Meghan Trainor announced as Minnesota State Fair 2025 Grandstand headliner
Meghan Trainor has been announced as a 2025 Minnesota State Fair Grandstand Series headliner. The singer will take the stage on Friday, Aug. 22, and tickets range from $56 to $125.75. Tickets officially go on sale on Friday, starting at 10 a.m., via the Minnesota State Fair's website. It will be Trainor's first State Fair appearance, having initially been scheduled to perform in 2015 before she canceled the show and the rest of her tour that year due to a vocal cord hemorrhage. The last time Trainor performed in the state was in 2014, when she was one of the acts for KDWB's Jingle Ball in December at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, according to Concert Archives. The "All About That Bass" pop star has garnered a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, achieved eight multi-platinum singles and two multi-platinum albums, sold out three world tours and received multiple industry awards and nominations since she dropped that diamond-certified single in 2014. Trainor has also starred as a judge on "The Voice UK" and FOX's "The Four: Battle for Stardom." She released her fourth studio album, "Takin' It Back," in 2022 and re-released her album "Title" to celebrate its 10-year anniversary on March 28, featuring two new songs, "All About That Bass (Remastered)" and "Better When I'm Dancin' ( Timeless Tour Version)." Trainor is the eighth headlining Grandstand Series show to be announced thus far, with the others listed as follows for 2025: The Avett Brothers and The Milk Carton Kids — Aug. 29

Chiodos ends show just a few songs into sold-out concert in Minneapolis
Chiodos ended its performance just a few songs into the show at The Fillmore in Minneapolis on Sunday night. The Michigan band said in a statement that its lead vocalist, Craig Owens, had "become quite ill" before the sold-out show began. "With the intention of doing his best to proceed on with the show, it soon became apparent that this was not possible," the band said. Chiodos added that it is arranging a rescheduled date with promoters, and all previously purchased tickets for Sunday's concert will be honored for the new date. The band also said it's figuring out a plan for refunds to those who can't attend the newly scheduled show. "Again, we are truly upset and sorry to have this happen, and we will make it up to you – in the meantime please extend your good vibes to Craig to get better soon," it aded. Those in attendance said the show only lasted for a handful of songs before the band ended it early. It happened only a few dates into the band's "All's Well That Ends Well" 20th anniversary/reunion tour, with the band saying that the tour will continue as scheduled. Prior to Sunday night, the last time the Chiodos made an appearance in Minnesota was on May 16, 2014 at The Garage in Burnsville, according to Concert Archives.

Glass Animals announce tour stop at The Armory in Minneapolis
Indie pop band Glass Animals has added a stop at The Armory in Minneapolis as part of the North American leg of its "Tour on Earth." The band is scheduled to perform with special guest Orla Gartland on Monday, Aug. 4. Presale tickets are on sale as of Wednesday at 10 a.m. and regular onsale tickets are available starting 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster's website. The announcement comes three years on the date since Glass Animals last performed in the state, which was also at The Armory, according to Concert Archives. The "Tour of Earth" supports the bands' fourth studio album, I Love You So F****** Much, released in July 2024. Since its debut, the album has amassed 250 million streams on multiple platforms. Glass Animals is best known for hits like "Heat Waves," "Gooey," "Take A Slice," "Youth," and others.
