Two beaches under warning, five open for swimming
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has released beach water testing results for this week, citing two are under warning for high bacteria levels. No beaches are closed. Colchester Beach and Seacliff Beach are under a warning this week, with WECHU warning to be cautious. Cedar Beach, Cedar Island Beach, Holiday Beach, Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach, and Point Pelee North West Beach are all open for swimming. WECHU reminds that Sandpoint Beach remains closed for swimming due to safety concerns. The sand area and playground are open.

Colchester Beach closed, three under warning: WECHU
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has closed one beach and three are under warning following the beach water testing results. Colchester Beach is closed, as it has bacteria levels that are too high to be deemed safe for swimming. Cedar Island Beach, Seacliff Beach, and Holiday Beach are both under warning, as they have higher levels of E. coli. If you are looking to cool off this weekend, Cedar Beach, Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach, and Point Pelee North West Beach are open for swimming.

Swimming not recommended at two local beaches ahead of Canada Day
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit said only four beaches in the area are deemed safe for swimming leading into Canada Day. Colchester Beach in Colchester and Holiday Beach in Amherstburg are under a warning due to high E. coli levels. Cedar Beach, Cedar Island Beach, Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach, Point Pelee North West Beach, and Seacliff Beach are all deemed safe for swimming. Sandpoint Beach has been closed by the city for safety reasons.

All beaches safe for swimming Father's Day weekend
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has deemed all beaches safe for swimming this Father's Day weekend. No blue-green algae has been seen in any of them. The beach with the highest E. coli level was Colchester Beach with 127.00 but is still safe for swimming. WECHU is reminding that Sandpoint Beach has been closed by the City of Windsor for safety reasons.
