Colin Fassnidge lets slip MAJOR spoiler for new season of My Kitchen Rules during hilarious Logies interview - as he reveals 'feud' with co-host Manu Feildel is set to explode
Colin Fassnidge was feeling frisky on the Logies red carpet on Sunday. The My Kitchen Rules star told Daily Mail that he was on notice to behave himself, if his wife had her way. The 51-year-old was in such a festive mood that he couldn't help but let slip some secrets from the upcoming series of MKR. 'Want to know who wins?' he teased, before adding, 'Remember this name - The Meat Master. 'After this show airs, this guy will be a meme,' Colin added, hinting at a potential fan favourite. Colin went on to admit that he and his fellow judge, Manu Feildel, had one of their most tense seasons as their friendly 'feud' continues. 'This year on the show, we went toe-to-toe,' Colin explained. 'Get ready for it... this is why I have grey hair,' he added. Colin also admitted that he and Manu clashed with some of the new contestants, too. 'A couple of people don't really like us,' he said, cryptically. Colin said that there were further tensions between himself and Manu when the pair filmed another series - their new travel program, Off The Grid. The reality show sees the two men, who are often at odds with one another, travel around New Zealand in a caravan. 'Me and Manu, living in a caravan farting and arguing,' Colin said when describing the series. Asked if they argued frequently while travelling together, Colin admitted: 'Loads. Manu is a very grumpy man and he snores!' Off The Grid was announced as part of Channel Seven's 2025 programming lineup at the network's recent Upfronts event in Sydney. It has already aired in New Zealand where Colin explained it hit 'number one' in the TV ratings. Colin told Yahoo Lifestyle the idea for a road-trip series had been brewing for years. 'Manu had an idea to do a thing called "A Big Lap Around Australia" and no one wanted to do it, but when we were in New Zealand I said: "We should do it in a caravan". It was Manu's idea, but I made it better,' he said. The celebrity chef duo have certainly been known for trading barbs in the past and Colin added that viewers could expect a few spicy exchanges on the show. 65th TV WEEK LOGIE AWARDS WINNERS AND NOMINATIONS TV WEEK GOLD LOGIE – Most Popular Personality on Australian Television Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, 9Network Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Lisa Millar - Back Roads, ABC News Breakfast, Muster Dogs: Where Are They Now, Muster Dogs: Collies & Kelpies, ABC Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER Poh Ling Yeow - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Ricki-Lee - Australian Idol, Seven Network Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Todd Woodbridge - Tipping Point Australia, Australian Open, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, 9Network - WINNER Zan Rowe - Take 5 With Zan Rowe, ABC New Year's Eve, ABC Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent Guy Montgomery - Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont Spelling Bee, ABC - WINNER Hailey Pinto - Home and Away, Seven Network Jenny Tian - Taskmaster Australia, Network 10 Kate Miller-Heidke - The Voice, Seven Network Kylah Day - Territory, Netflix Sofia Levin - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, 9Network - WINNER David Speers - Insiders, ABC Michael Usher - 7NEWS, 7NEWS Spotlight, Seven Network Peter Overton - 9News, 9Network Sarah Ferguson - 7.30, ABC Tara Brown - 60 Minutes, Dangerous Lies: Unmasking Belle Gibson, 9Network TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Drama Lloyd Griffith - Return To Paradise, ABC Michael Dorman - Territory, Netflix Robert Taylor - Territory, Netflix Sam Corlett - Territory, Netflix Sam Neill - The Twelve, BINGE / FOXTEL - WINNER Tai Hara - Return To Paradise, ABC TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Drama Alycia Debnam-Carey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Anna Samson - Return To Paradise, ABC Anna Torv - Territory, Netflix Ayesha Madon - Heartbreak High, Netflix Kaitlyn Dever - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Aaron Chen - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Ben Miller - Austin, ABC Clancy Brown - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Luke Cook - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Michael Theo - Austin, ABC Patrick Brammall - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Harriet Dyer - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Jenna Owen - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan Kitty Flanagan - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Leighton Meester - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Sally Phillips, Austin - ABC Vic Zerbst - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actor Ashley Zukerman - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Darren Gilshenan - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Glenn Butcher - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Mark Coles Smith - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Matt Nable - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Sam Delich - Territory, Netflix TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actress Aisha Dee - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Chloé Hayden - Heartbreak High, Netflix Julia Zemiro - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Marg Downey - The Newsreader, ABC Michelle Lim Davidson - The Newsreader, ABC Tilda Cobham-Hervey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Best Drama Program Bump - Stan Heartbreak High - Netflix Return To Paradise - ABC - WINNER Territory - Netflix The Newsreader - ABC The Twelve - BINGE / FOXTEL Best Miniseries or Telemovie Apple Cider Vinegar - Netflix - WINNER Critical Incident - Stan Fake - Paramount+ How To Make Gravy - BINGE / FOXTEL Human Error - 9Network Plum - ABC Best Entertainment Program ABC New Year's Eve - ABC Australian Idol - Seven Network Countdown 50 Years On - ABC Dancing With The Stars - Seven Network The Voice - Seven Network - WINNER Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight - 9Network Best Current Affairs Program 60 Minutes - 9Network 7.30 - ABC 7NEWS Spotlight - Seven Network A Current Affair - 9Network Australian Story - ABC - WINNER Four Corners - ABC Best Scripted Comedy Program Austin - ABC Colin From Accounts - BINGE / FOXTEL Fisk - ABC - WINNER Good Cop/Bad Cop - Stan Melbourne International Comedy Festival - ABC Optics - ABC Best Comedy Entertainment Program Gruen - ABC Hard Quiz - ABC Have You Been Paying Attention? Colin Fassnidge one word takedown of a nasty troll who makes inappropriate comment about Julie Goodwin's weight loss
Colin Fassnidge has come to the defence of Australia's own Julie Goodwin following vile comments made online about her recent weight loss. The Irish chef, 51, took down a nasty troll on the MasterChef star's Instagram this week when they left an unkind remark beneath a recent post she made. While the comments have since been turned off on the photo of Julie's slimmed down frame, many saw Colin come to her rescue with a single cutting word. 'Tool,' he wrote in response to one critic, with fans following in his stead to call the person a 'bully'. 'Disgusting comment. Grow up,' another added. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Colin and Julie appear to be friends behind the scenes of the TV industry, after the pair made a guest appearance together on My Kitchen Rules last year. It comes after Julie, 54, issued a statement defending her recent weight loss after fans raised concerns about her health. The former MasterChef Australia star shared an update on Instagram on Thursday after a new photo, in which she looked very slim, was posted to her account. Her dramatic transformation led to comments from worried followers. 'Thanks to all who have expressed concern about my health. I am well and I am within the healthy weight range. My doctor concurs,' she wrote. 'For those who have asked me for advice or tips, I am not qualified to provide this. 'It's advice that should be sought from your trusted health professionals, not from me. I'm a TV cook. 'For those who want to comment on the shape and condition of my body please, do it on your own page because I'm tired of reading it.' 'For that reason I'll be turning off comments on this post,' she continued. 'For all of us can we please find something more interesting to talk about. 'Can we please model kindness to our kids and grandkids and can we please leave this obsession with people's looks back in the 1980s. Peace and love.' Julie was prompted to speak out after a selfie shared this week led to comments inquiring about whether she is 'sick'. 'I'm actually concerned... to be honest, but if you are healthy and well there is nothing to worry about,' one fan commented. 'Oh Julie… too much weight loss,' another chimed in, while one more said: 'She is sick. She looks shocking.' 'Julie you are awesome, but are you okay?' someone else asked, with one more posting: 'Are you okay Julie? You don't look okay. Hope there's nothing wrong.' 'She looks like a skeleton,' one more person wrote, with yet another saying: 'OMG you look so ill.' Others defended Julie, with one person writing: 'Love how people speculate she is on the jabs. My bet is she is looking after herself and eating the right foods.' 'OMG Julie you look amazing! You have a beautiful smile. Keep shining!' another said. One more chimed in: 'Can everyone stop commenting on Julie's weight and telling her she's too thin? 