A pair of men are facing charges in connection with a shooting near University Park in Worcester that left a person with a graze wound from a gunshot. Luis Ozuna, 25, and Raymond Leblanc, 25, are each charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count each of armed assault to murder, firearm use in felony, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license and firearm discharge within 500 feet of a dwelling. A third suspect, Lugardo Flores, 25, faces the same charges, police said in a statement. At around 8:09 p.m. on May 27, Worcester police were called to the area of University Park, near the intersection of Illinois and Gates streets. Witnesses told police they heard between 10 and 12 gunshots. Police found several shell casings in the area. Some time after the incident, a 21-year-old arrived at a hospital with a graze wound to their head. Police described the injury as non-life-threatening. Two motor vehicles were damaged by the gunshots, police said. The shooting remains under investigation. A 33-year-old man accused of shooting his brother in a Northbridge home now faces a manslaughter charge, court records show. Christopher Lacour was previously charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the death of his brother, Jonathan, 36. The shooting appeared to be an accident, according to court documents. Police were called to 63 Legion Way at around 11:02 p.m. on May 21. Arriving officers found Jonathan Lacour lying face up on the floor between the living room and the kitchen, covered in blood, a police report filed in Uxbridge District Court reads. Officers found a single shell casing from a Ruger American 9mm semi-automatic handgun at the scene. Jonathan Lacour was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he was pronounced dead. During an interview with police, Christopher Lacour acknowledged he pulled the trigger on the gun that ultimately killed his brother, the report reads. Christopher Lacour pleaded not guilty to the charge during an arraignment in Uxbridge District Court, records show. Judge Gerald Lemire released him on personal recognizance. Lemire previously set a $10,000 bail for Lacour on the assault and battery charge. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 16. A 38-year-old woman died after being wounded in a car crash in Franklin on May 24 that killed her daughter, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey's office announced. The district attorney's office identified the woman as Minaben Patel, of Franklin. Patel was a passenger in a car driven by her husband that collided with a pickup truck being driven by 21-year-old James Blanchard, of Franklin, Morrissey's office said in a statement. Blanchard faces several criminal charges, including motor vehicle homicide while driving negligently and under the influence of alcohol, in connection with the crash. Another juvenile, Patel's son, was hospitalized after the crash. Patel's husband was released from the hospital after treatment. A spokesperson for the district attorney's office said no update was available on the boy's condition. 'The Norfolk District Attorney's Office and the Franklin Police Department are saddened by the loss to Minaben's family and we extend our heartfelt condolences,' Morrissey and Franklin Police Chief Thomas J. Lynch said today. The crash remains under investigation.
