(Source: Saugeen Shores Communications) Saugeen Shores' new Aquatic and Wellness Centre has received a $50,000 donation, amid construction. The donation comes from the Ewout and Lynn Heersink Family Foundation, a private charitable organization, to support the new community pool. The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2025, providing the community with an eight-lane pool, warm water leisure pool, fitness and wellness centre, dual indoor gymnasium and indoor track.

Some north central West Virginia pools push back opening dates

MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — Most outdoor seasonal pools open Memorial Day weekend in West Virginia, but with chillier temperatures in the forecast, some pools are choosing to wait. The Camp Muffly Pool in Monongalia County will be opening on May 31 instead of the originally scheduled May 24, the Monongalia County Parks & Recreation announced Tuesday. The high temperature in Morgantown for Saturday is only expected to be 64 degrees, which is 10 degrees cooler than the normal high temperature. The Randolph County Community Pool & Splashpad at the Elks has also pushed back its opening date to May 31.
