SAN DIEGO -- Tens of thousands of fans — many in costumes — attended Comic-Con 2025, a four-day pop culture spectacle packed with celebrities and interactive attractions. Comic-Con International, held annually at the San Diego Convention Center, brings together fans who celebrate their favorite comic books, movies, television and video games and learn about what's next for their heroes and villains. This year's convention, which ran through Sunday and drew an estimated 135,000 attendees, included the first look at 'Project Hail Mary,' the new Andy Weir novel adaptation starring Ryan Gosling, George Lucas' first visit to Comic-Con, John Cena promoting 'Peacemaker' Season 2 in character and updates on a new 'Alien' series and 'Predator film.'

‘Lilo & Stitch' stars reflect on film's success and are eager for a sequel

She says she's been fortunate to celebrate the film's success with family and friends and, despite premieres and whirlwind interviews, she still gets to 'go to the beach and have fun all over again and I'm just the same.' Kealoha and Agudong are the breakout stars of the film, which is the biggest blockbuster of 2025, earning more than $1 billion. 'Our little blue friend Stitch is now a billionaire and we couldn't be more excited about it,' Carrere says excitedly. As for a sequel, Agudong says the trio are feeling 'hana hou,' a Hawaiian term for repeating or doing something again. 'Though, of course, we cannot confirm or deny the existence of any such project in this universe or the next. Sorry!' Carrere cheerfully noted.

This statement follows earlier reports from Comic-Con 2025, where a Warner Bros. insider told Cosmic Book News that Pattinson would not be brought into the interconnected DCU being developed by Gunn and Peter Safran. That insider comment aligns with what Gunn has consistently said in public. Pattinson's Batman is part of DC's Elseworlds label, which allows for standalone stories outside the shared DC continuity. Meanwhile, the DCU is moving forward with a separate Batman in the upcoming film The Brave and the Bold, which will feature a different actor and storyline. Although Gunn used the phrase 'right now,' suggesting the door isn't permanently closed, no plans have been confirmed to merge the two timelines. Industry speculation suggests future decisions could be influenced by the performance of DCU films, particularly Superman, which has reportedly grossed over $500 million at the global box office. Behind the scenes, some creative differences have surfaced, particularly around Gunn's lighter tonal direction with Superman and whether it would suit a traditionally darker Batman story. However, as of now, Pattinson's Gotham remains entirely separate.
