I found a way to get £55 'facial in a bottle' serum for £7.50 in LookFantastic's summer edit
I found a way to get £55 'facial in a bottle' serum for £7.50 in LookFantastic's summer edit The Summer Heroes Edit is priced at £45 yet valued at over £150, boasting savings of more than £100 Inside the LookFantastic Summer Heores edit for £45 It feels as though there's a new beauty box released every single week, with high street favourites often battling it out to offer the best value for money and most exciting, relevant and sought-after products. And this week, I've taken a peek inside LookFantastic's Summer Heroes Edit, which delivers a rather covetable haul of makeup and skincare for under £50. The edit is priced at £45 yet valued at over £150, boasting savings of more than £100. It not only balances indulgence and practicality, but also a great mix of higher end and more affordable brands too, ranging from Color Wow and Caudalie, to Iconic and Sol de Janeiro. Four of the six items are full-sized, meaning they'll see you right the way through the summer months and beyond, and as part of the set, each one works out at £7.50 apiece. It's pretty impressive, seeing as the featured ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum is worth £55 alone. READ MORE: Skin essential which makes you look 'lit from within' slashed by £20 at Boots READ MORE: Hand luggage bag that's the 'perfect fit for Ryanair' now has a massive 45% off LookFantastic's edits are often popular with shoppers - and for good reason - but there are some other beauty hauls that offer even better value when it comes to the average cost-per-item. ASOS recently launched their Luxury Travel Essentials Beauty Box for £40. It's worth £135 and contains eight products from top brands, including Elemis, Laneige, Sol de Janeiro and Elizabeth Arden, each averaging at £5 a pop. Then there's Boots' Get Holiday Ready Bag, valued at £124.50. The seven-piece edit is priced at £32, which means each item averages out at £4.57- making it slightly better value than ASOS, not to mention it's the cheapest of all three. Brands featured include Sol de Janeiro and Laneige, but also Milk, Bobbi Brown, MAC and more. But the LookFantastic set has been flooded with compliments from shoppers who ordered it. In fact, almost every review has been five stars, save for a single four-star rating. One shopper said: 'This box was worth it for the Espa and Color Wow products alone. Such a lovely little affordable luxury, any one of these items would be considered a 'treat' to myself usually." The ESPA and Color Wow products are what impressed me and many other shoppers the most Another added: 'Brought this box as I wanted to try the Espa serum, which is amazing. Have tried all the other products, which are equally as good. I love trying new products. Will buy a second one.' One said that the Sol de Janeiro cream was 'smaller than I expected', but still rated the edit five stars, adding: 'I love all the products especially the bronzing drops.' While a fourth penned: 'Amazing value box, I had to buy two. It's worth it for the Espa serum alone!' A personal favourite of mine was the inclusion of the Color Wow Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish, worth £22.50. Among its fans is Claudia Winkleman's stylist, Amy Short, who revealed she uses it on The Traitors' star to achieve her covetable shine. I've used the mini version for months and love how it effortlessly tames flyaways while adding shine without making my hair greasy, so the box made for a great opportunity to stock up on the full size. The products inside the box are worth a combined £150 The Caudalie Beauty Elixir is another must-have in my summer beauty arsenal. It's a fantastic multi-functional product that can be used as a toner, setting spray or midday refresh. Its spa-like botanical scent and skin-calming properties make it a staple that I find myself reaching for repeatedly throughout the day. The box's hero product, the ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum is ideal for anyone battling dry skin, made worse by the humid weather. It delivers hydration and radiance in a formula that feels like a facial in a bottle. It's no wonder multiple shoppers snapped up a second box for this product alone. Inside the LookFantastic Summer Heores edit for £45 No summer edit would be complete without a nod to the beach-body classic, Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It is only a small tub, but it's the perfect size for traveling and the scent is insanely addictive. There's also Eucerin's Sun Face Pigment Control SPF 50 - a lightweight SPF that provides sun protection while sitting beautifully under makeup. The only product in the edit I wasn't sold by were Iconic London's Instant Sunshine Bronzing Drops. The button used to dispense the product had broken which made it tricky to use the product, and when I did manage to get some out, I found it way too dark for my skin tone. That's not to say that others wouldn't love it, though. A recap of what's in the Edit: Article continues below ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum 30ml (Full-Size) - Worth £55 Eucerin Sun Face Pigment Control SPF 50 50ml (Full-Size) - Worth £24 Iconic London Instant Sunshine Bronzing Drops 13ml(Full-Size) - Worth £22 Color Wow Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish 55ml (Full-Size)- Worth Over £22 Caudalie Beauty Elixir 30ml (Deluxe-Size) - Worth £18 Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 25ml (Deluxe-Size) - Worth £10 While there are beauty boxes available at the moment that are more affordable or offer better value for money than the Summer Heroes Edit, what I will say about it as a beauty writer who has reviewed dozens of edits is that this one does feel like it's been really thoughtfully created with products that effortlessly slot into everyday routines and feel relevant to the time of year. The majority of items are full-sized, and those that aren't are perfect for travelling with, plus it's a really great opportunity to indulge in high-end, high-performance products at a fraction of the cost.

