Applications open tomorrow for new concert and event incentive programme
PUTRAJAYA: Starting tomorrow, concert and event organisers can apply for a new initiative aimed at enhancing Malaysia's concert and events sector. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced today that applications for the Concerts and Events Malaysia Incentive (CEMI) programme will be open from tomorrow until July 10. The initiative is part of a broader effort to attract high-profile international events to Malaysia. "This initiative has the potential to generate job opportunities, increase tourism, and contribute significantly to the national economy. "Under CEMI, financial incentives will be offered to event organisers who meet the set eligibility criteria. These criteria include the event's scale, its projected economic impact and tourism boost, involvement of local content, and adherence to the programme's guidelines," he said during the Communication Ministry's weekly press conference here today. CEMI is an initiative under the ministry's agency MyCreative Ventures.
