Coop Sleep Goods Original Adjustable Pillow review 2025: Customizable comfort for all sleeping styles

Coop Sleep Goods is a brand known for their adjustable pillows and high-quality bedding at an affordable price. The Original Adjustable is their best seller, which is now also available in several other avatars like the Cool+ cooling adjustable pillow and their recently launched Adjustable Latex pillow too. We had previously rated the Coop Original as our top adjustable option in our guide to the best pillows of the year. However, we wanted to retest the Original Adjustable to see if it is still worthy of a spot in our guide. Here you'll find the full review on the Coop Original Adjustable analysing it based on key parameters like comfort, support and temperature regulation. However, if you're in a hurry, here are the major highlights of what we found during our four-week testing period: Type: Memory foam and microfiberBest for: All sleepersSizes: Queen, kingTrial: 100 nightsWarranty: 5 yearsPrice: From $85 MSRP at Coop Sleep Goods The Coop Original Adjustable is a pillow designed to suit all sleeping styles. Crafted from CertiPUR-US certified memory foam and microfiber blend, this offers a plush feathery softness perfect for all, especially side sleepers, who like a cushioning and contouring feel to their pillow. The fully adjustable fill allows you to customize the loft and support in relation to your sleeping position and comfort requirements. Our lead tester, a combination sleeper (side and back) found it to be comfortable in all three positions and felt it strikes the right balance of pillowy softness and sturdy support. While we never slept hot or woke up due to nightsweats during the testing period, we recommend very hot sleepers to opt for a more dedicated cooling pillow, as the breathable Lulltra fabric cover might not stand on its own to achieve the same. The Original Adjustable is also Coop's cheapest model with a queen starting at $85 and king priced at $99. The Original Adjustable from Coop is one of most the popular adjustable pillows in the market today, at an affordable mid-range price. The Original Adjustable comes in three shapes: the classic (the pillow that we're testing here), crescent and cut out. The classic is the cheapest of the three starting at $85 for a queen. However, you can find the Coop Original Adjustable up to 20% off during major sale events like Presidents' Day, Memorial Day and Black Friday which drops the the price of a queen to $68. Coop is known for their industry-best benefits for bedding, which includes a 100-night trial (where you can return pillow for free within 100 days if you're not satisfied), 5-year warranty and free shipping. Coop Original Adjustable Pillow: queen from $85 at Coop Sleep GoodsThe Coop Original Adjustable is available in three shapes and two sizes. A classic queen is $85 while a king will cost you $99. This also includes a 100-night sleep trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping. It's also available to buy on Amazon, which could bring prices down further for Prime Day in July. The Coop Original Adjustable comes with an extra bag of half pound foam and fiber fill— meaning you can add or remove it, to create the perfect pillow for your sleeping style. The hypoallergenic non-toxic blend of Certi-PUR US certified memory foam and microfiber fill, comes in a breathable, wrinkle-resistant and soft cover made of Lulltra fabric (a combination of 60% polyester and bamboo-derived viscose rayon). The pillow has a two-way stretch inner polyester liner which provides support for your neck. While you can adjust the loft of the pillow to suit your sleeping position, the firmness stays the same (between plush medium-soft and medium-firm), so you don't feel like your neck or head is sinking too much into it. Both the cover and the inner pillow (not the fill) are machine washable. Coop also recommends popping your Original Adjustable in the dryer for 10 minutes if you ever feel it's going flat. We slept on the Coop Original Adjustable queen size for four weeks and conducted a series of objective and subjective tests, as per our pillow testing methodology, to assess its overall performance. The Coop Original Adjustable arrived rolled up and compressed in a cardboard box. As soon as it was out of the plastic, the pillow began to instantly expand. Coop suggests to wait a day for it to fully expand before sleeping to ensure maximum expansion. If you can't wait that long, Coop also suggest placing your pillow in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes to speed up the expansion process. We chose to wait for a day (and noticed some minimal off-gassing during this time) for it to be fully ready to be slept on. You also get an additional half pound bag of foam and fiber fill, separate pillow cover and an set up instructions included in the box. Score: 5 out of 5 Our tester, a combination sleeper (side and back), found the Coop Original Adjustable to be a plush pillow on her first use, prior to adding or removing any fill. It mimics feathery softness, which cradles and contours your head and neck, but is supportive enough to not let you sink-in too much into the pillow. After the first few nights, we added about a quarter of the fill in the bag, to know the difference it makes to the loft and firmness of the pillow. To