Man jailed after stabbing victim through car window in Arnold
A man who stabbed another man through a car window has been jailed. Connor Gladwin approached his victim as he sat in his car in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, in the early hours of 8 March, before stabbing him in the chest. Nottinghamshire Police said the 23-year-old was identified on CCTV footage and his fingerprint was found on the victim's Monday at Nottingham Crown Court, Gladwin, of Hungerhill Road, St Ann's, Nottingham, was jailed for three years and nine months.
Police said Gladwin's victim, who attended the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with a deep chest wound, chose not to engage with officers. However, an investigation began after doctors confirmed the injury was caused by a footage revealed the victim's car had arrived in Front Street in Arnold at about 00:40 GMT, and he and another man attended a bar for a short period before leaving as part of a larger left the bar shortly after and walked towards the car, where he was seen speaking to the victim before reaching into the car window twice. Then, after an altercation with a number of other people, Gladwin folded an object in his hands and walked away, police said. He pleaded guilty to committing grievous bodily harm without intent and possession of a knife in a public place, the force added. Det Insp Julian Eminson-Ferry said: "Tackling knife crime is a priority for the force, so any report of a stabbing is treated with the utmost seriousness."The victim chose not to engage with officers, but following this incident, we used all the investigative tools at our disposal to identify Connor Gladwin as the offender and arrest him."
