5 vehicle crash sends 1 person to the hospital
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — In the afternoon of June 4, a five-vehicle crash sends one person to the hospital. According to the San Angelo Police Department, the crash happened near the 600 Block of West 29 and involved five different vehicles. SAPD said a white Suburban was south bound on 29th Street when it struck a silver Nissan Sentra that was traveling east bound on 29th Steet. The white Suburban left the roadway and hit a blue Chevy Colorado and then continued into the parking lot of Cato Fashions. In the Parking lot the white Suburban struck a silver Dodge Challenger, which was pushed into dark grey Dodge Challenger. SAPD said the driver of the white Suburban may have had a medical issue causing this crash and was taken to the hospital. A witness in the crash that was still on scene told a reporter that a driver came out of the Walmart parking lot at that light and gunned it through them and hit a parked truck and another parked car before stopping before the building. TGSO jail roster down 'temporarily'
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office sent out a press release regarding their online jail roster. 'The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office would like to announce to the community that our Inmate Roster and Warrants on our website will be down for maintenance temporarily,' said TGSO. This press release came after a reporter spoke to Lt. Levi Vance, who works at the detention center and handles jail records, and which he stated that a technical issue caused by an update to the software used to manage the online inmate roster prevented booking entries from being input into the system. Lt. Vance reported that the issue was resolved 'around lunch' on May 29, but the online jail roster is back down. TGSO also stated in the press release that they will turn off the inmate roster daily alert notifications and will resume when the roster is back online. Crash Downtown sent 2 people to the hospital
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Around 3:25 p.m. on May 22, the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to a wreck that involved two vehicles in the downtown area that injured two people. According to a reporter from on the scene, there was two people being loaded into an ambulance. According to SAPD, both vehicles were driving on North Chadbourne street near the East 14th intersection when the vehicles collided. The officer on the scene said both drivers were sent to the hospital for minor injuries. SAPD said this is still an open investigation and the cause is still unknown. San Angelo woman wins $300 through Pay It Forward for community service
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Darlene, who is involved in many organizations in San Angelo, won $300 through KLST's Pay It Forward campaign, sponsored by Carpet Tech. Darlene was nominated by her friend Miss Alice by leaving a nomination on Miss Alice wrote that Darlene is very involved in many organizations in San Angelo like the prison ministry, the food and clothing ministry for project Dignadad, the Pregnancy Help Center, she provides food and clothes for homeless, she helps neighbors in need and the 'biggest one' is the sewing ministry she does with five other woman weekly for children all over the world; making dresses, skirts, shorts and head bands since 2010. In the nomination it was also written that Darlene travels all over the world with missionaries. Some countries she was gone to with ministries is Uganda, China, Kenya, Mozambique, Hati and more. She usually goes to places that have been hit by disasters. Darlene talked about how she believes in helping in people because it's part of God wants us to do. 'That's what God wants us to do, to help each other, support each other and love each other,' said Darlene.
