Amal Clooney, 47, cuts an elegant figure in a pink thigh-split dress as she and her dapper husband George, 64, head out for dinner in Lake Como

Amal Clooney put on yet another showstopping display as she and her husband George headed out for dinner with guests in Lake Como on Wednesday. The couple, aged 47 and 64 respectively, were seen greeting guests for an aperitif before heading out by boat to Villa Passalacqua for the evening. Amal exuded elegance in a flowing fuchsia gown with a high slit and bow detail, paired with a gold clutch and pink bouquet. Meanwhile George put on a dapper display in a sharp grey suit and aviator sunglasses as they headed out arm-in-arm together. The couple, who own a mansion in Laglio on Lake Como, are in the area to host an exclusive experience organised by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, with dinners and events attended at Villa Passalacqua. Esteemed lawyer Amal, who married Clooney in 2014, is known for showcasing her stunning wardrobe at every turn. The experience will set guests back at least €100,000 (£87,000) for the rare opportunity to hobnob with George and Amal. While organisers denied the suggested fee was €160,000 (£139,284) correct, they did confirm that it will set attendees back six figures. During the four-day break, those wealthy enough to afford it will enjoy fine wines, gourmet food and the breathtaking scenery of the lake from the palatial hotel. It has been branded a 'philanthropic travel experience' near the Clooney estate, where participants will be invited to join the couple's 'quest to change the world'. The extremely exclusive event bids to raise money for the Clooney Foundation, which provides free legal aid to wrongly imprisoned journalists and support to women's rights groups around the world. The gathering is so selective that just 16 people will attend to discuss world affairs with Amal and George. The group will be invited to a welcome reception and then a garden party hosted by George and Amal. The Passalacqua is a striking venue which was built in the 18th century and rooms cost up to €12,000 per night for their grandest suite, the Bellini. One dinner will be held at the historic Villa del Balbianello, where Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Casino Royale have both filmed. George Clooney Hits Back at Biggest Criticism of His Acting

George Clooney doesn't 'give a s--t' about what his critics—including Hunter Biden—think of his acting, he declared in a recent interview. Clooney addressed the criticism that his roles lack 'versatility' in a profile for Vanity Fair out Monday. 'Do people say that I only play myself? I don't give a s--t,' he told the magazine. 'There aren't that many guys in my age group that are allowed to do both broad comedies like O Brother [Where Art Thou/], and then do Michael Clayton, or Syriana. So if that means I'm playing myself all the time, I don't give a s--t.' As a high-profile Democratic fundraiser and activist, Clooney has butted heads with a number of political figures on both sides of the aisle—drawing criticism for his acting work nearly every time. Last June, Russian security head Dmitry Medvedev threatened Clooney over the Clooney Foundation's work in the country, as he called him a 'mediocre actor' in a post to X. Most recently, Joe Biden's son Hunter took aim at the actor on the At Our Table podcast after Clooney wrote an New York Times op-ed pushing the then-president not to seek re-election. 'I love George Clooney's movies, but I don't really give a s--t what he thinks about who should be the nominee for the Democratic Party,' Biden said at the time. He then slammed Clooney's acting abilities in his expletive-filled tirade, 'I was about to say I really like George Clooney as an actor, but the truth of the matter is, the truth is, I'll be honest, I really don't like George Clooney as an actor or as a person.' 'F--- him! F--- him and f--- everybody around him,' he also said, 'I agree with Quentin Tarantino. George Clooney is not a f---ing actor... He's a brand.' Others have criticized Clooney's filmography by arguing he should stick to playing 'suave,' as his 'range of emotions is limited.' Clooney told Vanity Fair he doesn't see any validity in the critique. 'I've been the beneficiary of having my career not be massively successful in lots of different directions,' Clooney said. 'I didn't really get successful, in the kind of success that can be blinding, until I was 33 years old. I'd been working for 12 years at that point. I had a real understanding of how fleeting all of it is and how little it has to do with you, quite honestly.' Clooney will soon star alongside Adam Sandler in Noah Baumbach's new film for Netflix, Jay Kelly, which is expected to be an awards season contender. Solve the daily Crossword

Shaunagh Connaire, Former Communications Director for George and Amal Clooney's Justice Foundation, Sets Directorial Debut ‘Brown Bread' (EXCLUSIVE)

Shaunagh Connaire, the two-time Emmy-nominated Irish journalist who has produced documentaries for the likes of the BBC and PBS Frontline and also served as communication director for George and Amal Clooney's Foundation for Justice, has made her directorial debut. 'Brown Bread,' which is set to have its world premiere at the upcoming Galway Film Fleadh, is a short film that marks Connaire's first foray into narrative drama, turning her storytelling lens toward emigration and family tension in modern Ireland. More from Variety CNN's Live 'Good Night, and Good Luck' Telecast Spurs Special Coverage CNN to Exclusively Air George Clooney's Record-Breaking Broadway Hit 'Good Night, and Good Luck' Live for Free Joe Biden Didn't Recognize Old Friend George Clooney at 2024 Fundraiser: Report The film — described by Connaire as a 'modern twist on the Irish emigration story' — is led by Emmy-winning actress Fionnula Flanagan ('Lost,' 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'), Katie McGrath ('Merlin,' 'Supergirl') and Dermot Crowley ('Luther: The Fallen Sun,' 'The Death of Stalin'). Inspired by Connaire's own experience of being unable to return to Ireland from the U.S. for her godmother's funeral, 'Brown Bead' follows Áine (McGrath), a woman whose return to Ireland from New York to attend her godmother's memorial mass stirs up old tensions, grief, and unspoken affection in her rural family home. Flanagan stars as Betty, a proud but emotionally restrained mother struggling with her daughter's return, while Crowley plays Áine's father Seamus. 'I was very lucky to have spent the last three years working with George and Amal Clooney as Director of Communications at their foundation. I think being in their presence and learning a little bit about the world of Hollywood, gave me the confidence to enter this world,' said Connaire. 'Brown Bread was my first time stepping onto a drama set. For the past decade I've documented the opioid epidemic in the US, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the migrant crisis in the Middle East — environments where the stakes were very real. This film was a different kind of intensity, but just as meaningful in its own way.' Producer Julie Ryan ('The Young Offenders') of MK1 Studios came aboard the film after reading the script. 'Shaunagh and I have known each other since college, so this felt like a natural fit. I was immediately struck by the script. It was sharp, funny, and full of emotional truth. She's a hugely talented writer and director with a strong sense of tone and storytelling,' said Ryan. 'With the market shifting, short film is a valuable space to develop voice and vision. It gives new filmmakers the freedom to take creative risks and tell distinctive stories on their own terms.' 'Brown Bread' was filmed in Connaire's hometown of Longford, with support from Creative Ireland's Longford branch and local community. The film was written and directed by Connaire, produced by Ryan for MK1 Studios, with Sam and Amelia Dennigan and Anne Heraty as associate producers.
