Man thrown from hood of moving car
HIGH POINT — A 23-year-old man was injured late Monday afternoon when he was thrown from the hood of a moving car after clinging to it for several miles, police said.
A witness told High Point Police Department officers that he followed a black Kia Optima along Baker Road in the eastern part of the city as the man clung to the hood until he was thrown off just after 5:50 p.m. at the interchange with U.S. 29, also known as Interstate 85 Business.
The man had a deep gash on the forehead, swelling around the nose and mouth and road rash on his arms and legs, according to the police report. He was taken by ambulance to Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
The police report listed the potential crimes involved as assault with a dangerous weapon, hit-and-run with personal injury and larceny.
