The name comes from the artist's base coat — a material used to prepare canvases for painting. This collaboration follows the same idea, creating a strong foundation for creative freedom and self-expression. The collection features four unique colourways: 'Indigo,' 'Sunflower,' 'Granite,' and 'Rubia.' Each pair is naturally dyed using techniques developed with Green Matters Natural Dye Company. 'Indigo' uses GOTS-certified indigo, while 'Sunflower' is dyed with weld flowers. 'Granite' blends cutch, iron and chestnut, and 'Rubia' is made with madder root and chestnut. By the time I made it home that night, after midnight, my friends were quick to note that I still smelled incredibly.
