Watch: Ugly scenes mar College Corinthians' Munster Youth Cup win over Pike Rovers
The Munster Football Association have launched an investigation into the ugly scenes that marred College Corinthians' Munster Youth Cup final victory over Pike Rovers. Padraig McGrath was the hero as Corinthians defeated Rovers 3-1 in the JAKO Ireland Munster Youth Cup final at Turner's Cross on Sunday afternoon. But the showpiece occassion ended in controversial circumstances as players and supporters clashed on the pitch in injury time and also after the match between the Cork and Limerick teams had concluded. The boiling point is believed to have come after a player from each team was sent off by referee Darren O'Rourke late on before Corinthians were soon crowned champions. A mass brawl then ensued before the guards were called and arrived in huge numbers while an ambulance was also required to aid an injured College Corinthians player, although he did not require hospital attention. "I can't go into anything at this stage as this is so fresh, but a fair and full investigation will take place immediately once we get the referee's report," Barry Cotter from the MFA told the Echo. The MFA committee will meet in the coming days to discuss the incident while College Corinthians and Pike Rovers have not commented on the incidents.

College Corinthians come from behind to beat Douglas Hall in U16 cup final
College Corinthians 3-1 Douglas Hall (AET) Goals from Matthew Sullivan and Edmund Burke were the difference as College Corinthians came from behind to defeat Douglas 3-1, after extra-time, in the U16 JOMA/SportsGear Local Cup final at Turner's Cross. The eventual winners trailed through a MacDarragh Lynch goal late on but they equalised through James McCarthy in the dying seconds. Corinthians then wrapped things up with a breakaway strike at the St Anne's End. It was a final in every sense with clear-cut chances hard to come by and both goalkeepers, Alex Daly and Edward Pierce, standing up when needed. Liam O'Regan did fire the ball just over the bar at the end of the first half for Douglas Hall and Corinthians had one of their best opportunities three minutes into the second half. Douglas Hall fully went for it late in the game and out of that came the MacDarragh Lynch header which opened the scoring. James McCarthy forced extra-time from the same position in the dying seconds, and Mathew Sullivan did it to win it at the start of the first period. Douglas Hall had to push up as time started running out, and that meant room for Edmund Burke to break and get the third goal. COLLEGE CORINTHIANS: Alex Daly; Aaron O'Sullivan, Cormac Sheehan, Sam Aluko, Matthew Sullivan, Alex Morely, Edmund Burke, Charlie O'Riordan, David Clarke O'Mahony, James McCarthy, Alex O'Herlihy. DOUGLAS HALL: Edward Pierce; Cillian Ross, Darragh O'Flaherty, Mark Keeshan, Jamie O'Halloran, Luke Murray, Mark O'Keeffe, Tom Collins, Jack Punch, Liam O'Regan, MacDarragh Lynch. Referee: David Quinn

College Corinthians overcome Mervue United after extra time to land FAI Youth Cup
College Corinthians 2 Mervue United 1 (after extra time) College Corinthians lifted their first ever FAI Youth Cup as they defeated Mervue United after extra time at Eamonn Deacy Park on Sunday. Kai O'Neill proved to be the hero as he struck a brilliant winner in the additional period of play needed after Dawith Dems Woldemariam cancelled out his earlier finish in normal time. O'Neill opened the scoring in the final in the 43rd minute when he raced onto Ty Corcoran's precise through ball before clipping it past the keeper and into the back of the net with the help of the post.