our surprise, it remained at a comfy balance of softness and medium-firmness, perfect for both side and back sleeping. Stomach sleepers, who require a lower loft, will be better off by not adding any additional fill. While comfortable, the Coop Original pillow does require regular fluffing to maintain its shape and support. This, however, became a part of our tester's nighttime routine — fluff up the Original Adjustable, right before hitting the bed, for a plush night's sleep. As an objective test of comfort and support, we placed a 10lb weight (roughly equivalent to an adult head) on the center of the pillow. We waited for five minutes and once removed, the pillow took about 10 seconds to fully return to its original shape. The fill still seem compressed where the weight was placed, while the cover sprang back up. This aligns with our subjective experience of the Original Adjustable, it's comfortable but requires regular fluffing up in order to retain its shape. Score: 4.5 out of 5 The Coop Original Adjustable kept us sleeping comfortably cool throughout the four-week testing period. That's largely down to the Lulltra fabric, which is breathable due to the blend of polyester and bamboo-derived viscose rayon. However, it is worth noting that this testing period didn't coincide with any adverse weather conditions. Plus, our lead tester isn't a particularly hot sleeper. If waking up hot is a common sleep problem for you, you'll be safer opting for a pillow with active cooling properties instead, such as the Coop Sleep Goods Cool+ pillow. The Cool+ made from cooling-infused foam and fiber blend, heat-wicking liners and cool-to-touch cover is your top pick. Score: 4 out of 5 While we recommend replacing your pillow every one to two years, it's also important to gauge the durability of your pillow. The Coop Original Adjustable comes with a warranty of 5 years, so it's made to last longer than your average pillows available in the market. The four-week testing period is insufficient to fully asses the build quality of a pillow, however, considering it's made from high-quality materials, the Coop Original Adjustable is made to last. Everything from the cover to the fill feels like a plush feather and down pillow and after a month of testing, it seems to be holding up quite well. However, since fluffing is a regular requirement, we suspect the pillow to go flat over time. Coop recommends popping it in the dryer for 10 minutes to refresh and return it to the original shape. Score: 3.5 out of 5 Maintaining the Coop Original adjustable is fairly easy since both the cover and inner pillow (not the fill) are machine-washable and dryer safe. Regularly washing your pillow is important in order to keep allergens such as dust mites and pollen at bay. When in doubt, always refer to the care tag and our how to wash memory foam pillow guide. Score: 4 out of 5 During our four-week testing period, our lead tester who is a combination sleeper (back and side) felt that the Coop Original Adjustable was comfortable and supportive for all sleeping positions. It's a medium-soft to medium firm pillow, making it a great pick for anyone who loves a plush pillow offering cloud-like comfort and support. We think it supported our head, neck and shoulders quite well in every position, translating to restorative and uninterrupted sleep every night, during the testing period. While memory foam pillows are generally infamous for trapping heat, we felt the Coop Original Adjustable regulates temperatures well. Even as the weather was transitioning to warmer nights, we never woke up due to overheating or nightsweats. However, we recommend upgrading to an actively cooling pillow like their Cool+ model, if you're a particularly hot sleeper. If you're unsure of your comfort preferences and want the ability to adjust your pillow to suit your sleep style, we think the Coop Original Adjustable is worth its mid-range price. ✅ You're a combination sleeper: Thanks to the fully adjustable design, The Original Adjustable can be customized to suit any sleeping position. ✅ You prefer a plush pillow: If you're side or back sleeper who prefer a softer feel to their pillow without too much sink-in, the Original Adjustable is a great choice. ✅ You want to try before you buy: Coop Sleep Goods offers industry leading benefits for bedding which includes a 100-night trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping. ❌ You're a hot sleeper: While the Coop Original didn't trap heat during the four week testing period, this might not be enough for chronic hot sleepers. If that's you, it's a good idea to invest in the Cool+ pillow instead. ❌ You need a firmer pillow: If you prefer a firmer pillow or one that relieves neck pain or a tensed shoulder, the Coop Original will not suffice. The Tempur-Neck pillow, with its ergonomic curved design and pressure relieving foam, would be a better fit. ❌ You want a low-maintenance pillow: The biggest disadvantage of the Coop pillow, is that it requires regular fluffing for it to maintain its shape and support. It's plush foam and fiber fill compresses easily and is expected to flatter over time. 1. Coop Sleep Goods Cool+ Pillow: from $145 at Coop Sleep GoodsHot sleeper? Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud vs Coop Original Adjustable: Which pillow for stomach sleeping should you buy?

