Sean Penn shockingly reveals he's never watched a movie starring this Oscar-nominated A-lister

He's not a member of Club Chalamet. Sean Penn recently confessed that he's never seen a Timothee Chalamet movie. 'I see some performances from some young actors where I feel like I should quit and become an accountant because they are so good,' Penn, 64, said during 'The Louis Theroux Podcast.' When Theroux asked the Oscar winner if he was referring to Chalamet, 29, the 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' actor confessed, 'I haven't seen that movie yet,' referring to Chalamet's Oscar-nominated performance as Bob Dylan in 'A Complete Unknown.' The 'Milk' star added about Chalamet, who is currently dating Kylie Jenner, 'I haven't seen his movies yet.' Looks like Penn doesn't know about Chalamet's notorious fan account, Club Chalamet. Chalamet's long list of critically acclaimed films also includes 'Little Women,' 'Dune' 'Call Me By Your Name,' 'Interstellar' and 'Wonka.' Penn also lamented what he believes is the decline of the movie star. 'I think the movie star manufacturer ran out around Jennifer Lawrence time or something,' the 'Mystic River' star said. Referring to 'The Hunger Games' star, 34, he added, 'She's probably the last movie star.' In Oct. 2024, Harrison Ford was also asked about the death of the category of 'movie star' 'Oh, I think it's rubbish. I don't think the question is whether or not there are any movie stars. There's wonderful actors coming up every day,' he told GQ at the time. 'Whether or not they become movie stars is really not the point. If movies need stars, they will find them. I've never f—ing understood being a movie star. I'm an actor. I tell stories.' Penn, who notoriously interviewed the drug lord El Chapo, also gushed about Tom Cruise. 'Certain kind of movies people appreciate more than others… but this is a very good actor who is also an incredibly extraordinary craftsman,' Penn told Theroux. 'Those movies don't get made on those level without somebody extraordinary behind them. He's the common link behind many of them. It's no accident. He does his own stunts. He's probably the best stuntman in movie world. He's the most experienced guy.'

Kylie's biggest nemesis? A 50-something woman old enough to be her mother... and she's determined to DESTROY star's relationship with Timothée Chalamet

