Saatva Latex Pillow vs Sleep Number Naturalfit Ultimate: Key differences compared

Type: Latex Price: from $165 at SaatvaBest for: All positions; hot sleepersSizes: Queen and KingTrial: 45 nightsWarranty: 1-yearShipping: Free Type: Latex & downPrice: from $189.99 at Sleep NumberBest for: All positions; hot sleepersSizes: Standard and KingTrial: 100 nightsWarranty: 1-yearShipping: Free Latex pillows are renowned for their responsive sleep feel, cooling comfort and naturally hypoallergenic properties, setting them apart from the others in the market. The Saatva Latex and Sleep Number Naturalfit Ultimate are among two of our favorite latex blend pillows, but which should you buy? Several of the top picks in our guide to the best pillows of the year include latex in their fill, with the Saatva Latex and Sleep Number Naturalfit Ultimate among two of the strongest performers. On the surface, both pillows appear evenly matched in terms of materials and price (both are premium pillows and are priced accordingly.) However, we'll delve into their key differences in this Saatva Latex Pillow vs Sleep Number Naturalfit Ultimate comparison piece. Ready to find out which is right for your sleep needs? Let's get started... Due to the premium materials included and expensive production costs, both the Saatva Latex and Sleep Number NaturalFit Ultimate are pricey pillows. The Saatva Latex is available to buy in two sizes and two loft variants. The queen size is priced at $165 while a king pillow will cost $195. Unlike our best mattress of 2025, the Saatva Classic, we've rarely seen the Saatva Latex pillow on a sale. The best deal we've spotted so far this year is a $60 off discount on a double pack of pillows during Memorial Day. The lack of frequent deals aside, the Saatva Latex pillow comes with a 45-night sleep trial, one-year warranty and free shipping. While this cannot be compared to the industry-best bedding benefits offered by Coop Sleep Goods, it's still make it worth the investment. The Sleep Number NaturalFit Ultimate also falls in a similar price category as the Saatva, starting from $189.99 for a standard size. The king pillow is priced at $219.99. It includes a better combination of bedding benefits than Saatva at the same price range such as a 100-night sleep trial, one-year warranty and free shipping. The Sleep Number NaturalFit Ultimate is slightly more expensive, starting from $189.99 for a standard size while the king pillow is priced at $219.99. The NaturalFit Ultimate can often be found on a 'buy one get one 50% off' sale during major events like Memorial Day, Presidents' Day and Black Friday. This is the best deal we've spotted on Sleep Number pillows so far. While both the Saatva and NaturalFit are crafted from latex, the fill composition is what distinguishes one from the other. The Saatva has a springy soft feel thanks to the shredded latex core surrounded by down-alternative microdenier fibers. It comes encased in an organic cotton cover with gusseted sides which helps to maintain the shape. The Saatva Latex is available in two loft options: standard (4 -5 " tall), recommended for back and stomach sleepers and high (6-7" tall), meant for side sleepers. Once you choose your desired option during pillow purchase, it does not require any further adjustments and can be slept on straight out of the package. When it comes to maintenance, the brand recommends machine washing all parts of the Saatva Latex except for the latex core, which can only be spot cleaned. Saatva suggests washing your pillow twice a year and replacing them once in three years. The Sleep Number NaturalFit Ultimate, on the other hand, consists of three removable latex and down fiber inserts. This unique combination of natural breathable and plush materials results in a soft yet supportive pillow. The Ultimate also features a curved shape which is best suited for side and back sleepers as it effectively support the head, neck and shoulders in these positions. It also comes in an organic cotton cover but with a single strip of grey athletic jersey material on the side with small holes for enhanced breathability. Except for this outer cover which is both removable and machine washable, the NaturalFit Ultimate is a 'spot-clean' only pillow. The Saatva Latex and Sleep Number NaturalFit may both be latex-blend pillows, but our lead testers report that each has a slightly different feel to it. Our tester was very impressed by the performance of the former during the Saatva Latex pillow review period in terms of comfort, support and temperature regulation, earning a full score of 5 out of 5. It suited her combination sleeping style (side and stomach), maintaining the support for her head, neck and shoulders, even while she was switching positions during the night. The Saatva Latex delivers a luxurious experience with its firm squidgy feel, which in our reviewer's words was like "sleeping on a cloud". The Sleep Number Ultimate, on the other hand, fell short by just 0.5 out of 5 for comfort and support. This is because of its tendency to flatten easily when sleeping, which can lead to lack of enough support for an uninterrupted night's sleep. In the Sleep Number NaturalFit Ultimate review, our tester also points out that it has a "plush and soft feel" suitable for all sleeping positions (side, back and stomach) with a high score (5 out of 5) for temperature regulation. The Saatva Latex, appears to have an upperhand in performance, thanks to its simple fuss-free design which does not require regular fluffing up. ✅ You're a hot sleeper: Our reviewer was impressed by the temperature regulating properties of the Saatva Latex giving it a full score of 5 out of 5. ✅ You need a firm to medium-firm pillow: The shredded latex core surrounded by microdenier fiber fill results in a firm supportive pillow. ✅ You prefer a ready-made pillow: While you can choose your desired pillow loft (standard or high) at the time of purchase, the Saatva Latex is not an adjustable pillow So you can enjoy the fuss-free sleep experience straight out of the box, without having to add or remove fill. ✅ You're prefer down in your pillow: If you're fan of the feel of natural down in your pillows, the NaturalFit is the right for you since it features the dream combination of both natural latex and down. ✅ You like a plush yet supportive pillow: Thanks to the 50% down and 50% latex foam fill, the Sleep Number NaturalFit is more on the softer side of the firmness scale than the Saatva. ✅ You need a pillow with longer trial: Worried about the short window period for returns? The NaturalFit comes with a 100-night sleep trial (compared to Saatva's 45-night trial), so you can shop with the confidence that you can change it if it isn't comfortable longer term.

