'I had my time': Mark Hamill on his appearance in Star Wars franchise future films

Washington DC [US], June 1 (ANI): The actor Mark Hamill is unlikely to return to the Star Wars universe in the future. He played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in 'Star Wars' films. In a recent interview with ComicBook as quoted by Variety, Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the first three franchise-spawning 'Star Wars' films, discussed his future in the immortal sci-fi universe. While he started his journey with 'A New Hope' in 1977 alongside Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, Hamill has no interest in continuing the saga. "I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called 'Star Wars' 'the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,'" he said. "We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I'm appreciative of that, but I think they should focus on the future and all the new characters," added Hamill as quoted by Variety. He continued, joking that he "disappeared in ['The Last Jedi'], I left my robes behind. And there's no way I'm gonna appear as a naked force ghost." Hamill's last major appearance as Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars" was as a force ghost in 2019's "Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker." He also made brief appearances as Luke with de-ageing and motion capture effects in "The Mandalorian" and "The Book of Boba Fett", reported Variety. "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" went on to become one of the most iconic films in history after its 1977 release, inspiring an endless march of spinoff series and follow-up films. As of today, there have been 12 total films, including the original trilogy, and countless TV shows set in the "Star Wars" universe. The upcoming instalments include 'The Mandalorian and Grogu,' starring Pedro Pascal as the masked drifter with baby Yoda, and 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' starring Ryan Gosling, reported Variety. (ANI)

Being an avid gamer, Rhodes' choice was easy: anyone in 'Metal Gear Solid.' "I feel like I'm slightly aging out of some of the characters that I really like," Rhodes said. "But it would always be anything 'Metal Gear Solid.'" "Like, if you need me to learn Russian to do Revolver Ocelot, I would do it. Put the hood on me, I'd do Cyborg Ninja. Rep. Jasmine Crockett Says Marjorie Taylor Greene 'Needs to Learn How to Read' and calls Attorney General Pam Bondi an 'accomplice' in Interview with Call to Activism's Joe Gallina.

Washington, District Of Columbia, May 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a new interview conducted by Joe Gallina, founder of Call to Activism, Rep. Jasmine Crockett delivered pointed criticism of Donald Trump, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene—while also reflecting on the personal values that brought her into public life. Call to Activism Logo Asked about Trump's reported attempt to acquire a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar for his presidential library, Gallina posed: 'Are you more surprised by the corruption of it all, or the fact that a president who could barely read has a library?' Crockett responded: 'I'm probably going to go with the latter.' When asked what makes her different than other Democratic lawmakers, Crockett responded: 'I think one of the things that makes me different is that I'm kind of okay with being fired. You know, I mean, that's important…ultimately, I recognize that the seat is not mine. I am the occupant of the seat. The seat belongs to the people, and I trust the people when they decide that they want somebody else. I'm okay with it. I'm accepting of that. On Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, she said: 'Reality is that we have an attorney general that is not an attorney general. She's an attorney general in name only. As far as I'm concerned, she's nothing more or less than an accomplice who is aiding and abetting a known criminal to continue to commit criminal acts.' Asked what she would say to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Crockett replied: 'She needs to watch PBS and learn how to read.' She later replied, 'She's cuckoo for coco puffs.' During the interview, Rep. Crockett participated in a segment titled 'Who Said It: Marjorie Taylor Greene or a Comic Book Villain?' Closing the interview, Crockett reflected on what she would tell her younger self: 'I'd probably tell myself to avoid politics, go actually meet the fake husband that they've all made up for me, maybe have kids, do something on the personal side of my life. I have dedicated my life to others. And honestly, you know, every job that I've had has been pretty thankless, but I've always felt a sense of purpose in doing it.' Matthew Lillard Teases Mike Flanagan's Bold, Timely Vision for Stephen King's CARRIE — GeekTyrant

There have been plenty of Carrie adaptations over the years and actor Matthew Lillard says the upcoming series version from director Mike Flanagan ( The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep ) is shaping up to be something different. Lillard recently joined the cast of Flanagan's reimagined Carrie series for Amazon MGM Studios, and in an interview with ComicBook, he shared his excitement about where this version is headed, and how Flanagan is steering it into very current territory. Flanagan isn't just updating the setting, he's also recontextualizing the story entirely, and even Stephen King is on board with it. Lillard said: 'Well, first and foremost, Mike Flanagan's, I think, a brilliant filmmaker, period. Working with him on Life of Chuck was like a dream, and then getting a chance to do this, I'm very honored to be in his world. So, he called, I said yes.' That creative trust is clearly mutual. Flanagan pitched Lillard on a new concept for Carrie , one that reflects the world we live in now. Lillard continued: 'The exciting thing for me here is that he crafted an idea based around what we're experiencing right now in the world, and shared that with Stephen King, and then Stephen King was like, 'Oh, that's a great idea.' So, it's Stephen King's first published book, it has gone through all these iterations. I think the exciting thing here is that Mike has found a way to make it relevant right now, and I think that it speaks to what we're all experiencing, and so I think that that's going to make a difference.' No plot details just yet, but Lillard's comments hint that this isn't just another blood-soaked prom redo. Flanagan is known for his emotionally rich, psychologically driven horror, and Lillard makes it sound like the series will be more of a cultural reflection than a simple retread. The 1974 novel tells the story of Carrie White, a shy teenage girl with telekinetic powers, dealing with relentless bullying at school and the psychological torment of her religiously fanatical mother. Summer H. Howell is set to star as Carrie, with Siena Agudong playing her infamous classmate and antagonist, Sue Snell. Flanagan's Carrie was officially greenlit last month and is currently in pre-production. No word yet on when filming begins or when it might premiere, but it will consist of eight episodes.

PlayStation owners warned NOT to play free game over ‘wiped saves' as players reveal they've deleted it from consoles

PLAYSTATION fans are urging gamers to avoid a free title they say is glitchy – and not even worth playing. The irate gamers have blasted the popular game, with one frustrated player moaning "I should have listened" before installing it. 3 Ark: Survival Ascended is one of the free games available to play with PlayStation Plus this month. That means PS Plus subscribers can enjoy the title without paying a penny extra. But some gamers say they're having trouble with the action-adventure survival title on PlayStation consoles. One player posting to Reddit said that they spent hours playing the game – only to lose all of their progress, as spotted by ComicBook. "I love crafting survival games, so I was very excited when this was announced to be on PS Plus," the user explained. "I played it for about five hours. Save and close out, take a break. "When I come back to it? Save file is gone completely. "I looked all over forums for answers and it just seems like this is something that happens on console." Other games responded to the post with similar concerns. One said: "Genuinely stay away from this game. You might think there is something good about it, but I can assure you there is nothing." Get an inside look at the new PS5 30th anniversary edition Another wrote: "I played Ark on my PS5 for about half an hour. Afterwards my PS5 screen started flickering, even outside the game. "Only powering down the console, waiting, and restarting fixed it." One added: "I can't even get it to start right. It's really glitchy for me right from the main menu. I said screw that and deleted it." And another said: "Well-known issue since launch." 3 Ark: Survival Ascended is a remaster of 2015's Ark: Survival Evolved, and sees players trying to survive a world inhabited with dinosaurs, monsters, and other players too. The original game was first released as an early access title on PC, but eventually landed on Xbox, Windows, iPhone and Android, and PlayStation consoles too. The Ascended remaster is out on Windows PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 (now more expensive after a recent UK console price hike). The Sun has asked game-maker Studio Wildcard for comment and will update this story with any response. BALATRO BONANZA Gamers are much more positive about another May entry to PS Plus: Balatro.
