Mark Hamill Was Asked If Luke Will Appear In The Rey Movie, And His Response Was Unexpectedly Hilarious
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If you were wondering how much Mark Hamill keeps up with upcoming Star Wars movies ever since Luke Skywalker died in The Last Jedi, this might be your answer. The former star of the franchise was asked about his character returning for the previously announced movie centered around Rey, and his unexpectedly hilarious response might've told us all we need to know. While we've seen Mark Hamill pop up a few times as Luke in Star Wars shows available with a Disney+ subscription, it appears his time in the movies may be coming to an end. caught up with the actor during his press tour for The Life Of Chuck, and asked him if he'd return as a Force Ghost in Daisy Ridley's return to the franchise. Surprisingly, the actor said he had no clue about the project: In what? Oh, I don't know about that. Now we play the game of whether or not Mark Hamill is being genuine, or he's doing the classic thing he's built a career on, and "acting." Was he oblivious to the fact Daisy Ridley was returning to Star Wars, or is he playing coy because he can't say anything of substance about his involvement? Disney+: from $9.99 a month w/ ad-supported planStar Wars is at home on Disney+, so pick up a subscription and catch up on all that's available. Wholesome entertainment for all the family, starting at $9.99 a month for its new ad-supported plan. Go ad-free and pay $15.99 a month or save 16% and pre-pay $159.99 for a Deal One thing that I would find hard to believe is that if Disney is bringing Rey back to the big screen, Mark Hamill would not be approached to reprise his role in the same way Alec Guinness served as the Force Ghost Obi-Wan for Luke. More On Star Wars 13 Star Wars Movie Facts You Probably Didn't Know Even if Mark Hamill said no to returning, and there's a chance he might have, considering his comments a couple of years back about going back to movies, but I can't imagine no one reached out to him with an offer. Star Wars fans love Luke Skywalker, and I would imagine it's expected that he'll be part of the fun. Perhaps we should prepare ourselves for the possibility that he's not involved? I think that it's hard to say. While it may be strange that Mark Hamill allegedly hasn't heard about this movie, it's worth noting that we still have a long way to go before the Rey movie is actually in theaters. The movie isn't on the 2026 slate and has not begun filming as of yet. I think it's fair to say there'd be no reason to bring Hamill into the mix at this point, especially if his role is as minor as a Force Ghost in the picture. We will see for sure whenever filming for the Rey movie actually gets rolling. Before that, now would be a great time to watch every Star Wars movie in order, as we prepare for the grand return to theaters with The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is out in 2026.

Clue revealed about Keanu Reeves's involvement in fifth John Wick film
Keanu Reeves' role in the fifth John Wick film has been uncertain, but the team behind the franchise have revealed a clue about his future. The John Wick films follow Reeves as a retired hitman seeking revenge on the men who killed the dog given to him by his late wife. The first movie was released in 2014, with sequels following in 2017, 2019 and 2023. A spin-off, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, was confirmed in 2020 and is to be released later this year. Although Reeves batted away rumours that he would be playing a part in the forthcoming movie, Lionsgate (the studio behind the film) have hinted that he may return in the future. 'This world continues to grow and expand in incredible ways,' Jenefer Brown, EVP and Head of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, told 'Up next, of course, we have Ballerina, which is our first spin-off movie and [we] can't wait for that to release to the world.' Brown added: 'Of course, we've announced we're working on a fifth John Wick film. I think there are more spinoffs to come, a TV series, video game.' Asked about the possible return of the titular hitman in a sequel, the Lionsgate representative said: 'We've shared that we're developing a fifth John Wick film... [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on baited breath waiting to find out.' Asked whether he was keen to step back into the part, the Matrix star responded: 'You know, the character's dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4. I know, I know, it's the Hollywood story. Right now, there isn't [a plan to return]." In a four-star review of the fourth entry, The Independent's critic Clarisse Loughrey wrote: 'Even at its nearly three-hour runtime, John Wick: Chapter 4 commits so nobly to its self-seriousness that it almost borders into camp. 'And yet, the franchise possesses both the self-confidence and the ingenuity to earn its boldness – even at one point replicating the 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia and its famous cut from a blown-out match to a shimmering expanse of desert.'

