March Madness: Is this the greatest men's Final Four ever?

March Madness: Is this the greatest men's Final Four ever? Is this the greatest Final Four ever? That's a question asked in the latest episode of the College Basketball Power Hour podcast. Caroline Fenton, Ice Young and Jason Fitz provide five reasons why this Final Four stands above the rest. Advertisement 1. Top teams in history: Since the 1996-97 season, KenPom has been ranking college basketball teams. This year, all four Final Four teams —Duke, Houston, Florida, and Auburn — rank in the top 10 in KenPom's all-time rankings. This stat encapsulates not just this season's excellence but ranks these teams among the best in the history of college basketball since 1997. 2. Coaching and team dynamics: As Jason Fitz and Ice Young highlighted, these teams are not only led by some of the best coaches in the game but also feature outstanding players who shine in critical moments. The diversity in coaching styles and philosophies between established names like Bruce Pearl and young talent like John Scheyer adds layers of intrigue to the matchups. 3. Storylines and rivalries: The dynamics between familiar foes, such as Auburn and Florida meeting for the second time this season, bring an exciting storytelling element to the Final Four. Advertisement 4. Unprecedented talent: The talent pool across these teams is incredible, with each team boasting players who could be pivotal in any final moment. Players like Cooper Flagg and Walter Clayton Jr. are examples of individuals who have consistently delivered when it matters most. 5. Dramatic atmosphere: As Ice noted, the venue in San Antonio being a de facto home-like advantage for Houston adds another layer, creating what could be an electric environment if Houston makes the championship game. In essence, this year's Final Four is not only about having four No. 1 seeds squaring off but the confluence of history, talent, coaching acumen, and an enthralling environment, making it arguably one of the greatest ever in NCAA history. Dan Hurley's 'egomaniac' behavior is a bad look for UConn

Yahoo Sports' Caroline Fenton, Jason Fitz and basketball analyst Isis 'Ice' Young discuss the Connecticut head coach's antics in the tunnel following the Huskies' second-round loss to Florida in the NCAA tournament. Hear the full conversation on the 'College Basketball Power Hour' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more To your point, I though about UConn, Florida, the game itself, awesome. Like that's, I'm almost sad that we got that matchup so early in the tournament. That's the kind of matchup that I would have loved to have seen in the Sweet 16 or the Elite Eight, but uh, where do we rank Dan Hurley's little postgame outburst? Just because of Dan Hurley, just because he's off the rail doesn't mean it's OK to make statements like that, like March Madness. You don't get every call. You don't get every other call. So I also feel like it's just a bit immature from a coach like Dan Hurley. Take the loss, bro. Take the loss, go home, go back to the stores, they still love you. Get in the portal, go rebuild, and see if we're as good as you think you are. But it's the thing Dan Hurley, that was at Craig and showing two rings to fans. Be bold in that way. And now we're surprised, but we're going to give this a passing the rest of you. No, bro, you also just locked the gate. Take the hell like everybody else in March. It is undeniable to me at this point that Dan Hurley is being treated differently by the media, by the people that cover him, by my friends at ESPN. He is clearly being treated differently because people behind the scenes like him. And because people behind the scenes like him, they're giving him benefit of the doubt that doesn't exist for other coaches. I think it's absolutely asinine. And I think at some point, this is Dan Hurley, who sits there to his players. We all know that coaches tell their players at some point that everything you do represents the logo on your chest. So I guess I would ask Dan Hurley, do you feel like the way you act? Is the proper representation for University of Connecticut? Cause I don't. And the fact that it is now known that the athletic director from Connecticut went to the person that posted that video and said, take it down or I'll ruin your life shows you that there is an absolute problem culturally with the Connecticut basketball program, with Connecticut sports. I believe them. My heart of hearts that if it was any other coach, if it was any other coach that didn't have that, we would destroy it. The kid gloves we handle Dan Hurley with is unacceptable. At this point, it is fair to call him what he is, which is an egomaniac that acts like a child every time he doesn't get his way on the court. That is not a representative, uh, representation of how somebody should lead young men. Close

Which teams are GUARANTEED no. 1 seeds in NCAA tourney?

Join Caroline Fenton, Jason Fitz & Ice Young as they unravel the madness from the first week of March on the latest episode of College Basketball Power Hour! The trio starts off with a recap of the biggest moments from the weekend including Trey Holloman & Michigan State's routing of rival Michigan, Bree Hall's dominant defense for South Carolina in the SEC women's tournament and Steph Curry announcing he'll join Davidson athletics as assistant General Manager. Several women's conference tournaments were decided over the weekend with Kara Lawson, Duke women's head coach, hoisting the ACC trophy and Hailey van Lith leading TCU to their first Big 12 title. Caroline, Fitz & Ice debate which four teams are worthy of the no. 1 seeds in the men's and women's NCAA tournaments. For the men, could Auburn lose out on being the overall no. 1 seed after two losses to round-out their regular season? And if so, is Duke's strength of schedule tough enough to give them the edge? The Houston Cougars have proved they're worthy of a no. 1 seed, but where does that leave Florida, Tennessee & Michigan State? In the women's tournament, USC & UCLA have clear cases for being no. 1 seeds, but could UConn be left out of the top teams despite beating Dawn Staley's Gamecocks? Plus, you can't forget about Texas and Notre Dame! To wrap, the trio previews the SEC men's tournament which will likely prove to be a must-watch from the first round all the way to the championship game.