Kim Kardashian and Claudia Winkleman's hair stylists love this brand now on sale
As a beauty journalist, I sample more products than I can tally – but when it comes to haircare, one brand I consistently reach for is Color Wow. To mark the Bank Holiday, the brand adored by celebrity stylists is offering up to 30% off their cult-favourite hair products, making it the perfect time to give them a go, or replenish some hero products. Endorsed by the hairstylists of Claudia Winkleman and Kim Kardashian, the brand is renowned for their high performing hair care and styling formulas, from frizz-taming sprays to high-gloss serums. All are developed in-house under the guidance of founder Gail Federici who boasts an impressive 40 years in the industry, and even created the hair world's first anti-frizz product, Frizz Ease, during her tenure at John Frieda Hair Care. Starting yesterday (May 22) and continuing until Tuesday, May 27, the more shoppers spend, the larger the discount they can access. Customers who spend £50 or more can get 20% off with the code SAVE20, or unlock 25% off with the code SAVE25 when they spend £75. For those who wish to splurge, they can save 30% with the code SAVE30 when they spend over £100, reports the Mirror. However, they're not the only brand offering a sale. Amazon is also hosting its inaugural Everyday Essentials Week, providing seven days of deals on everyday essential items until 23.59pm on Tuesday, May 27. As part of this event, there's up to 40% off beauty products, including brands like NIVEA, KIKO and Neutrogena. In addition, Charlotte Tilbury is offering a 20% discount across their website with the code MAGICMAY. But which products should you be snapping up from the Color Wow event? Here are the Color Wow products I genuinely rate – and why they're worth adding to your basket. 1. Dream Coat Supernatural Spray - usually £27 This top-selling spray is Color Wow's ultimate anti-frizz treatment. It utilises innovative humidity-blocking technology to effectively waterproof your hair and keep frizz at bay for up to four washes. It also imparts a mirror-like, glassy shine to your hair and provides two levels of built-in heat protection. This lightweight yet highly effective product is a favourite among stylists for tackling summer frizz, even in extreme humidity. Claudia Winkleman's stylist, Amy Short, is a fan, using it to achieve the TV presenter's enviable shine. Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, known for working with Kim Kardashian, has also praised the product, saying: "The level of glossy shine is incredible. Nothing can create a mirror-like-finish like Dream Coat ...and keep the style humidity-proof for days,". 2. Pop and Lock High Gloss Finish - usually £22.50 A cross between a lightweight oil and a shine serum, this multitasking product smooths, hydrates, and adds significant gloss to hair. With three levels of heat protection, Pop and Lock safeguards against UV rays and colour fade. The sparkling high-gloss finish also locks down the cuticle and temporarily seals split ends. I love how this product gives my hair a freshly blow-dried look in seconds, leaving it glossy without feeling greasy, unlike some oils. A little goes a long way, and it's also available in a mini 12ml version for £9, perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. The product has an impressive 4.8-star rating from nearly 3,000 reviews. One customer raved: "This is great for controlling humidity and makes your hair shine!" One user raved about a hair product, saying: "For years I have tried to find a product that tames my frizzy hair and I have finally found the perfect product! My hair feels so silky and soft after using it as well and it lasts for days." Yet, some customers have encountered issues with the applicator. A customer commented: "The product is amazing! Looks as if it is going to be sticky but it's not. My menopausal hair is dry and frizzes easily. This is transforming my hair! I love it. However, I ordered the small applicator initially to try it and the hoke gets easily clogged up, difficult to use, it comes out thick and to get 1cm length even I have to pump it several times. If it wasn't such a good product I'd have given up and thrown it away. I also wish the black parts were clear plastic as it can't be recycled." 3. Color Security Shampoo, usually priced at £21.50 The Color Security Shampoo is particularly recommended for its effectiveness on coloured or treated hair, which many budget options fail to adequately protect. When I opted for a copper hair dye last year, this quickly became my preferred choice for maintaining my hair between salon appointments. The sulfate-free, residue-free shampoo cleanses gently yet thoroughly, without leaving any build-up that could weigh down the hair or irritate the scalp. In fact, every ingredient is designed to rinse off completely, leaving hair feeling squeaky clean which I find allows me to extend the time between washes. It's safe for all hair types and colour-treated strands, it's even touted as 'perfect' for extensions. 4. Money Mist Leave-In Conditioner - usually priced at £29.50 Given that my hair is quite fine, I don't really favour using thick heavy conditioners in the shower. Instead, I prefer a light, leave-in formula like the Money Mist from Color Wow. I stumbled upon this earlier this year and now I incorporate it into my regular wash routine, every time without fail. The weightless, glossy leave-in conditioner strengthens, detangles, and smooths, all while adding shine and providing heat/UV protection. No heat tools are required for activation. My favourite aspect is how it makes my hair feel so luxurious. That silky, swishy finish you get after a salon blowout? Money Mist delivers that without having to step out of the house. For a similar experience, I also quite fancy Lush Super Milk and Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-In Conditioner, both priced at £28. Moreover, if the discount wasn't enticing enough, any customer who spends over £60 on the Color Wow site will have the opportunity to select a complimentary travel-sized product at the checkout. I suggest securing a mini version of your preferred product and saving it for your next holiday, or choose a product you've been eager to try but were hesitant to purchase at full price.

