Texas A&M football coaches will be included in College Football 26

Texas A&M football coaches will be included in College Football 26 After 11 years, the massive fan base of the former NCAA Football video game franchise disappeared due to various issues related to what we now call Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). However, during the summer of 2025, EA Sports released its first installment since 2013, renamed College Football 25. Selling millions of copies since its July release, the franchise is back in complete form, as College Football 26 looks to improve in several areas and will now include the likenesses of several high-profile coaches, including Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, offensive coordinator Collin Klein, and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman. This is no surprise given the importance of the 2025 season for the Maroon & White. Thanks to GigEm247's Carter Karels, here's how EA Sports is incorporating the likenesses of over 300 coaches to enhance the game plan from a realistic standpoint. "EA Sports released its official reveal trailer for the game Thursday and announced more than 300 current college football coaches – including assistants – agreed to have their likeness featured in addition to various players. It will mark the first time the game has ever incorporated real-life coaches in that way." Within the game, coaches who agreed to participate will be seen on the sideline with playbooks highly similar to the scheme for each team, and in Dynasty mode, coaches can be selected to lead a specific program, which is another exciting feature that will breed plenty of creativity for longtime users of the game. College Football 26 will be released worldwide on Thursday, July 10. What 'elite' quality is Texas A&M lacking to contend for an SEC Title?

Texas A&M's 2025 football team will need to answer several burning questions before the season begins, but if we're being honest, nothing matches the need for redshirt sophomore starting quarterback Marcel Reed's need to improve as a pocket passer to pair with his already elite skill set as a runner. This is both an internal and national perspective, as nearly every one of us who covers the Aggies knows that outside Reed's development in the passing game, Texas A&M's roster is talented and deep enough at nearly every position to contend in the SEC in 2025, but as we all know, quarterback play usually determines every team's success, and entering his second year at the helm, head coach Mike Elko OC Collin Klein are under pressure to get him up to snuff. Advertisement In a recent article by Bama Hammer, author John Mitchell listed Texas A&M as one of four SEC teams that are considered contenders, but lack one elite quality, including LSU's offensive line, South Carolina's running game, and Ole Miss's new quarterback, Austin Simmons. For the Aggies, it's no surprise that Mitchell mentioned Marcel Reed's pocket passing as the weakness that could result in Texas A&M finishing 8-4, or worse next season. "Texas A&M ran out of gas down the stretch last season, but Mike Elko seems to have the ball rolling in the right direction in College Station. Like Ole Miss, 2025 will depend a lot on what they get out of the QB position. Marcel Reed is one of the most dynamic running QBs in the country, but has he grown enough as a passer to maintain offensive balance? He should have plenty of help at WR as the Aggies added NC State's KC Concepcion and Mississippi State's Mario Craver in the Transfer Portal. We know Elko will field an aggressive defense, but if the Aggies want to be a legitimate threat in the SEC, Reed will have to make that leap." Leaping a passer is never guaranteed for some dual-threat quarterbacks, but Collin Klein's system, built around the run game, play action, and the intermediate passing game provides Reed an easier pathway to gaining a rhythm in the pocket during the first two games of the season before taking on Notre Dame on the road in Week 3. Watch Texas A&M's starting QB show off his arm strengh this offseason

Texas A&M's 2025 football season will be determined by how the Aggie offense performs behind starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who enters his first full season as the starter after last season's QB carousel with Conner Weigman. After working hard this offseason leading to the 2025 Maroon & White spring game, Reed still has a way to go as a passer, but showed improvement in the pocket, delivering several impressive throws during the game, while his enhanced wide receiver room, led by transfer KC Concepcion, showed off their separation skills, as the room is much faster compared to last season. Advertisement For those who feel Reed does not possess the arm strength to become a reliable passer who can be the reason the Aggies win games when a balanced offense can't be achieved, Reed's Father, Rod Reed, posted a video of his son working out this month, showing off said arm strength and accuracy on the process. When judging a quarterback at the Power 5 level, completing the deep pass, especially connecting on post routes in the middle of the field, is vital to success, but in OC Collin Klein's system, short and intermediate passes to slowly and methodically move the ball down the field is the key to a balanced offense, as the Aggies' run game is expected to keep Marcel Reed to having to win multiple games with his arm. While Reed's ability to make plays with his legs will continue to be a big part of the Aggie offense, having more weapons in the passing game, which also includes former Alabama/Texas tight end Amari Niblack will surely help get things rolling early. Last season, Marcel Reed threw for 1,864 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. 2027 4-star QB out of Illinois has moved up his commitment date

2027 4-star QB out of Illinois has moved up his commitment date Texas A&M's vast history of recruiting elite quarterback prospects has flown under the radar as the program's second Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel, was considered a three or four-star prospect who initially intended to commit to Oregon before ultimately choosing the Aggies. Under former head coach Kevin Sumlin, Manziel's two-year journey led to landing five-star signal callers Kyler Murray and Kyle Allen, who, despite their short careers in College Station, saw Texas A&M as a premier destination. Even under Jimbo Fisher, long-time starter Kellen Mond was a five-star prospect who still holds several A&M records. However, after Mond's departure, it's been a rough go from a health perspective, as quarterback Conner Weigman, now with Houston, could not stay healthy. Current starter Marcel Reed is the next Aggie quarterback looking to become a consistent force ahead of his first full starting season. In the 2026 class, Texas A&M OC Collin Klein deserves credit for landing four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga, while in the 2027 cycle, four-star Trae Taylor, one of the ascending prospects in the class, has moved his commitment date up, now just weeks away. After visiting College Station late last month, head coach Mike Elko and Collin Klein reportedly made a significant impact during Taylor's interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley, which could end up in the Aggies' favor. "This trip left a great impression on me," Taylor stated. "I think coach and I finally connected more than just coach and player this weekend." Taylor will now announce his commitment on Thursday, May 1, according to Rivals insider Greg Smith, and is considering Nebraska, Michigan, LSU, Illinois, Georgia, Alabama and Texas A&M. According to Rivals, Trae Taylor is the 11th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 1-ranked prospect in Illinois, and the 4th-ranked quarterback in the cycle. 'He's a lot closer': Texas A&M OC Collin Klein details star running back's road back

'He's a lot closer': Texas A&M OC Collin Klein details star running back's road back Texas A&M's 2025 running back room is one of the roster's predominant strengths and is already showing its impact during the spring practice period. This offseason, the return of Le'Veon Moss from his season-ending injury was the first headline, while Rueben Owens's getting back to full strength after missing all but two games last season is equally important. Owen's prolific high school career was one of the many reasons he earned his five-star status in the 2023 recruiting class. After rushing for 385 yards and three touchdowns while making the 2023 SEC All-Freshman Team, Owens is determined to get back to his elite form, and offensive coordinator Collin Klein is in his corner. During Wednesday's press conference, Klein and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman spoke to the local media, discussing both sides of the ball from various perspectives. Regarding Owens, Klein is confident that the redshirt sophomore will be 100% healthy by the fall but is still working his way back, showing flashes on the practice field. "He's a lot closer. There are flashes of what I know he can be and what he knows he can be. He's still battling a little bit. I'm not worried about him at all. I expect him to be a big difference-maker." Owens is the most talented back on the roster despite Le'Veon Moss's breakout season. He is also the best-receiving back. Moss was woefully missed in last season's opening-season loss to Notre Dame, as the offense had to rely on Moss to lead the team in his absence. Consistent health is Owens' only obstacle, and I can promise you that head coach Mike Elko will keep him in bubble wrap during the summer to prevent any further strain.
