Call of Duty 2026 aka Modern Warfare 4 is reportedly scrapping the most controversial feature of Black Ops 6
Image via Treayrch. It's 2025 and people have already started speculating about Call of Duty 2026 . As this franchise has been following a yearly release model since 2005, fans can expect a title in 2026 for sure. We are yet to get any solid news regarding CoD 2025, but rumors are at its peak for CoD 2026. There has been no confirmation regarding this title, per rumors suggest that 2026 CoD title is going to be a sequel of Modern Warfare III, unlike CoD 2025, which is set in the Black Ops universe. Amidst all the rumors, there has been a new one which claims that in 2026, Activison might get rid of the feature, for which it faced huge criticism in Black Ops 6. Rumor: There might be no Omni-movement in Call of Duty 2026 Black Ops 6 set a new tone for the Call of Duty franchise. Developers already promised before the release of the game that BO6 was going to mark the beginning of a new chapter for the long-hailed series. And this new beginning started with the introduction of a new movement mechanics called Omni-movement. With this movement mechanics, you can slide in any direction you want, even backwards. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Inside Harry and Meghan's Stunning California Mansion BridesBlush Undo However, tables turned over everyone's head after the release of the game as Black Ops 6 faced huge backlash initially. And center of all the criticisms was this new movement scheme. Fans didn't like this new maneuver system at all. Treyarch later on fixed all the persisting issues in the game and Black Ops 6 went on to become one of the best games in the series. But people still rant about Omni-movement. Now there's a new report from credible industry insider @TheGhostOfHope which states that Call of Duty 2026 aka Modern Warfare 4 might not include Omni-movement anymore. However, this is not the final decision from Activision, as the developers might change their minds next year, when we get closer to the game. But for now, there is no plan to feature Omni-movement in 2026's title. TheGhostOfHope also stated that there has been a leak a while ago which claimed Call of Duty 2026 (MW4) would have the same movement mechanics as Call of Duty 2025 (BO7). But after this report, that leak is no longer legit as well. However, there is a rumor regarding CoD 2025 that might disappoint the fans . Now, what might be the probable reason for the Omni-movement being scrapped away from the future Call of Duty title? Frankly speaking, this was quite obvious. In the name of beginning a new chapter for the Call of Duty franchise, this new movement mechanics absolutely killed the familiar CoD vibe. After Omni-movement, the game became more about movements, rather than gun-fights. As these are just rumors, this report should be taken with a grain of salt. We still don't have information about Call of Duty 2026, but if Activision gets rid of Omni-movement, then many fans are going to be relieved for sure. Credible insider shares disappointing news regarding Call of Duty 2025
Image via Activision. Since 2005, Call of Duty has been an annual release. So, fans are expecting another enthralling experience in Call of Duty 2025 as well. But that seems far from the reality after the disappointing report shared by a credible leaker regarding the game's Campaign mode. When it comes to first-person shooters, you can never go past this long-hailed franchise. Year after year, this series has given us innumerable hits. However, as we are approaching another title in 2025, there is bad news for the fans. Call of Duty 2025 Campaign is rumored to be 'f**cking terrible' Recently, credible industry insider @TheGhostOfHope has shared a report that has totally devastated the dreams of Call of Duty 2025 fans. As per him, the Campaign in Call of Duty 2025 is going to be 'f**cking terrible.' Now, various reports claim that the upcoming CoD title is going to be a direct sequel of one of the best games of the series, Black Ops 2. Also, before CoD 2025 , Activision gifted us with Black Ops 6 which has featured one of the most amazing Campaign experiences the franchise has ever seen. So, what happened with Call of Duty 2025? The industry insider also explained his claim as well in a follow-up tweet. According to him, 'a lot of the campaign team for BO6 left right before the game came out.' He also claimed that unlike Black Ops 6, Raven is not going to be responsible for that. That means the team which left the company are probably from Treyarch. As the company has lost the team behind a brilliant Campaign setup in the latest installment, the claim from TheGhostOfHope seems more legit now. So far, the Campaign of Modern Warfare III (2023) is considered to be the worst. But in another tweet, that insider has stated that the Campaign of CoD 2025 is going to be worse than even MWIII. However, we still need to take these claims as grains of salt as nothing has been confirmed by Activision yet. We don't have any proper explanation on why the Campaign of Call of Duty 2025 is going to be terrible but it appears to be because of the open-world elements, which Call of Duty players have requested the developers to remove in the past.