'All you're doing is projecting on her what YOU think she should look like. If she had always looked like this, no-one would say anything. 'Just be happy for her that she's happy, her doctor's happy, and she's healthy!' Julie recently revealed she had lost more weight following her dramatic 'accidental' transformation, which saw her drop a whopping 20kg almost a decade ago. Taking to Instagram, Julie shared a selfie of her looking thinner than ever following an appearance on Sunrise. Julie let her greys grow and flaunted a more natural colour for her locks while showcasing her weight loss since winning the cooking show in 2009. The kitchen guru looked slim as she encouraged fans to try her chicken pie with potato bake topping. Despite her makeover, Julie still donned her signature wide-frame glasses in the post, while wearing a black and white striped shirt. Back in 2016, Julie revealed her dramatic weight loss had nothing to do with dieting and was certainly no cause for celebration. 'It's not that I've gone on some stupid, sad diet and dropped a whole heap of weight in a hurry. It's not anything like that,' she told Women's Weekly at the time. 'I am running a business and running around like a mad thing, and sometimes I forget to eat, none of which is healthy.' Julie reprised her MasterChef appearance in 2012 for the MasterChef All Stars series. She went on to appear on Ten's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.

Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge shares his shocking My Kitchen Rules salary: 'Below minimum wage'
He's one of the most well-know celebrity chefs on Australian television. But My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge was paid a shockingly low salary when he joined the show. The Irish-born chef, 51, has revealed he was paid just $40,000 for his time on My Kitchen Rules in 2013, when he joined the show's fourth season. 'My first MKR, I got paid $40,000 for the year. That's below minimum wage,' Colin told the Confessions of a Reality Star podcast. 'I was still learning. And then after, when I saw what everyone else was getting paid, I was like, we need to have a chat.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. View this post on Instagram A post shared by CONFESSIONS OF A REALITY STAR PODCAST (@confessionsofarealitystar) In 2013, the minimum wage salary for full-time workers based on 38 hours was $622.20 a week, which works out to $32,354 a year, slightly less than what Colin earned. While many believe a stint on a reality TV series is a passport to fame and riches, often the opposite is true. Sadly, the latter seems to be the case for the current crop of contestants on the long-running series My Kitchen Rules. In September, an unnamed contestant from the 2024 season revealed to Daily Mail Australia that the going rate for burgeoning TV chefs was $1100 per week - barely above minimum wage. The Australian minimum wage is currently $24.10 per hour, or $915.90 per week based on 38 hours. The contestant said appearing on the reality show meant taking a pay cut for many, claiming that one castmate ended up in the red after filming. 'It certainly didn't cover our usual salaries,' they claimed. 'I think one of our castmates was in debt after filming.' Despite the series drawing a huge audience each season, the show's popularity is often not reflected in how the contestants are compensated, according to a Seven casting executive. 'A lot of people still think getting on TV will make you rich and famous. It doesn't,' they said. They added the excitement of being selected for the show often outweighs the meagre remuneration. 'By the time you have seen your contract most applicants are so excited to be picked, they don't care about money. That's what producers expect,' the source revealed. A former MKR participant also revealed to Daily Mail Australia that, during their time on the show, they were forced to work well outside hours expected of someone earning just above average minimum wage. 'The shoots were longer than we were told. There was no overtime,' the contestant revealed. 'We were not expecting how long we were required to be there. Some days we would be filming well into the night.' The unnamed casting executive also pointed out the disparity between what the hosts of reality shows can earn versus the pay packets of the contestants who drive interest in the shows for Australian audiences. 'TV is wild. If you are the host of the show you could be making millions. However, if you are the main character and usually the reason why people are talking about your series - you are on as low as $70 a day,' they said. A source also revealed to Now To Love that contestants were paid $1000 but had to pay for groceries out of that amount to practice. 'It's hard. We were spending up to $600 a week on food because you're encouraged to cook as much as possible,' the insider said.
