Eve Names New Female Rappers She Thinks Have Staying Power, ‘But I Don't Think It's Going to Be A Lot'
Eve recently shouted out Doechii, Cardi B, GloRilla, and Latto as the female rappers with the most staying power during an interview with Fat Joe and Jadakiss on the Joe and Jada Podcast. Reflecting on her career and sharing her thoughts on the current state of female rap, the First Lady of Ruff Ryders had some strong opinions. At one point, Fat Joe remarked that while there are many women in rap today making good money, he doesn't believe there are a lot of female MCs with 'sustainability.' Jadakiss chose to stay out of this conversation, but Eve agreed with Fat Joe's assessment. 'I think there are some, but I don't think it's going to be a lot. … I think Doechii will be there. I think Cardi has made her way. I mean, I love GloRilla; I think Glo will be there. I think there's some, but I don't think there's going to be a lot. … Latto's dope. There's a lot of crap out, but yeah.' Eve's comments come after Nicki Minaj showed respect for the veteran MC in 2024. In a heartfelt post, Nicki thanked Eve for being a bold trendsetter for women in rap. 'I DEFINITELY remember how, when you took the game by storm, there were some ppl who couldn't hide their insecurities,' Nicki Minaj tweeted in part. 'Even tho it's swept under the rug now, I remember that you handled it with grace but ALSO a big sprinkle of unapologetic TALENT & charisma. You soared & soared. Classic music w/the illest team, to the BIG SCREEN. And made it look easy, too…' Check out Eve's comments in the interview at the 33-minute mark below. Ozzy Osbourne Floral Tributes From Black Sabbath Bridge Mulched For Spreading on Rocker's Final Resting Place
Even in death, Ozzy Osbourne will never be far from his fans. After mourners left thousands of tributes to the late heavy metal legend on Black Sabbath Bridge in Ozzy's native Birmingham, England following his death from a heart attack on July 22 at age 76, those flowers and keepsakes have been preserved and cataloged for posterity. According to a video post from the Central Birmingham Business Improvement District, the items have all been methodically laid out on the floor of a giant warehouse to be sorted and tagged before they are shared with the Osbourne family. 'After we carefully moved all items from the Black Sabbath Bridge and Navigation St Mural to a secret location, they have been sorted by our team ready to be sent to the Osbourne family. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to pay their respects,' read the caption to the video. 'Every piece is being laid out individually, cataloged and treated with care,' reads an on-screen caption over footage of a workers in yellow vests carefully placing the bouquets on the floor in neat rows. The video also features images of dozens of framed photos and drawings of Ozzy, handwritten notes, along with Black Sabbath T-shirts and rows of Aston Villa scarves and banners honoring Osbourne's favorite football team, as well as dozens of stuffed bat plushies. 'Our team has been working to respectfully sort the items, ensuring they're preserved in the best possible condition,' a caption explains. The team is creating a digital record of every tribute over the next few weeks that will eventually be sent to Osbourne's family. In addition, all the flowers are being mulched and bagged, with the compost headed to Ozzy's final resting place. Osbourne's funeral cortege paraded past the Black Sabbath Bridge during his July 30 funeral in Birmingham, just weeks after Ozzy's final performance at the all-star Back to the Beginning charity concert. He was later laid to rest in a private ceremony for family and friends at the Osbourne family estate in Buckinghamshire. Check out a video of the process here. Kesha Reveals Cassie Ventura Sent Her Flowers Ahead of MSG Concert: ‘Love You Sweet Girl'
Kesha had someone special in her corner ahead of her New York City concert on Wednesday night (July 23): Cassie Ventura. On the evening of her performance at Madison Square Garden, the pop star shared a photo of a bouquet of pink roses and wrote on X, 'Thank u Cassie.' More from Billboard Britney or Whitney? During the show — which marked the latest stop on Kesha's Tits Out Tour — she also gave Ventura a special shoutout. 'Earlier tonight, Cassie sent me flowers backstage,' she told the crowd, according to E News. 'I just want you to know that all of this love is not only for me, it's for anyone who survived anything that they shouldn't have had to survive.' The exchange comes just a few weeks after the conclusion of Sean 'Diddy' Combs' criminal trial, at which Ventura was a witness. Despite the R&B singer's days of testimony — during which she detailed claims that Combs abused and trafficked her during their past relationship — Combs was ultimately only convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted on other, more serious charges of sex-trafficking and racketeering, all of which his legal team vehemently denied throughout the legal process. When the verdict came out, Kesha wrote on X, 'Cassie, I believe you. I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor.' See Kesha's post below. Bunnie XO Shares She & Jelly Roll Had a ‘Huge Win' in Their IVF Journey: ‘Praise Jesus'
Bunnie XO just had a breakthrough on her fertility journey with Jelly Roll. In a raw video posted to her Instagram on Monday (June 16), the podcaster tears up while hiding her face in her hands as she talks inaudibly on the phone, seemingly having just received a piece of good news. 'When you just got the call you've been waiting on for 5 months since this ivf journey started,' she wrote. The social media star and country singer have been trying to conceive through IVF for months. In the comments of her post, Bunnie clarified that she's not pregnant yet — 'We won't announce that,' she asserted — but they are one big step closer to growing their family. 'This is just a huge win for us,' Bunnie noted. The Dumb Blonde host has been open about her experience with IVF, documenting the ups and downs on social media. In March, she got real on her podcast about how 'lonely' the process can be, sharing, 'It's just you and these hormones and the waiting and the egg retrieval … It's a lot to bear.' Bunnie also recently clapped back at a troll who implied that she is too old to be trying for a baby. The same commenter also wrote that Jelly Roll — who has been open about his weight-loss journey over the past year — is 'so unhealthy looking.' 'Yes, I have decided at the ripe age of 45 that I would love to hear the pitter-patter of little feet with the man that I've been with for almost a decade,' said Bunnie, who is a stepmom to Jelly's two kids from past relationships, 17-year-old Bailee Ann and 7-year-old Noah. 'Not only am I financially in a great place to raise a child, but I'm also spiritually and mentally in a great place because I have been in the darkest places before and I drug myself out from the depths of hell,' she added at the time in a video on her Instagram Story. 'Did you know that I was pregnant three times before we decided to do this IVF? I am so thankful that God did not let me have a baby when I was 20 years old because that poor child would have been through so much s–t with me. This is the perfect age.' See Bunnie's post about her IVF win below. Macklemore's Seattle Home Burglarized By Intruders Who Bear-Sprayed Nanny: Report
Macklemore's Seattle home was the target of a robbery early Saturday (June 7). According to The Seattle Times, the pair of burglars stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, shoes and designer watches after bear-spraying a nanny inside the Capitol Hill residence. Macklemore's three children were sleeping inside the property while it was being ransacked, but they were left unharmed. The nanny reportedly bit one of the burglars and escaped before going door-to-door in the neighborhood looking to be let in to call 911. One of the burglars allegedly helped clean her eyes of the mace while the other demanded they be brought to the location of the 'jewels.' A police report acquired by The Seattle Times stated that the nanny was then thrown to the ground and had her phone stolen. She claimed not to see any weapons on the burglars, who had their identities hidden behind face masks, gloves and tactical vests. Authorities arrived at the scene after the burglars fled and safely brought Macklemore's kids to the care of another family member. The rapper was performing in Ireland at the time of the burglary over the weekend. Billboard has reached out to representatives for Macklemore and the Seattle Police Department for comment. On the music front, Macklemore released his politically-charged single 'F—d Up' in February, which saw him stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine. All proceeds from the single were donated to the non-profit UNRWA USA.
