WA state patrol vehicle hit by suspected DUI driver
EVERETT, Wash. - A trooper's vehicle was stopped to respond to a crash in Everett when it was hit by another driver. Timeline The crash happened on I-5 in Everett on Saturday morning, creating additional traffic issues for early commuters near the 112th park and ride. The Washington State Patrol trooper had stopped at a crash site, putting out flares and switching on emergency lights to warn drivers to stear clear of the the HOV lane, according to WSP. Then, a driver suspected of driving under the influence hit the vehicle. The trooper was not in the SUV at the time of the crash. What's next The driver causing this second wreck has been arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bellevue, WA police investigate attempted kidnaping
The Brief Bellevue police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of an attempted kidnapping in the Lake Hills area on Friday. The suspect allegedly accosted a 16-year-old girl as they both got off a Metro bus. BELLEVUE, Wash. - Bellevue police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an attempted kidnapping that happened Friday afternoon. What they're saying Officers responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping in the parking lot of the Lake Hills QFC shortly after 4 p.m., located near 145th Place Southeast and Southeast 16th Street. Police said a 16-year-old girl was approached by the suspect after exiting a Metro bus, which the suspect had also been riding. A passerby intervened, and the suspect ran away. Police used a K9 in an attempt to locate the man, but he was not found in the area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and gray shoes or boots. Fight between neighbors leads to deadly Pierce County, WA shooting
The Brief A fight between neighbors reportedly led to a deadly shooting in the Waller area of Pierce County Friday afternoon. Deputies say the two neighbors involved in the shooting had a history of dispute calls in the past. The suspect in the shooting was arrested without incident. WALLER, Wash. - A fight between neighbors reportedly led to a deadly shooting in Pierce County on Friday. What we know It happened in the Waller area, along 44th Avenue East and 60th Street Court East around 4:30 p.m. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, a man called 911 and reported that he shot his neighbor. Deputies quickly got to the scene, but the victim was already beyond help. The neighbors involved in the shooting had a history of dispute calls, Sheriff's Department spokesperson Carly Cappetto says. The suspect was taken into custody without incident after deputies arrived. He has been cooperative, as of Friday afternoon. Detectives are now conducting interviews with witnesses to try and determine what happened. This incident remains under investigation.
