Trader Joe's to open store in Brookland neighborhood
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — If you live in the Brookland neighborhood — get excited — a new grocery store is opening later this month.
Trader Joe's, a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores known for its unique products, is opening its doors at 701 Monroe St. NE on Thursday, May 15.

'At Trader Joe's in Washington – Brookland , we see ourselves as your neighborhood grocery store,' reads the about section for the new location on the Trader Joe's website. 'Step inside and you'll find unconventional and interesting products in the Trader Joe's label like Mandarin Orange Chicken and Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, as well as everyday basics like milk, eggs and fresh produce.'
While customers shop, they will be able to park at the store's parking garage on 8th Street.
There are six Trader Joe's stores across the District, including the new Brookland location. However, a seventh store is also set to open soon in Friendship Heights, although the opening date for that location has yet to be announced.
