Make grand arrangements for I-Day fete, Collector directs officials
Anantapur: In-charge District Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma has directed officials to make grand arrangements for the 79th Independence Day celebrations to be held on August 15 at the Police Parade Grounds, Anantapur. Accompanied by AR ASP Ilyaz Basha and Assistant Collector Sachin Sahar, the Collector inspected the ongoing arrangements and participated in police parade rehearsals. He announced that as per the State government's directions, the celebrations will begin at 9:02 am. with the unfurling of the national flag by Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav, a resident of the district. He urged the public to participate and make the event a success. Officials were instructed to complete all arrangements by Thursday. ensuring a patriotic atmosphere. Tasks include stage decoration, police, NCC, and Home Guard parades, flag-hoisting arrangements, protocol adherence, security, invitation distribution, uninterrupted power supply, seating, drinking water, sanitation, traffic management, parking, barricading, mobile toilets, medical first-aid camps, and the PTC band. Awards of appreciation will be presented to those who rendered exceptional services. The Collector also directed departments to set up exhibition stalls showcasing state welfare and development schemes, and to organise cultural programmes by school students promoting national unity. All activities must be coordinated between revenue, police and other departments to ensure smooth execution from the start of the programme until the national anthem. The inspection was attended by forest, revenue, housing, health, agriculture, R&B, and other department officials, NCC cadets, police personnel and students.

Naidu keen to make state with highest per capita income in country
Amaravati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, after reviewing the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and key performance metrics with Planning Department and other senior officials on Sunday, set ambitious targets of reaching a per capita income of over Rs 3 lakh by 2025-2026 fiscal year and over Rs 5 lakh by FY 2029 towards the larger goal of achieving high living standards for the people of Andhra Pradesh, adding: "Andhra Pradesh should become the state with the highest per capita income. Government departments must work to create a better society and better living standards." The Chief Minister advised the Planning Department to 'work like NITI Aayog' and wanted each department to review its progress every quarter. Chandrababu Naidu observed that governance that prioritised vision, people, nature, and technology would yield the best results. Zeroing on reaching a per capita income of Rs 3,47,871 by the 2025–26 fiscal year, with a long-term goal of Rs 5.42 lakh per capita income by 2029, he said: "Government departments must create and execute forward-thinking plans in their respective areas. We must have a vision that aligns with short-, medium-, and long-term goals. We should identify global trends and seize emerging opportunities. All programmes must be centered on people, families, and society." Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the need to consider families as a unit while designing schemes and programmes, ensuring that basic needs were met, and initiatives taken to increase their incomes alongside welfare schemes. The Chief Minister called for government policies and public mindset to be aligned to benefit the environment. "If we develop vision-centered governance for the people, while protecting the environment and integrating technology, we will achieve good results. That is why governance must prioritise people, vision, nature, and technology and work in coordination for the best outcomes," he amplified. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of adapting to rapidly changing developments and shifts across various sectors. The GVA (Gross Value Added) was a primary factor in mining and agricultural production, he added. In the context, officials informed the Chief Minister that horticultural crops had generated a GVA of Rs 1,26,098 crore, while aqua-related industries had contributed Rs 1.12 lakh crore. Chief Minister Naidu clarified that, aside from economic development, providing quality living standards to the people was essential. He reiterated that 700 government services would be made available online starting August 15. Minister for Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs Payyavula Keshav, Chief Secretary K Vijayanand, and senior officials from various departments were present at the review.

If GST data is available live of all states, tax evasion can be curbed: AP FM
Anantapur, July 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav has felt that if GST data access is available live at the intra-state and inter-state levels of all states, it will be very useful to implement inter-departmental linkages to curb tax evaders and implement best practices. The Committee of Ministers formed to review the GST tax regime across the country met in New Delhi on Friday. The committee, headed by the Chief Minister of Goa, was attended by Finance & Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav, who is a member of the committee, and participated in the meeting through video conference from here on Friday. The Finance Minister told the media that in the meeting, the committee discussed issues such as SGST and IGST tax payments, identification of GST tax evaders, steps to be taken to curb them, steps to be taken to collect GST better and avoid tax leakages and best practices being implemented by various states. He said that various steps being taken in Andhra Pradesh for the implementation of GST and best practices were explained in the meeting. 'The AI-enabled App is very useful for the GST officials, 37 GST returns can be downloaded in seconds through automated verification, GST details, standard operating system, best practices are available through a comprehensive digital platform called Gnan Kshetram, analytics, enforcement and other aspects were explained to the committee through a PowerPoint presentation,' Payyavula Keshav revealed. The Finance Minister said that today's review was very fruitful and that he was very happy to share the data analytics and enforcement policies being implemented by many states. 'On behalf of Andhra Pradesh, I highlighted that if GST data access is available live at the intra-state and inter-state levels of all states, it will be very useful to implement inter-departmental linkages to curb tax evaders and implement the best practices and if it is done with Artificial Intelligence to make live information available, it will create a strong system,' the Finance Minister asserted.