I test bedding for a living — the one pillow I recommend for all sleep styles is on sale for Memorial Day

Being a bedding writer, I've had the chance to research and test a wide variety of pillows and I think I've found the one that suits just about any kind of sleeper — the Coop Original Adjustable now 20% off at Coop Sleep Goods, dropping the MSRP of a queen from $85 to $68. The Coop Original Adjustable pillow earned a worthy spot in our guide to the best pillows we've tried this year. It's an excellent all-rounder that's both high quality and adjustable, meaning no matter your body type or sleeping position, it's likely to suit your sleep and support your body. And with the Memorial Day mattress and bedding sales in full swing, you can now get up to $20 off, which is one of the best discounts we've seen on the Original Adjustable pillow so far. I've been sleeping on it for over two weeks, here's why I think it's worth the investment. Coop Sleep Goods Original Adjustable: queen was $85 now $68 at Coop Sleep GoodsThe Original Adjustable is Coop's solution to the endless trial and error of finding the right pillow for your sleeping style. During our Coop Original Adjustable Pillow, our lead reviewer was impressed with its customizable comfort and support for every sleeping position. All you have to do is simply add or remove the unique blend of contouring memory foam and soft microfiber fill, which is encased in a breathable Lulltra fabric cover (a mix of polyester and bamboo-derived rayon). The current 20% off deal is the largest saving we have spotted on the Original Adjustable, dropping the MSRP of a queen pillow form $85 to $68 while a king size will cost you $79.20 (was $99). This also includes the brand's industry-best bedding benefits: 100-night trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping. Our review: ★★★★User score: ★★★★½ (4.7 rating based on 17K+ reviews) I recently went hands-on with the Original again to re-asses its performance and I loved the soft, plush yet supportive feel of it. The pillow keeps your head, neck and shoulders in perfect alignment with the rest of your body, so I never woke up with aches or pains. One concern I noted was how the memory foam fill was prone to overheating, and thus not a great option for hot sleepers. If you experience hot flashes or night sweats, consider investing in the cooling alternative below. Coop Cool+ Adjustable pillow: queen was $145 now $116 at CoopThe Coop Cool is made from cooling-gel infused foam and fiber blend, as well as a cool-to-touch cover designed to give you the 'cool side of the pillow' feel all night. You can also get 20% off this model in the Memorial Day sales, which drops the price of a queen from $145 to $116 for a queen. You'll get the same benefits as the Original Adjustable.