When you're a celebrity, a fan club may sound like a great thing to have. Who wouldn't want dedicated supporters singing your praises on social media? However, one Timothée Chalamet ' stan ' account, which shares news and photos of the 29-year-old actor, has become a celebrity in her own right - even earning recognition from other A-listers on social media. The woman behind the online accounts with more than 59,000 followers across X and Instagram is Simone Cromer - a woman thought to be in her 50s, who is based in Los Angeles and loves all things cinema. However while Timothée - 'Timmy' as he is often nicknamed by fans - has enjoyed a flurry of positive and uplifting posts lauding his acting talents for years, and even met Simone herself a few times, her loyalty appears to have turned sinister in light of his romance with Kylie Jenner. When the loved-up star stepped out with his 27-year-old girlfriend, who was once named the world's youngest self-made billionaire, on the red carpet this week, Simone was not pleased. The happy couple, who packed on the PDA for the cameras beamed at one another - but Club Chalamet rallied for 'attention' not to be 'hogged' away from Timothée. Taking to her Stories, Simone muzzed out Kylie's face in photos from the 70th David Di Donatello Awards at Cinecitta Studios, and lamented about the fracturing of the 'fandom'. However, in a bizarre follow up post, she appeared to double down on her allegiance, sharing cartoon renditions of Kylie and the actor posing next to a gravestone burying 'fandom of Timothée Chalamet'. In another, the 'fandom' was a house on fire. However while Timothée - 'Timmy' as he is often nicknamed by fans - has enjoyed a flurry of positive and uplifting posts lauding his acting talents for years, and even met Simone herself a few times, her loyalty appears to have turned sinister in light of his romance with Kylie Jenner 'This is how a lot of people feel, but not me,' she penned. 'I'll explain why later.' In a post, Simone then elaborated on the tensions in the 'community'. 'The purpose of Club Chalamet is to be an entertaining and reliable content creator of commentary about the life and career of Timothée Chalamet. I'm proud of the work I have done for CC since 2018, and Timothée has consistently demonstrated that he's a talent worth supporting,' she wrote. 'Sometimes taking a break from a fandom is necessary, especially with US politics turning the global community's lives upside down with the obfuscation of facts and truths, alienating allies, the media pushing select political and PR narratives, people losing their jobs, homes, and financial security, rising food costs, rampant racism, fascism, women and queer rights and health being regressed, etc. 'And the gap between the haves and have nots widening every day with blind allegiance to self-serving, narcissistic billionaires and multi-millionaires who flaunt their wealth with private jets, and their power and influence to manipulate, intimidate, and control people, the media, the stock markets, and supporters for their own vanity and financial gain. 'So when it comes to enjoying a celebrity fandom as a form of escapism, especially when things haven't been copacetic, it's wise to take a step back and go on a hiatus to recalibrate.' She blamed 'abusive gaslighting' on dividing the fans, purported by 'interlopers who have enjoyed the gossip situation of the past two years' - seemingly referring to when rumours about Timothée and Kylie were first sparked. However, while their welfare has 'festered', Simone stressed that Club Chalamet is 'not going anywhere'. 'YOU, too, have the power to ignore the gossip and focus on real-world problems you can't ignore; let's keep things in perspective,' she wrote. 'Go out for a walk, drink a cup of coffee, and stay positive. Timmy is a phenomenal actor and human being, and Club Chalamet will be here to support him.' Simone's devotion is well known to even the stars themselves. After Timmy and Kylie made their red carpet debut, Snow White actress Rachel Zegler, 24, commented underneath images of the A-list couple shared onto Cosmopolitan's Instagram page. She simply typed out, 'is club chalamet gonna be ok,' as pictures showed the duo affectionately cosying up together during the glitzy ceremony. The magazine then replied to Rachel in the comment section with: 'We're keeping her in our thoughts right now queen.' It's not the first time Kylie appeared to be a terse topic for Simone, who put out the dubious claims that the relationship was staged. In August 2023, when reports alleged that they had split up, Simone insisted it's 'clear they were never together'. 'There is no relationship,' she insisted in a post, despite there being no facts to support this. 'Timothée has done all the things to demonstrate that he is not friends with, let alone in a relationship with this woman, she's not his type or intellectual equal! 'This was all PR from her family's publicity machine which paid popular gossip sources to spread the rumor! Now help spread that news!' However- when Timothée and Kylie made an appearance together at the Golden Globes in January of the following year - Simone said the fandom must respect his choices. 'Although Timothée didn't win the Golden Globe for #Wonka that he deserved to win, it was great seeing him attend the event as a nominee!' she wrote on Instagram. 'The elephant in the room is obvious, but all I want to say is that Club Chalamet remains devoted to supporting Timmy and his career and I just want to enjoy writing about and talking about the upcoming projects he has. 'What I want to stress to people who are feeling upset right now is that Club Chalamet will continue to curate specific news and information about Timmy's career and life to share with my followers and the readers who lurk. 'Timothée Chalamet is a 28 year-old man making 28 year-old man decisions about his life and we have to accept that. What we can control is what we choose to focus on about him that brings us joy in supporting him. Club Chalamet is here to stay because Timothée is a remarkably talented man who works on projects that are compelling and incredibly exciting.' The sentiments however appear at odds with other times Simone seems to have thrown shade at Kylie. In June, sharing a snap of the couple on a date, she wrote: 'A baby daddy getting arrested is not good for the conglomerate brand' - referring to the reality star's ex Travis Scott's arrest at the time. The rapper, who has children with Kylie, was taken in for disorderly intoxication and trespassing property after warning in Miami, and released just hours later. Both charges were eventually dropped. 'I warned you all that we're in the break glass in case of emergency scenario,' the Club continued. 'They're at TCL Chinese Theater this afternoon. Backgrid happens to be right there at the perfect time.' Elsewhere at the beginning of this year, in a post many took to be about the reality star, Club Chalamet said: 'When I was 26, I looked 19. Today, some 26 year olds look 42. That sucks for them.' Just today, Simone shared a quote from Barack Obama, denouncing 'bullies' - and right after posted a clip from TMZ titled 'Kylie Jenner's BF Timothée Chalamet awkwardly swerves kiss on camera'. Despite what appears to be a divisive time for fans of Timmy, one thing is clear - Club Chalamet is here to stay, after setting up camp in 2018. Simone has long supported the actor, and has even taken a few selfies with him at events. In 2022, the pair met while attending Coachella. 'The universe hooked me up! I met Timmy after Brockhampton!!!!' Simone gushed on Instagram. 'I just went up to him and said, "Timmy, it's Club Chalamet, I just wanted to say hi!". He hugged me and held onto me as we walked together and he said how grateful he is to all the work I do for him. 'He said he really appreciated it so much. I was stuttering for a moment and said that it was my pleasure. He asked if I wanted a picture and I knew I looked like wind blown s**t so I said sure. 'He touched my phone to work the selfie reverse image because my brain froze and he took the picture! Guys, it happened! Thank you to those of you who entertained my whimsical hopes to bump into him at Coachella. We manifested the s**t out of this, so thank you for your positive influences into the universe. So I hugged him once more and told him thank you. I'm in shock! Thank you!' In 2023 - after weathering the drama of initial rumours about Timmy and Kylie - Simone posted yet another picture with the star. 'Thanks to everyone's positive feedback and support regarding my experience at the LA Wonka premiere,' she wrote. 'I was very lucky and I think after the events of recent months, it was a nice karmic scenario for both me and Timothée.' Club Chalamet also often enjoys PR packages from his projects, and attends premieres. The account also used to have videos, titled Club Chalamet Conversations, in which Simone would bring guest's on to discuss the actors work. She has even hosted fundraisers for charities in honour of Timothée, having in December raised more than $2,000 for Odyssey House, a New York based organisation for people in need, for his 29th birthday. When it comes to her life outside of the fan account, Simone focuses on reviewing films in Los Angeles. According to her X profile, she is an annual attendee at the Toronto International Film Festival and San Diego Comic-Con as well as being a member of the Astra Awards presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, and the International Documentary Association. Originally from Detroit, an old Facebook profile also suggests she studied Psychology at the University of Michigan from 1993 to 1996. Beyond her love of cinema, Simone doesn't post much about her personal life on her own accounts, other than pictures of meals, drinks and travels.