Okay, let's talk about those alleged Avengers: Doomsday leaks
[This article may contain spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday—although, since that movie hasn't even been filmed yet, god only knows, yeah?] Earlier today, the Marvel news ecosystem flew into a veritable tizzy—possibly even a kerfuffle—over allegations that concept art for next May's Avengers: Doomsday had leaked out onto the internet. Per an artist named Mushk Rizvi (whose social media and LinkedIn lists them as a concept artist for Marvel Studios) very briefly posted several images that were alleged to be concept art for the as-yet-unfilmed movie, and while these posts were quickly deleted, it wasn't quick enough for the internet. Now the images are floating around all over the place (we're not going to post them here, but even the semi-lobotomized Google of recent days will bring them up with a simple search), sending the speculation machines into overdrive. The upshot of all this is that—as might be expected, given that the 2027 Avengers movie is literally named after it—it's looking increasingly possible that this new duology of films, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will take major inspiration from 2015 event comic Secret Wars, in which Marvel villain par excellence Victor Von Doom finally managed to conquer reality for good. (I.e., for a couple of months a decade ago, until the status quo reasserted itself.) Among other things, the art shows Doom looming on his throne with Stephen Strange at his side, while the presence of 'Sheriff Strange' was a major part of comic-Doom's rule of 'Battleworld,' the small corner of reality he kludged together to rule over after the various members of the Marvel multiverse managed to blow each other to hell once and for all. Other images seem to also reference memorable bits of Secret Wars, including a medieval village filled with Hulks that seems reminiscent of the comics' concept of 'Greenland.' Other pictures reference a possible line-up of Young Avengers (including Kate Bishop Kamala Khan, and Billy Maximoff), although, if we're being honest, that particular picture is the one that makes us the most skeptical of this whole art dump, because it's hard to imagine Marvel attempting to reclaim its top position atop the box office heap with a movie that prominently features weirdo X-Men mascot character Doop. There's also a very odd image that shows what would appear to be a re-cast Black Panther, one where Star-Lord and Vision are roommates, and some shots that seem to show Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards on his knees before Doom. All of this, obviously, needs to be taken with huge, skyscraper-sized grains of salt; even if this concept art is real, it's just that: Concept art, suggesting possible ideas Marvel is exploring for the film, with no commitment to pursuing any of them. It is odd to note, though, that Secret Wars was essentially a massive finale, paying off, after decades, the idea of Doom finally triumphing over the rest of the Marvel universe. Using it in what's expected to be Robert Downey Jr.'s first major film in the role feels very odd, although the Russos have said they expect the film to 'challenge' audiences—and starting off with Doom suddenly in control of reality, and working back from there, would be a pretty hefty challenge for viewers to cope with. Dave Bautista keen to be involved in future superhero movies after Guardians of Galaxy 3
Dave Bautista doesn't want to be discounted from future superhero roles after concluding his run as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. While the former wrestler has no interest in playing Drax the Destroyer again, he is open to portraying somebody new in the superhero realm and has reached out to directors such as James Gunn and the Russo brothers to make that clear. "I do wanna be in that world, I'm a fan of that world, I'm a fan of comic books and that whole universe," Bautista said to "Marvel, DC, I just wanna be in it. I made that known to James, I made that known to the Russo brothers. Personally, I talked to them, all of them, and told them, 'Don't count me out. If there's a character that I'd be right for and that you want me for, man, I'd be totally open-minded to it.'" Bautista made his Marvel debut with the Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. He reprised the role of Drax for the next two Guardians films and a holiday special, plus Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Ahead of the third film's release in 2023, Bautista made it known that it was his final outing as the "silly" Drax as he wanted to pursue more dramatic roles. Today, he still remains firm with this position. "Drax is completely closed to me. Unless (Guardians director) James Gunn called me and asked if I would do something as Drax again, I just wouldn't be interested. If James called me, which obviously is not gonna happen," he explained, alluding to Gunn's new position as the head of DC Studios. "It's just the Drax character ran its course." Back in 2021, Bautista voiced his frustrations with the character, telling Collider that Marvel "dropped the ball" with Drax by making him into a one-dimensional comedic role.