I tried an adjustable pillow and have never slept better — here's what happened

Finding the right pillow for your sleeping style and body type can take a lot of trial and error (which can also translate to a lot of unnecessary pillow purchases!). But what if I told you there is one that suits all? Fill: Memory foam and microfiberBest for: All sleepersFirmness: Adjustable Warranty: 5 year limitedMSRP: from $85 at Coop We're in the process of retesting one of this year's best pillows for all sleepers, the Coop Original Adjustable in the 'classic' shape, which means I've been sleeping on it for a week now. Like a traditional pillow, it's aim is to keep your neck and shoulders in alignment with your spine, but you can also customize it to your personal requirements, thanks to it's adjustable fill of cross-cut memory foam pieces and microfiber. So far, I'm impressed by the cushioning comfort it delivers. With the Memorial Day mattress sales seeing big discounts across all things sleep, including pillows, bedding and tech, not to mention some of this year's best mattresses, so it's a great time to refresh your bedroom set up. If you're considering investing in the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow, read on for my experience. Coop Sleep Goods is a popular bedding brand specializing in adjustable pillows and mattress protectors that are high quality with a reasonable price tag. The Original Adjustable pillow comes in three different shapes, the 'classic,' (that we're retesting here) the 'crescent' and the 'cut out.' The classic shape is the brand's most affordable adult pillow, and is available on both their official website and retailers like Amazon. The MSRP has, however, significantly increased from $59.99 for a queen (when we first reviewed it a few years ago) to $85, while a king is currently priced at $99. Coop does offer discounts throughout the year during major holidays, and right now there's 20% off their pillows in anticipation of the Memorial Day weekend. This drops the the price of a queen down to $68, which is a reasonable discount, but it's important to note that it's still more expensive than it's previous MSRP (which we had seen discounted in previous sales, too). Price hikes aside, Coop does offer excellent benefits for bedding, including a 100-night sleep trial (where you can return your pillow for free within 100 days if you're unsatisfied with your purchase), a 5-year limited warranty and free shipping. Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (classic): was from $85 now from $68 at Coop Sleep GoodsThe Coop Original Adjustable Pillow in the classic shape is available to buy in two sizes: queen and king. The MSRP of a queen is $85 while a king is priced at $99. But there's 20% off inf the current Memorial Day sale, bringing a queen down to $68 and a king to $79.20. Benefits include a 100-night sleep trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping. The Coop Original Adjustable pillow arrived in a cardboard box, rolled and vacuum sealed in plastic, like the best mattresses in a box. The pillow quickly unfurled once out of the plastic, but it did need to be fluffed up to fully expand. The brand suggests either allowing a day for the pillow to fully expand or putting it in dryer for 10 minutes to fluff it up. I opted to wait a day, (and did notice some off-gassing during this time but it was not particularly strong), after which it was all ready to be slept on. The pillow also arrives with an additional bag of fill so you can adjust it, if required, to suit your sleeping preferences. We reviewed the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow last year, but retesting it was my first time trying out an adjustable pillow, and I was a little skeptical about whether it would be right for me. To my surprise, the Coop Original Adjustable pillow felt perfectly plush, yet supportive. So much so that I decided not to adjust the fill at all. The feather-like softness and sink-in cushioning of the microfiber and memory foam fill cradled my head and neck well, and I drifted off into a relaxing sleep easily on the first night. While it's designed for all sleeping positions, I found it almost perfect for me the way it arrived without having to adjust the fill. I'm a combination sleeper but spend most of the night on my side, and the plush feel let me sink into the pillow, but still kept me supported. However, as an adjustable pillow, you can remove or add fill, there's the option to make it firmer, softer and increase or decrease the loft, which means people with different sleeping styles to me can (as the name suggests!) adjust it to suit them. I've been sleeping on the Coop Original Adjustable in the classic shape for a week now and I think it's the comfiest pillow I've ever tried. It also effectively aligns my head, neck and shoulders with the rest of my body, meaning no joint or muscle is under particular strain during the night. On the fourth night, I did adjust the fill by adding more from the bag (about a quarter of the additional fill provided) to see if it made any difference. Despite having a good sleep experience without adjusting it, adding the fill created an even more supportive pillow. It still felt cushioning, but firmer at the same time — I'd say my adjustments changed this pillow from soft to medium-soft. Throughout the week, I was more than comfortable sleeping both on my back and side with this pillow. I also never felt hot or found the pillow stuffy, thanks to the breathable cover made from Lulltra fabric (a blend of 60% polyester and 40% rayon) and the airflow that the fill allows. One issue I did have is that the Coop Original Adjustable requires regular fluffing to maintain its shape and support. While I didn't find this severely impacted my sleep during the first week, it's possible my opinion on this may change over time. Stay tuned for the full review of this pillow to find out. After sleeping on the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow for a week, I think it's an ideal choice for all sleepers, but especially side and back sleepers. Using it as it arrived and adding a quarter of the additional fill provided a softness and subtle support that suited my sleeping style. While it did not trap heat at any point, at this stage I would say it's better to opt for a dedicated cooling pillow like the Coop Cool+ if you're a hot sleeper or experience night sweats or hot flashes. Read out full Coop Edencool Adjustable Pillow review to find out more. I need more time to assess the Coop Original Adjustable pillow, and will be reviewing it in full, but based on my first-week testing experience and the vast online reviews (on the Coop site the pillow has 4.7/5 stars from more than 17,000 reviews), I think this pillow delivers on its promises and more.

