Popular Enterprise festival canceled
ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — A popular yearly festival in Enterprise set for this weekend has been canceled due to possible severe weather. 'Safety is our top priority, and we deeply regret having to cancel this event for ourcommunity,' said Blake Moore, Director of Community Services and Recreation. The 26th annual Festival in the Park was set to take place on Saturday, May 3 at Johnny Henderson Family Park. The festival will not be rescheduled, but the fireworks planned for the festival will be used at an upcoming city event. 'We know how much this event means to our community, and canceling it was not an easy decision,' said Mayor William E. Cooper. 'But the safety of our citizens, vendors, and city staff must come first. We appreciate everyone's understanding and continued support as we look ahead to future events.' Enterprise welcomes new director of recreation
ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — The City of Enterprise has a new Director of Community Services and Recreation. Blake Moore was recognized as the new director on Tuesday. According to the City of Enterprise, Moore was one of five candidates interviewed for the position last week. Enterprise Mayor William E. Cooper offered him the job on Friday. Cottonwood Police not disbanding despite rumors 'I am truly honored to serve the Enterprise community as the new Director of Community Services and Recreation,' Moore said. 'I am proud to say I grew up in Enterprise and have fond memories of participating in Enterprise Parks and Recreation programs and athletics. I am excited to have the opportunity to lead in this role and to continue to grow and expand our offerings. From athletics, to Farmers Market events, Main Street activities and tourism initiatives, I look forward to working with city staff to create memorable experiences for our citizens.' Moore has served as Superintendent of Enterprise Parks and Recreation since late 2016. There, he oversaw the operation and maintenance of the city's parks and creation facilities.
