Sources recently alleged to Heat World UK that after Cruise made that comment about Kidman, which was his first public comment about her in over 20 years, he may want to turn things around for them and their two kids. For those who don't know, Kidman and Cruise met on the set of the hit film Days of Thunder and tied the knot a year later on Christmas Eve in 1990. They worked together on-screen again for the western film Far and Away two years later, and again in 1999 for Eyes Wide Shut. And as we said, they adopted two children together, named Isabella Jane, 32, and Connor, 30. Despite officials saying it was an amicable split, Nicole Kidman said she was blindsided when Tom Cruise filed for divorce from her in 2001. Before Kidman became the superstar she is today, she told Marie Claire, per Goalcast, that she felt like a trophy at the beginning of their marriage. 'I thought, I don't deserve to be here. We would go to the Oscars, and I would think, I'm here to support [Tom]. I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and to be seen and not heard.' Nicole Kidman excludes her kids with ex Tom Cruise from Mother's Day post
Nicole Kidman left two of her four children out of her Mother's Day post on Sunday. The actress, 57, shared two throwback photos of her and husband Keith Urban's two daughters, Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14, with her late mum, Janelle Ann Kidman, who died last year at age 84. 'My mother and my daughters in Uluru, beautiful memories … always,' Kidman wrote in her Instagram caption. 'Happy Mother's Day.' Kidman's post didn't mention her and ex-husband Tom Cruise's daughter Bella Cruise, 32, and son Connor Cruise, 30. The former couple adopted their kids while they were married from 1990 to 2001. Tom, 62, made a rare comment about Kidman in an interview with Sight and Sound magazine published Friday. Speaking about meeting with Stanley Kubrick to discuss making the 1999 thriller Eyes Wife Shut, Tom said, 'It was basically he and I getting to know each other. And when we were doing that, I suggested Nicole play the role [of Alice]. Because obviously she's a great actress.' Both Bella and Connor have remained out of the spotlight over the years. Kidman never posts them on her social media. Connor, a Scientologist like his famous father, lives in Clearwater, Florida, which is also home to Scientology HQ. In June 2024, Connor and his dad were photographed on a helicopter ride as they landed in London. Connor also made a rare appearance at a promo event for Tom's Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning film in NYC in July 2023. Bella, meanwhile, is an artist. According to her website, 'Bella has been drawing ever since her wee hands could pick up a pen. Since that point in time she's been evolving in her arts.' Kidman spoke about keeping her older children out of the public eye to Australian outlet Who in 2018. 'I'm very private about all that,' the Oscar winner said. 'I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is.' Back in 2008, Kidman told Elle that Connor and Bella were raised 'amidst a lot of love.' 'They are generous, kind and hardworking,' the Big Little Lies star said. 'And these are traits that I love to see in my children.' After divorcing Tom, Kidman married Urban, 57, in 2006. That same year, Tom tied the knot with Katie Holmes. They welcomed daughter Suri, 19, before splitting in 2012. The Jerry Maguire star has been estranged from Suri for nearly her entire life. The teenager is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

It's been 24 years since Tom Cruise divorced Nicole Kidman and he rarely speaks about her — until now. The former dynamic duo was married from 1990 until 2001 and shared two children, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30. After meeting on the set of Days of Thunder in 1990, they took their storied romance to the red carpet, becoming one of the biggest power couples in Hollywood. In 1999, their long-awaited film, Eyes Wide Shut, about a Manhattan doctor who embarks on a bizarre, night-long odyssey after his wife's admission of infidelity comes to light, was finally released. While the movie was a genuinely happy experience for them with director Stanley Kubrick, their marriage broke down shortly thereafter. Now, Cruise is breaking his silence about his ex-wife whom he rarely talks about. 'It was basically he and I getting to know each other,' the 62-year-old actor told Sight and Sound magazine, via Deadline. 'And when we were doing that, I suggested Nicole play the role [of Alice]. Because obviously, she's a great actress.' The couple worked hard to get the "tone of the film" accurate, and the intimate set created a "very unique experience" for them. "We arrived in the summer and basically we just started testing ... the script was just an idea," Cruise continued. "We [were] constantly rewriting the scenes and shooting the scenes and then reshooting the scenes to really find the tone of the film.' Kidman shared the personal side of working on that film in 2020 in a New York Times interview. "We would go go-kart racing after those [dark] scenes,' Kidman revealed. 'We'd rent out a place and go racing at 3 in the morning." She also spoke fondly about spaghetti dinners with Kubrick and their two kids. "We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set," she added. Kidman married country singer Keith Urban in 2006. They share two daughters, Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14. Cruise married Katie Holmes in 2006, but they divorced in 2012. They share a daughter, Suri, now 19.

The 63-year-old made a rare—and complimentary—comment about Nicole Kidman, marking the first time he has spoken about his ex in the press in more than 20 years. While discussing their 1999 erotic thriller film Eyes Wide Shut, Cruise recalled how he suggested to director Stanley Kubrick to cast the actress, who ended up portraying his character Bill's wife Alice. "I suggested Nicole play the role," the actor told the British Film Institute's Sight and Sound magazine in an interview published May 9, per Deadline. "Because obviously she's a great actress." Kidman won her first Oscar—for her leading performance in The Hours—in 2003, almost two years after she and Cruise finalized their divorce after more than 10 years of marriage. The Mission: Impossible actor had last spoken publicly about Kidman—with whom he raised daughter Bella Cruise, 32, and son Connor Cruise, 30—in 2002 while reflecting on the reason behind their breakup.