Rachel Zegler shades Timothée Chalamet fans as actor and Kylie Jenner make red carpet debut

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the saddest of them all? Rachel Zegler posed a question for Timothée Chalamet fans after he and girlfriend Kylie Jenner made their red carpet debut after two years of dating. The 24-year-old star referenced the Instagram fan account Club Chalamet, which is dedicated to the 'Willy Wonka' star, while commenting on a Wednesday post from Cosmopolitan. The photo shared by the magazine featured Chalamet, 29, and Jenner, 27, posing together at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome. 'Is club chalamet gonna be ok,' Zegler teased in the comments section, to which Cosmopolitan replied, 'We're keeping her in our thoughts right now queen.' The outlet captioned their original post, 'It's officially red carpet official! Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner made their carpet debut today at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Italy! Someone check on Club Chalamet right now… ' While in Rome, Chalamet was honored with an award for Cinematic Excellence. Club Chalamet shared their well wishes for the 'A Complete Unknown' star on Instagram with a picture of him holding his trophy. 'Timothée, congratulations on your David Di Donatello honor yesterday in Italy,' the account holder, Simone, wrote. 'So many more of such honors will come your way over the years.' But the fan also touched on the negativity she's experienced on her page in recent years. 'The purpose of Club Chalamet is to be an entertaining and reliable content creator of commentary about the life and career of Timothée Chalamet. I'm proud of the work I have done for CC since 2018, and Timothée has consistently demonstrated that he's a talent worth supporting,' Simone wrote. 'Abusive gaslighting has been done to our community by interlopers who have enjoyed the gossip situation of the past two years. When you have a vested interest in the welfare of your fan community, you see the accumulating damage firsthand and how it's been allowed to fester.' After explaining that many fans have been 'trolled and bullied by interlopers, the media, and driven into mental exhaustion from the toxicity of the gossip,' she wanted the public to know she's sticking around in honor of Chalamet. 'I'm not going anywhere. YOU, too, have the power to ignore the gossip and focus on real-world problems you can't ignore; let's keep things in perspective. Go out for a walk, drink a cup of coffee, and stay positive. Timmy is a phenomenal actor and human being, and Club Chalamet will be here to support him.' Chalamet and Jenner, meanwhile, have been out and about in recent months, attending a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game together in April, where they packed on the PDA courtside. The duo also watched the Indian Wells tennis tournament in March, where they showed one another plenty of affection throughout the game. Although their Italian adventure marks the first red carpet they walked on together, Jenner is no stranger to supporting her partner in his career endeavors. During the 2025 award season, the Kylie Cosmetics founder attended the Golden Globes, Oscars, and BAFTAs with Chalamet, who was nominated for best actor for his role as Bob Dylan in the 2024 biographical drama 'A Complete Unknown.' Chalamet's performance earned him a SAG award. The couple has kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight, with Chalamet addressing keeping his privacy amid his mounting fame. 'I can't say that this stuff doesn't matter,' he told GQ in 2023, 'because my intense fandom has led me to where I am.' When the reporter brought up the level of fame Jenner possesses, Chalamet replied, 'This reminds me of that recent 'South Park' episode with the Worldwide Privacy Tour,' referring to the show parodying Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanting privacy while traveling the world. 'Sometimes, people are going to be hella confused when you say you're trying to live a private life.'