Type: Tempur foamPrice: from $89 at Tempur-PedicBest for: Stomach and back sleepersSizes: Queen and KingTrial: N/AWarranty: 5 yearsShipping: Free Type: Memory foam and microfiber blendPrice: from $85 at Coop Sleep GoodsBest for: All sleepersSizes: Queen and KingTrial: 100 nightsWarranty: 5 yearsShipping: Free Experts often say that stomach sleeping is the unhealthiest sleep position because of how it strains your body, for periods of up to eight hours or longer. But what if you're a natural stomach sleeper? The best mattresses for stomach sleepers are designed to maintain a healthy spinal alignment, minimizing the risk of getting back pain and aches due to a compromised sleeping position. However, it is crucial to pair it up with a mid or low loft pillow, as sleeping with your head at the wrong angle can quickly strain your neck muscles, leading to pain and, potentially, serious injury. In your search for a decent pillow that supports your stomach sleeping position, you might be tossing up between the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud and Coop Original Adjustable — two plush fan favorites currently holding a spot each in our guide to the best pillows of the year. Here, we'll compare them against key performance indicators like price, comfort and support. Let's get started... Both the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud and Coop Original are the most affordable pillows from their respective brands, and there isn't a great difference in price between the two. The Tempur-Cloud is available in two sizes: queen and king. The queen is priced at $89 while a king will cost you $109. The brand often runs a bundle sale on all pillows that drops the price of two queen Tempur-Cloud pillows from $178 to $119. Besides this standard deal, we've previously seen the Tempur-Cloud with up to 64% off and on a 'buy one get one free' sale during events like Memorial Day and Black Friday, which drops the price of a queen to $56.96. It's also worth looking up the Tempur-Cloud on Amazon, where you'll regularly find it at a lower price than at the Tempur store. However, unlike other pillows in the market, the Tempur-Cloud does not include a sleep trial, however you get a 5-year warranty and free shipping. The Coop Original Adjustable comes in three shape variants and two sizes: queen and king. The classic Original Adjustable is the cheapest of the lot starting from $85 for a queen while a king is priced at $99. The Coop Original is usually up to 20% off during major sale events which reduces the price of a queen to $68. And unlike the Tempur-Cloud, the Original Adjustable from Coop comes with a 100-night sleep trial as well as a 5-year warranty and free shipping. Considering both price and deals, the Coop Original seems to be the clear winner here, but let's continue to look at the other differences in detail. While both include memory foam, the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud and Coop Adjustable are remarkably different in terms of design and build. The Tempur-Cloud consists of a single slab of extra soft Tempur foam encased in a hypoallergenic quilted polyester cover. The 5-inch tall pillow features gusseted sides that ensure it has an even height across the surface. You can find the Tempur-Cloud in two sizes (queen and king), with an option for hot sleepers to choose a cooling upgrade (at an additional cost of $20). The Coop Original Adjustable has a fully customizable memory foam and microfiber fill. It's a medium-soft to medium-firm pillow that comes with a half-pound bag of additional fill, so you can fluff it up or remove some to suit your sleeping position and preferences. It comes in a Lulltra fabric (a blend of polyester and bamboo-derived viscose) cover, which is stretchy, soft, breathable and machine-washable. One concern stomach sleepers might face with the Coop Original is the lack of a precise guide to the amount of fill to be added or removed for a particular sleeping style. This can result in multiple trial and error attempts, until you find what works for you. In terms of design, we think that out of the box, the Tempur-Cloud is a more suitable stomach sleeping pillow than the Coop Original. Our stomach sleeping tester was impressed by how the Tempur-Cloud kept her neck aligned with the spine, delivering both support and pressure relief. The mid to low loft Tempur-Cloud was effective in keeping her head from tilting upwards, which is often the issue when using pillows that are too tall. The temperature regulation, on the other hand, is a little lacking. She recommends hot sleepers to go for the cooling upgrade, as the Tempur foam has a tendency to trap heat. Considering all the factors, it was awarded an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars in our Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud pillow review. In our review we concluded that this is an ideal pillow for all sleeping positions. Our combination sleeping tester (back and side), found it to be a plush and contouring headrest in every position. The key to making it work for you is to try and adjust the fill, which can be tricky to get right immediately. However, one disadvantage of the Coop Original is that it requires constant fluffing up to maintain its support and shape. It tends to flatten easily and hence might lack enough support for stomach sleeping all night. Like the Tempur-Cloud, the Coop also has a tendency to retain heat. Our tester points out in the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow review that hot sleepers are better off choosing the cooling alternative offered by the brand: the Cool+ Adjustable Pillow. Considering overall performance, we think the Tempur-Cloud does better when it comes to delivering the right balance of comfort and support for stomach sleeping. ✅ You're a stomach sleeper: The mid-loft Tempur-Cloud minimizes any risk to your neck while stomach sleeping and relieves any built-up tension. ✅ You struggle with neck pain: If you're a back sleeper who experiences neck pain, the mid-loft Tempur-Cloud offers the right comfort and support to soothe any aches or discomfort. ✅ You need a portable pillow: Our tester was impressed by how you can pack up and compress your Tempur-Cloud, due to its travel-friendly design. ✅ You're a combination sleeper: The Coop Original is ideal for anyone who is not a dedicated stomach sleeper and shifts their position during the night. ✅ You want a pillow with a sleep trial: Coop is a bedding brand that sets the bar high for pillow benefits with a 100-night sleep trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping. ✅ You need customizable firmness: Thanks to the adjustable fill, you can change the firmness and feel of your Coop pillow to suit your sleeping preferences.
