 side Nurnberg, where he remains on loan. Among the outgoings were Evan Ferguson and Julio Enciso, who joined West Ham United and Ipswich Town on loan respectively, and Jakub Moder, who completed a permanent transfer to Dutch club Feyenoord. Brighton are 10th in the Premier League and are next in action against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday. (Pedro Loureiro/Eurasia)
