Jersey Bulls have penalty point deduction appeal rejected
Jersey Bulls have lost their appeal to have a recent penalty decision overturned. The club thought they had won promotion from the Combined Counties League only to find out they had been docked three points for fielding an ineligible player earlier in the season. In a statement the club said: "In a decision received today (2 May), the Appeal Board said: 'Having played an ineligible player, League Rule 6.9 directs that the Club *shall* have any points gained from the match in question deducted'. "The Appeal Board concluded that there were no exceptional circumstances in this case, and that the process that had been followed was fair. "We will be deducted 3 points from our league campaign." The Bulls say they'll now turn their attention towards any play-off fixtures and await instruction from the Combined Counties regarding the date of the Semi-Final. As well as the points deduction the club was also hit with a £120 fine for the incident. The original decision - made by the Combined Counties League - was announced on 18 April.
