How many fans tuned in to watch Barcelona's victory over FC Seoul?
La Liga champions Barcelona have provided an insight into the numbers behind the club's live stream of their most recent outing. Hansi Flick's troops of course marked their return to action on Thursday. In the 2nd outing of the club's pre-season tour of Asia, Barcelona made the trip to South Korea, for a meeting with FC Seoul. When all was said and done, the Blaugrana made it two wins from two across the last week, courtesy of a dominant 7-3 triumph. And watching on from afar en route to as much were millions of the club's fans from across the globe. After issues with their live stream of last weekend's victory over Vissel Kobe, Barca made Thursday's fixture free to watch on YouTube as a good will gesture. And as alluded to above, the Catalans have since revealed the viewership numbers to have come from as much. As per a statement across the club's website and social media platforms: 'Over 2,100,000. Thank you to all the FC Barcelona fans around the world who watched today's game on the Club's official YouTube channel. Joan Laporta sends Camp Nou message to Barcelona fans
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has provided an update on the club's ongoing efforts to return to the Spotify Camp Nou. The subject of Barca's return to their beloved home ground has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya's capital once more over the last week. This comes after word was forthcoming that as much, again, had been delayed. After originally announcing plans to play next month's Joan Gamper Trophy match at the newly-renovated Camp Nou, the Blaugrana were forced to alter their plans, with the fixture now due to be played at Montjuïc. Speaking during an interview with this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the ongoing Camp Nou construction was put to Joan Laporta once more. And the Spanish patron went on to provide a lengthy response, with the key takeaway as follows: 'We're not considering the option of not returning to Spotify Camp Nou. Real Madrid continuing to monitor Arsenal star
The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are continuing to keep a close eye on the situation of a leading member of the defensive ranks at Arsenal. That's according to French outlet , who point towards William Saliba as the player in question. It is common knowledge across Spain at this point that Real Madrid are on the lookout for reinforcements at centre-back moving forward. Owing to the long-term fitness struggles of David Alaba, Los Blancos are expected to bring in a new stopper either this summer or next. To date, a whole host of players have in turn been tipped to take their talents to Spain's capital. Considered the most intriguing in the eyes of many, though, is the aforementioned William Saliba. Real Madrid have long been credited with a keen interest in the Arsenal stalwart, widely regarded as one of the standout defenders in world football. All of a Blancos persuasion will therefore no doubt be delighted to hear that their side's board are continuing to closely monitor Saliba's situation in north London. Barcelona star to miss 3-4 weeks with injury
An insight into the extent of the incoming absence facing Barcelona youngster Ibrahim Diarra has on Saturday been forthcoming online. The name of attacker Diarra has of course emerged as a prominent one in Catalunya's capital across the day to date. Unfortunately for the Malian, however, as much comes for less than positive reasons. Diarra was drafted into Barcelona's first-team setup for pre-season training this week, since going on to make a positive impression on the club's coaching staff. In turn, it came as a blow when word was forthcoming that the 18-year-old has suffered an injury setback. As per a statement across Barca's website and social media platforms earlier today: 'Barça Atlètic player Ibrahim Diarra has sustained a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right leg. He will not travel with the first team on the tour to Japan and South Korea, and his return to the first team activities will depend on the progress of his recovery.' So, just how long is Diarra expected to be out of action? As per a report from : 'The club does not specify the time of absence although this type of injury does not usually fall below 3-4 weeks.' 10 Barcelona players to be left out of pre-season tour of Asia
Hansi Flick and the Barcelona coaching staff are planning to whittle down their player options considerably for the club's upcoming tour of Asia. That's according to Jijantes, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation. Barcelona's star-studded squad, fresh off a domestic treble in 2024/25, reconvened at the club's training ground to kickstart pre-season training earlier this week. In an effort to allow as many players as possible the opportunity to prove themselves for the campaign ahead, Hansi Flick called up a number of young talents, as well as fringe members of his squad, for the camp. All told, 36 players reported for training at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this past Monday. As alluded to above, though, this group is set to be reduced significantly upon Barca jetting off for an upcoming pre-season tour of Asia. As per a report from Jijantes: 'Hansi Flick plans to take around 26 players on the Asian tour out of the 36 who passed the physical and medical check-up.' Conor Laird – GSFN
