Linkin Park Nearly Doubles The Competition's Chart Success

Linkin Park dominates the Official Rock and Metal Singles chart in the U.K. with seven songs, more ... More than any other rock act this week. In the United Kingdom, the group continues to find space on the charts — not just with the classics that made the nu-metal favorites superstars a quarter-century ago, but also with comeback tunes released just months ago. Such longevity is rare among rock acts, especially those that helped pioneer a style many would argue has largely disappeared. But Linkin Park continues to stand out as a commercial force, both with full-length projects and singles. This week, the group dominates one songs chart in the U.K., with multiple comeback cuts appearing near one another. Linkin Park manages to beat all other rock groups from every era with ease, and almost doubles the total sum of a handful of the biggest and best to ever do it. Linkin Park fills seven spaces on the Official Rock and Metal Singles chart this week. The tally, which ranks the bestselling tunes in those styles, only features 40 spots, so claiming even just a handful of positions is quite the coup. Half of Linkin Park's current hits return to the Official Rock and Metal Singles chart. "One Step Closer," "What I've Done," and "Heavy" reenter the list at Nos. 30, 34, and 39, respectively. Four other tracks by Linkin Park — "Numb," "The Emptiness Machine," "Faint," and "Up From the Bottom" — are also still present on the Official Rock and Metal Singles chart at the moment. "Numb" is the highest-ranking of the bunch, as it holds at No. 9. Both "The Emptiness Machine" and "Faint" climb from where they sat last time, this week settling at Nos. 13 and 28, respectively. "Up From the Bottom," meanwhile, reverses course and drops from No. 27 to No. 35. Linkin Park's seven current hits become even more impressive when compared to the next most successful names on the Official Rock and Metal Singles tally. Both Queen and AC/DC are tied for the second-most smashes this time around, with four apiece. Linkin Park nearly matches those bands' cumulative sum.

Linkin Park Makes History With Another No. 1 In 'Up From The Bottom'

Linkin Park's 'Up From the Bottom' rises to No. 1 on Billboard's Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, ... More becoming the band's Green Day-tying eighth chart-topper on the ranking. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) Linkin Park's comeback has been going spectacularly ever since the band started rolling out new music in late 2024. The rock outfit's latest push comes just ahead of the deluxe edition of From Zero, and the lead single from that project has been certified a true radio smash. This week, 'Up From the Bottom' becomes an almost-instant champion on a highly competitive tally, which would be unusual, except for the fact that both fans and radio programmers are still eager for more from the massively popular rock favorites. 'Up From the Bottom' climbs all the way to No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, Billboard's ranking of the most successful tracks across all rock-leaning stations in the U.S. That's as far from the bottom as a song can get, and it shows just how hungry audiences are for new Linkin Park material. This frame, the cut jumps from fourth place to the summit. It didn't take long for 'Up From the Bottom' to conquer rock radio. The single blasts to the peak position in its third week on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. That's a rapid ascent that only the biggest names in the genre can manage. According to Billboard, the track's total radio audience impressions surged by 28% from the previous frame, helping push it to the top rung. With this latest chart-topper, Linkin Park has now scored a total of eight No. 1s on the Rock & Alternative Airplay ranking. That's enough to tie the band with Green Day for the second-most leaders in the roster's history. Only Foo Fighters, with 11, have managed more. Linkin Park first hit No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart back in 2009 with 'New Divide.' The band returned the following year with 'The Catalyst,' and then again in 2012 with 'Burn It Down.' After that, it was nearly a decade before the band returned to the summit — but once it did, the wins started coming quickly. Since reigniting its radio success streak, Linkin Park hasn't missed. The group's last five singles sent to rock and alternative radio — including 'Up From the Bottom' — have all climbed to No. 1. That recent run also includes 'Lost,' 'Friendly Fire,' 'The Emptiness Machine' and 'Heavy Is the Crown,' with the last two featured on the original edition of From Zero.

Linkin Park's New Single Is A Fast Bestseller

Linkin Park's new single "Up from the Bottom" debuts at No. 8 on iTunes, helping launch the deluxe ... More edition of From Zero as "Heavy is the Crown" continues to succeed. HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - MARCH 17: (L-R) Colin Brittain, Emily Armstrong, Mike Shinoda, and Joe Hahn of Linkin Park poses on the Winners Walk during the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards at Dolby Theatre on March 17, 2025 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) Linkin Park had been relatively quiet for several years, but in the past few months, the band has made something of a comeback. That revival continues today with a new song, and the group scores another quick sales hit that shows how dedicated its fans are to this day. The outfit's new single, "Up from the Bottom," recently arrived on iTunes, and longtime followers of the rockers have already pushed it into the highest tier on the platform. On Thursday night (March 27), Linkin Park dropped "Up from the Bottom," the new single the band had been teasing for some time. The rockers had hyped the cut across social media and built anticipation with interviews, and it seems the effort paid off. As of Friday morning (March 28), the track sits at No. 8 on the iTunes top songs chart in the U.S. "Up from the Bottom" is one of the highest-ranking new tracks on the U.S. iTunes chart at the moment. It currently stands as the second-loftiest debut, coming in just behind Mondo Cozmo's "Only Shine," which appears at No. 3. The current iTunes ranking includes a handful of high-profile debuts, including two others that join Linkin Park inside the top 10. Just one space behind "Up from the Bottom" is "Mayberry," a new duet by Rascal Flatts and Blake Shelton. That cut opens at No. 9. Ariana Grande's "Twilight Zone," which appears on the newly released deluxe edition of Eternal Sunshine, launches at No. 10. This new single isn't a standalone release — it marks the beginning of a new chapter in Linkin Park's career. "Up from the Bottom" is the lead track from the deluxe edition of From Zero, the group's latest full-length. That album originally dropped in late 2024 and marked a turning point for the act, as it introduced several new members, including lead vocalist Emily Armstrong. From Zero is Linkin Park's first full album of new material since the passing of founding member Chester Bennington, and the extended take is coming this spring. While "Up from the Bottom" might be Linkin Park's latest push, the band is still riding high with another recent hit. "Heavy Is the Crown," also featured on From Zero, remains hugely successful across multiple Billboard charts. It's currently present on six different tallies, and this week, it places inside the top 10 on three of them. The tune nearly climbs to the summit on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, holding steady at No. 2. At the same time, the title also improves on the Alternative Airplay tally, pushing from No. 7 to No. 6—its highest position yet.
