Run, don't walk — the Hoka summer sale just dropped, and you can get 20% off my favorite running shoe

Whether you've signed up for a race this fall or you're just looking to upgrade your running shoes, I've got good news — the Hoka summer sale has dropped, and my favorite pair of everyday running shoes is 20% off. I test running shoes for a living, and right now you can get the Hoka Clifton 9 for just $115, down from $145 at Hoka The Hoka Clifton 9 is a reliable, everyday running shoe, best suited to easy miles and long runs. The Clifton is the brand's breathable, cushioned running shoe, designed for running and walking. It's on its ninth iteration, and it's now on sale following the release of the Hoka Clifton 10 earlier this year. The Hoka Clifton 9 is on sale in both men's and women's sizes right now at Hoka directly. At the time of writing, there are still a few color options left in plenty of sizes, including half sizes, but hurry, this sale won't last for long. The sale is only on the regular fit shoe. The Hoka Clifton 9 is a cushioned, everyday running shoe that'll work well for beginners and more experienced runners alike. It's not the fanciest or the fastest shoe around, but it's reliably comfortable, whether you're training for a marathon or using this shoe for your walking workouts. During testing, the Clifton 9 surprised me. I wore it for easy miles and faster tempo sessions, and found the new midsole foam used in this shoe gave it more of an energetic ride compared to the Clifton 8 or the Clifton 7. That said, it still feels like a Clifton — Hoka hasn't reinvented the wheel here, and fans of the shoe won't be disappointed. While the foam is definitely cushioned, it's not overly soft, but this gives the shoe a little more durability, especially if you're trying to use it for tempo sessions as well as easy miles. It's a decent all-rounder, and with 20% off, it's a great price. If you're looking for something a little faster and snappier, with the potential to also wear it on race day, I'd recommend looking at this Hoka Mach X2 deal, as recommended by my colleague Nick Harris-Fry.
