Odd Society Spirits — Distillery Review
Situated in a converted motorcycle garage in East Vancouver, Odd Society Spirits is a true craft distillery—meaning all of its spirits are fermented and distilled on-site, in small batches, using 100% BC-grown grain. Odd Society makes a wide range of spirits, from its Port-Barrel-Aged Wallflower Gin and Maple Canadian Whisky to its Bittersweet Vermouth and Mia Amata Amaro. This all means that those who stop by the distillery's on-site cocktail lounge have the opportunity to sample drinks that incorporate many of its products. The Paris, Texas, for example, uses Odd Society's Strawberry Wallflower Gin and Solera Barrel Wallflower Gin alongside cherry liqueur, spiced cocoa bitters, and arancello from North Vancouver distillery The Woods Spirit Co. Or there's the Hummingbird, which mixes Odd Society's Mia Amata Amaro and Commodore Canadian Single Malt Whisky with housemade pineapple tepache, Campari, spiced golden rum, Dubonnet, orange juice, and lime. Distillery diehards can also order a tasting flight of three or four spirits, or order a classic cocktail like a Vesper—made with Odd Society vodka and gin, of course.
