Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Pamela Anderson has shot down allegations Meghan Markle plagiarized her cooking show during an interview on live TV. The Duchess of Sussex debuted With Love, Meghan on Netflix in March, but some online critics suggested the idea was a copy of Anderson's show, Pamela's Cooking With Love. Andy Cohen asked the Naked Gun actor whether she agreed during her appearance on his show Watch What Happens Live. As Ever/Instagram Why It Matters Meghan's Netflix show has faced a barrage of criticism from reviewers across the U.S. media as well as the many social media users who routinely mock the duchess. And Meghan's five-year deal with the streaming giant ends in September, raising questions about whether it will be renewed. In that context, Meghan might well find it something of a relief to hear someone come to her defense. What To Know Cohen, previously a guest on Meghan's first podcast Archetypes, asked Anderson: "On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking With Love? There were articles saying that these two shows were very similar." Anderson replied: "One. I didn't." Cohen said: "One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?" Pamela about being compared to "With love,Meghan" — That 1 (@ihtiandrs12) August 4, 2025 "No," Anderson replied. "I didn't really look, but I mean I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing." A clip of the exchange was viewed more than 92,000 times after being on X with the message: "Pamela about being compared to 'With love, Meghan.'" What People Are Saying One post on social media read: "Meghan Markle copied Pamela Andersons gestures right down to hand-movements in her Netflix show." Another account wrote: "Meghan Markle's With Love, Meghan vs. Pamela Anderson's Pamela's Cooking With Love? The difference couldn't be clearer. One is a genuine celebration of food, family, and authenticity, while the other is a shallow, copy cat attempt to sell a polished image." Pamela's show... — Meghan Markle Parody (@queenofmemes80) February 24, 2025 "Pamela's show exudes warmth. She highlights chefs and their craft, focusing on family, making it relatable to anyone who values good company and fresh home-cooked meals. It's down-to-earth, inviting, and real." Others defended the duchess, with one writing: "The British Media fetish of creating imaginary enemies and scenario about Meghan Sussex and EVERY Famous Person, that walks this earth needs to be studied. So happy Pamela Anderson & Gwyneth Paltrow didn't entertain the #TBM and the never ending fantasies they continue to create." Another said: "She also said she didn't invent cooking shows, & Meghan is doing her thing. Absolutely. Meghan is doing her own thing. She's living life on her terms. Good on Pamela for refusing to join in the hate campaign against Meghan. It's nice to see there's still decent & honest people about." What Happens Next Meghan has until September to renegotiate the Netflix TV deal she signed with Prince Harry in September 2020. Netflix is also an equity partner in her lifestyle business As Ever, which launches its latest wine, a 2024 rosé, on Tuesday. Jack Royston is chief royal correspondent for Newsweek, based in London. Pamela Anderson Reacts To Meghan Markle Copying Rumors

Pamela Anderson isn't feeding into the foolish idea that there's something amiss between her and Meghan Markle. If you cast your mind back to earlier this year, you might recall that some definitely-legit sources were claiming that Meghan's show With Love, Meghan was a copy of Pamela's Cooking with Love. The co-creator of Pamela's show even told the Daily Mail, "We take pride in planting the first seeds – creating original, distinctive programming that audiences love – and it's a compliment to see our work with Ms Anderson resonate so strongly." However, the timelines don't actually make sense for any influence to have taken place, as Meghan's show wrapped filming before a trailer for Pam's series had even come out (and, besides, rich ladies have been making aesthetic shows that feature food for decades). But still, slop is grist for the mill. In the "Plead the Fifth" segment on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Pamela was asked, "On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking With Love? There were articles saying that these two shows were very similar." "One. I didn't," Pamela replied. When pressed on whether she saw any "similarities," she replied, "No, I didn't really look. I mean, I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing." Good thing no tabloids are writing about this as if it were a negative exchange!

Pamela Anderson says there is no feud with Meghan Markle over cooking shows

Pamela Anderson is not worried about claims that Meghan Markle copied her new food series. The former Baywatch star spoke about the issue on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. When Cohen asked her to rate, on a scale of one to ten, how much Markle's With Love, Meghan looked like her own Pamela's Cooking With Love, Anderson answered 'One.' She added, 'I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing.' How the rumour started Fans noticed that both shows feature garden scenes, casual kitchen chats, and celebrity guests. Anderson's trailer came out in October 2024. Markle's teaser followed three months later. Online threads pointed to similar camera angles and even matching font styles in the titles. Some viewers accused the Duchess of releasing a 'frame-for-frame' copy. Different networks, same idea Pamela's Cooking With Love is streamed on Amazon Prime. Episodes show Anderson and a guest chef picking vegetables in her Vancouver garden before cooking a meal outdoors. Markle's eight-part Netflix show centres on simple dishes and home-grown produce in Montecito. Both series mix recipes with lifestyle tips, but Anderson stressed that overlap is normal in food television. Anderson's calm response Anderson told Cohen she had only seen quick clips of Markle's programme and did not spend time looking for likenesses. She joked that there is room for anyone who wants to share food and stories on screen. Her relaxed tone cooled much of the online debate. What critics say about Markle's show With Love, Meghan drew mixed-to-negative reviews (≈38% on Rotten Tomatoes; 37 on Metacritic). It briefly entered Netflix's Top 10 in its first week, and mid-year engagement tallies cited by several outlets place it outside Netflix's Top 300. Even so, Netflix has ordered Season 2. Positive buzz for Anderson Anderson's series has earned strong notices and a high user score on IMDb. Executive producer Jesse Fawcett said any comparison is a compliment because it proves their team set a trend others want to follow. Anderson plans to film a second garden season next spring. No reaction from Meghan Markle has not commented on Anderson's remarks. Sources close to her say she is focused on shooting new episodes and expanding her As Ever lifestyle brand. Observers doubt she will address copy-cat talk directly. They note she has stayed silent through similar critiques from Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow. Two stars can host cooking shows without a feud. Anderson's light answer suggests she sees no threat. Unless Markle fires back, the story may cool as fast as it boiled up. For viewers, the choice is simple: prime-time garden meals with Pamela or California comfort food with Meghan. Either way, dinner is served.