But when it comes to the Color Wow event, which products should you be snapping up? As someone who isn't a huge haircare lover, it takes a lot to win me over and these are the Color Wow products I genuinely rate – and why they're worth your basket space. 1. Dream Coat Supernatural Spray - usually £27 This bestselling spray is Color Wow's holy grail anti-frizz treatment. It uses innovative humidity-blocking technology to literally waterproof your hair and keep frizz away for up to four washes. It also gives hair a mirror-like, glassy shine and provides two levels of built-in heat protection. Lightweight but super effective, it's beloved by stylists for taming summer frizz, even in the worst humidity. Among the fans is Claudia Winkleman's stylist, Amy Short, who revealed she uses it on The Traitors ' star to achieve her covetable shine. Chris Appleton, who is known as Kim Kardashian's go-to hairstylist, has also been vocal in his praise for the product, having previously said: 'The level of glossy shine is incredible. Nothing can create a mirror-like-finish like Dream keep the style humidity-proof for days,' 2. Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish - usually £22.50 A hybrid between a lightweight oil and a shine serum, this multitasking finisher smooths, hydrates, and adds serious gloss. With 3 levels of heat protection, Pop & Lock protects against UV rays and colour fade, plus, the sparkling high-gloss finish locks down the cuticle and temporarily seals split ends. I love how this product gives my hair that freshly blow-dried look in seconds, leaving it glossy without looking or feeling greasy like I've found with some oils. A little goes a long way and it even comes in a mini 12ml version for £9 which is ideal for throwing in your bag for on-the-go touch ups. The product has a near-perfect 4.8 star rating from shoppers, based on almost 3,000 reviews. One shopper wrote: 'This is great for controlling humidity and makes your hair shine!' Another added: 'For years I have tried to find a product that tames my frizzy hair and I have finally found the perfect product! My hair feels so silky and soft after using it as well and it lasts for days.' However, some have found the applicator to be a little challenging. One said: 'The product is amazing! I also wish the black parts were clear plastic as it can't be recycled.' 3. Color Security Shampoo - usually £21.50 Summer heat makes your scalp sweaty and ramps up oil production, which can cause irritation, clog follicles, even cause hair loss, so a good shampoo is a must. Many cheap formulas simply don't cut the mustard, especially on coloured or treated hair, which is where Color Wow's Color Security Shampoo comes in. When I dyed my hair copper last year, this fast became my go-to for maintaining my hair between salon visits. The sulfate-free, residue-free shampoo gently but thoroughly cleanses without leaving behind any build-up that could weigh hair down or irritate the scalp. In fact, every ingredient is designed to rinse off fully, leaving hair feeling squeaky clean which I find lets me go longer between washes, too. It's safe for all hair types and colour-treated strands, it's even said to be 'perfect' for extensions. 4. Money Mist Leave-In Conditioner - usually 29.50 Because my hair is quite fine, I don't really like to use thick heavy conditioners in the shower. Instead, I prefer a light, leave-in formula like the Money Mist from Color Wow. I discovered this earlier this year and now I use it as part of my regular wash routine, every time without fail. The weightless, glossy leave-in conditioner strengthens, detangles, and smooths, all while adding shine and heat/UV protection. No heat tools required to activate. My favourite part is how it makes my hair feel so expensive. That silky, swishy finish you get after a salon blowout? Money Mist gives me that without having to leave the house. For a similar experience, I also quite like Lush Super Milk and Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-In Conditioner, which are both £28. And, if the discount wasn't tempting enough, anyone who spends over £60 on the Color Wow site will be able to choose a free travel-sized product at the checkout. I recommend getting a mini version of your favourite product and stashing it away for your next holiday, or opt for a product you've been wanting to try for a while but didn't want to get at full price.
