Rodrygo informs Real Madrid & Xabi Alonso of his future plans

A major update on the future of Real Madrid star Rodrygo has this weekend surfaced online. This comes amid confirmation that the Brazilian has come to the decision to stay put and fight for his place in Spain's capital next season. Advertisement Frontman Rodrygo has of course taken his place centre stage in the headlines across Europe for several weeks now. This comes after a series of reports were forthcoming in the media, suggesting that the 24-year-old was seeking a new challenge this summer. A whole host of clubs, in turn, have been tipped as potential landing spots for Rodrygo, chief among them Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea. As alluded to above, though, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Saturday is anything to go by, then such suitors look set to be left disappointed. As per a report from Marca: 'Real Madrid have asked about Rodrygo's desire and ideas for the future. The Brazilian's response has left no room for doubt. He is determined to continue wearing the white shirt despite all the rumors surrounding his future.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Real Madrid 1st, Barcelona climbing: Updated list of Europe's most valuable clubs

A fresh insight into the most valubale clubs in Europe has this week been forthcoming, following the close of the 2024/25 campaign. And a pair of Spanish sides feature prominently towards the top of the list. Advertisement The info is provided by consulting firm Football Benchmark (as cited by Mundo Deportivo), who have calculated the 'Enterprise Value' of the continent's leading 32 clubs. Topping the pile once more at present are Real Madrid, whose current worth is estimated at a whopping €6.278 billion. Los Blancos are followed by a pair of Premier League clubs in Manchester City and Manchester United respectively in 2nd and 3rd. Barcelona, meanwhile, have jumped a pair of places after rattling off a domestic treble this past season, leapfrogging both Bayern Munich and Liverpool into 4th spot. This comes owing to 'a 26% reduction in personnel costs compared to the previous season', enough to push the Blaugrana's value to €4.459 billion. Conor Laird – GSFN

Sevilla star in surprise future U-turn

Something of a surprise update on the future of a member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Sevilla has on Monday surfaced online. This comes amid reports that, despite previous assumptions, Suso could yet stay put in Andalusia for the 2025/26 campaign. Wide-man Suso has long been expected to bring a close to his Sevilla stint this summer. Ahead of the expiration of his contract terms at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, the former AC Milan man went as far as to bid the Nervionenses' supporters farewell. In turn, it may come as something of a surprise to learn that, in fact, Suso's exit no longer appears nailed on. As per a report from : 'Suso has now expressed doubts about whether he will end up leaving or not, hinting that Sevilla have offered him the possibility of staying for another year, albeit reducing his salary and adjusting it to the club's financial situation.' Speaking to the media on the back of his side's season finale, a 4-2 defeat to Villarreal on Sunday, the 31-year-old explained: 'Everything is open. I'm going to think about it for a few days and be with my family. I want to make a good decision, with my heart.' Conor Laird – GSFN