Pamela Anderson's very surprising response to Meghan Markle 'rip off' cooking show as Baywatch star breaks silence on With Love, Meghan's similarities to her Cooking With Love

Pamela Anderson has finally broken her silence on claims Meghan Markle "ripped off" her cooking show. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, released her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan in March. Her show featured almost identical themes, language, and overall aesthetics to the Baywatch star's Cooking With Love on Foxtel. Fans of Pamela were livid to see Meghan parade around her kitchen decorated like the blonde bombshell, with both women making meals with famous chefs to share with family and friends at dinner parties. Pamela spoke to Andy Cohen on Sunday's Watch What Happens Live!, where the host asked her what she made of the copying claims. "On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love?" he said. Pamela shut down the question and surprisingly defended Prince Harry's wife. "One. I didn't - I didn't really look, but I mean, I didn't invent cooking shows", adding Markle 'is just doing her thing'," she said. Pamela first teased Cooking With Love in February 2023 and shared the official trailer released last October, months before Meghan shared hers. Both series open with the stars strolling in a garden and admiring the crops before echoing each other's sentences. "I just always have wanted to take things to another level," Pamela said. Meanwhile, Meghan declared: "I've always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it." Pamela and Meghan also said they are reaping knowledge from the guest chefs, and both double high-fived their guests. The former Playboy model likened herself to a "sponge soaking it all in", adding, "I'm learning a lot". Similarly, Meghan tried her hand at beekeeping where she said she's "just learning." Eagle-eyed viewers took to X to say Pamela's series was "a more authentic version of what Meghan was trying to achieve." "And it looks as though Meghan has copied everything! The trailers are so similar it's freaky," one person wrote. Another viewer said "the Duchess of Plagiarism" had "copied" Pamela down to almost every scene. A third bemused fan added Meghan's cosplay of Pamela was unbelievable, and her ideas and words don't have "a dust of authenticity". "It's all fake, contrived, edited, scripted but still messy and shallow," they said. Nevertheless, other people said the Duchess was likely developing her trailer when Pamela released hers, making their similarities coincidental. It comes after Netflix last month decided not to renew the Sussexes' $100 million deal when it expires in September following a series of flops. New figures released by the streaming giant found With Love, Meghan failed to break into the top 300 shows. Meanwhile, just 500,000 people watched Harry's Polo project, described as an "unintentionally hilarious profile of the world's stupidest sport".

Meghan Markle's Critics Now Claim That She Copied Pamela Anderson, And It's So Grim

Note: This post is an Op-Ed and shares the author's personal views. Heeeeeelp, people are trying to create drama between Meghan Markle and Pamela Anderso n. Yes, the tabloids are all a-flutter with claims that Meghan's new Netflix show With Love, Meghan is actually a copy of Pamela's previous show Pamela's Cooking With Love. God forbid a rich lady be in an aesthetic kitchen! Google Neil Sean, who's quoted as a "Royal expert" in the New York Post and Fox News (he's a former journalist who now makes videos saying negative things about Meghan), argues that Meghan copied Pamela "frame-for-frame." One of the pieces of "evidence" is that he — and other folks on Reddit and the like — say that a trailer for Pamela's show came out in 2023. Pamela's Garden Of Eden was out in 2022, but that's a show about Pamela restoring her grandmother's home. Except... Pamela's Cooking With Love was only commissioned in 2023. The trailer actually dropped last October. Filming for With Love, Meghan had wrapped by July 2024. What's more, With Love, Meghan was supposed to come out on Jan. 15 — before Pamela's show — but was postponed due to the California wildfires. The co-creator of Pamela's show told the Daily Mail, "We take pride in planting the first seeds – creating original, distinctive programming that audiences love – and it's a compliment to see our work with Ms Anderson resonate so strongly." The thing is, Pamela's Cooking With Love is a show where Pamela brings on chefs to cook vegan meals. Meghan's show is about cooking, yes, but also gardening and hosting. More broadly, cozy and escapist TV shows set in a well-lit kitchen aren't new. Google cottagecore. The discourse is framed as being Pamela's "fans" who are criticizing Meghan but, as far as I can tell, it's less Pamela's fans and more people who just don't like Meghan Markle. What's more, I remember when Pamela was the pop culture punching bag. It feels grim to now celebrate her in order to rip into the woman who it's now more in vogue to hate. None of this is even getting into how often women are framed as rivals in the media for no real reason. X So maybe keep that in mind next time you see people claiming to criticize the Duchess of Sussex in good faith.
