A source told me: 'It was quite an intimate affair initially — they had a nice dinner with their closest friends and family to kick things off. "Then more of their loved ones turned up to celebrate with them in style later in the evening. 'They all had a brilliant time and Mabel and Preye looked so in love.' I'm told TV presenter Miquita Oliver — who Mabel has previously described as her 'big sister' — as well as her telly chef mum Andi Oliver, were among those celebrating at the V&A, which usually costs at least £10,000 to hire for wedding parties. Mabel got engaged to Preye, son of former Spurs footballer Garth Crooks, last November. After Preye popped the question, she proudly showed off her sparkling diamond ring in a video online. In January she revealed their relationship is the 'healthiest' one she has ever been in. Mabel also said recently that her mum, Swedish singer Neneh Cherry, 'just cries all the time' out of excitement about her wedding. But it sounds like her dad, singer and producer Cameron McVey, might have been harder to impress — as he was not best pleased with one of her exes. Watch moment huge pop star gets engaged to son of footy legend after shock proposal Earlier this month on YouTube series Comfortably Speaking, Mabel revealed: 'One time a guy pulled up to my dad's house in a Lamborghini and I remember my dad just being like, 'Never bring a man to my house again until you're serious'.' She added of her parents: 'I think the thing that they are proudest of is that I'm more able to be myself and express myself.' Mabel and Preye are obviously in Mad Love — and I for one couldn't be happier for them. Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club.

Mabel: My mother is crying with excitement over forthcoming marriage
The Don't Call Me Up singer said both her parents are thrilled about her engagement to record label executive Preye Crooks, adding: 'I think the thing that they are proudest of is that I'm more able to be myself and express myself.' Mabel, who has also had top 10 singles with Mad Love and Boyfriend, said her father, music producer Cameron McVey, was not impressed by the last person she dated. She said: 'I remember one time a guy pulled up to my dad's house in a Lamborghini… and I remember my dad just being like, 'Never bring a man to my house again until you're serious'.' Mabel, who was the first guest on Michael Dapaah's new digital series Comfortably Speaking, which is broadcast on his YouTube channel, told him she finds awards ceremonies difficult. The singer, who won the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2020, said: 'They're like a pressure cooker for everything negative. 'It's not really about celebrating, it's just everybody there is anxious about what other people are thinking about them. 'I'm just like, 'What do people think about me?'' Mabel also said that coming from a family of successful musicians means some people think, 'Oh, well, you're a nepo baby so, like, you're shit.'
