Medicine Hat officer accused of obstructing Police Service Regulation investigation
A Medicine Hat police officer will be charged with obstructing justice.
A Medicine Hat police officer will be charged with obstructing justice.
According to the Edmonton Police Service, the alleged criminal conduct occurred while it was looking into complaints by a former Medicine Hat Police Service employee.
Edmonton was investigating the complaints at the request of the southern Alberta force.
Const. Noel Darr was arrested on Monday.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Medicine Hat on Aug. 27.
He is not currently in custody.
'Const. Darr is currently away from work for unrelated reasons,' the Medicine Hat Police Service said in a release issued on Monday.
'However, the MHPS Office of the Chief will review his duty status following a review of investigative materials when received from the EPS.'
The Medicine Hat Police Service also said it will not provide additional details at this time, as the case is before the court.