Hot sleepers will love Coop's new cooling bedding collection — just in time for summer

Release date: 15 May 2025Products: Tencel sheet set, duvet cover and pillowcase setWarranty: 1 year for bedding and 5 years for pillowsTrial: 100 nights Summer is a time dreaded by hot sleepers and it's soon approaching. The good news is that Coop Sleep Goods has launched its specialist cooling Tencel bedding collection as well as adding some new additions to its Cool+ bedding range. Coop is a reputed sleep brand featured in our best pillow of the year guide, thanks to its Original Adjustable Pillow. Alongside excellent pillows, Coop also offer specialist sheets, bedding, mattress toppers and mattress protectors to deliver customizable support and comfort for all sleepers. And the new bedding range is a dream come true for hot sleepers, letting them create a naturally cooling and breathable bedroom set up with Tencel sheet sets, duvet covers, pillowcases and more. An additional Cool+ mattress topper and body pillow are now available too, for the ultimate summer set up. With the upcoming Memorial Day mattress sales, we expect to see some discounts soon, too, making it a great time to invest in your sleep. Here's everything you need to know about Coop's latest launch. With the right bedding atop your bed, you can improve the comfort of even the best mattress of the year, making it more suited to your sleep needs. One way to do this, is to add cooling products for better temperature regulation, especially if you experience night sweats, hot flashes or sleep naturally hot at night. Unlike the current cooling bedsheets available on Coop Sleep Goods, for instance, the Comphy CoolSpa Sheet Set made from a synthetic blend of nylon and spandex, the new collection features naturally breathable and lightweight Tencel Lyocell fabric. This is a plant-derived (from eucalyptus) material, which is soft, ultra-breathable and moisture wicking, making it a perfect choice for hot sleepers. When used in sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers as a single pick sateen weave 300 thread count, it creates not only a luxurious silky smooth touch but a clean, cool and comfortable environment. The new Coop Tencel collection includes: Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. All products are OEKO-TEX certified to be free from harmful substances and chemicals and are available in three chic calming colors: white, cream and grey. The brand has also taken efforts to remain environmentally conscious by ensuring all raw materials come from well-managed, certified natural forests and sustainably harvested trees. The Coop Tencel collection includes sheet sets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Befitting cooling bedding, the new Tencel range comes at a more expensive price compared to its SoftSpa, Percale and CoolSpa sheet sets. Every sheet set includes a top sheet, a fitted sheet and two pillowcases. The MSRP of a twin set is currently $159 while a queen is priced at $199. The duvet cover, on the other hand, is available in two size variants: full/queen at $159 and king/Cal king at $179. Coop Tencel pillowcases are available as a pair. The MSRP of a queen set is $39 while a pack of king pillowcases will cost you $45. Coop also offers a 100-night trial and one-year limited warranty for all bedding including sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Along with the new range, Coop has also expanded their existing Cool+ collection of pillows and sheets by adding a mattress topper, an adjustable body pillow and a fun-size of the popular Cool+ Adjustable Pillow we reviewed. Like some of our best mattress toppers of the year, the new Cool+ topper is designed to ease your pressure points and provide comfy support with its cool-to-touch top surface. It is available in sizes starting from twin to Cal king. However, if you're an extremely hot sleeper, we recommend that you pair up the Cool+ mattress topper with one of this year's best cooling mattresses which incorporate advanced technology to beat the heat this summer. The Cool+ Adjustable body pillow, on the other hand, is a cooling counterpart of the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow we reviewed, which can a be boon for side sleepers, prone to overheat. Similar to how our best mattresses for side sleepers work, the Coop Cool+ body pillow crafted from cooling gel-infused plus-shaped memory foam, cradles to your form, giving you ample support by maintaining your spinal alignment, all the while providing cooling relief to get a refreshing sleep. The major advantage is that you can add or remove the filling to suit your sleeping preferences and make it as cushioning or firm as you like. The brand has also introduced a toddler-version of the Cool+ Adjustable Pillow (formerly called the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable) so that your little ones can now sleep cool and comfortable all night. The expanded Cool+ range includes a mattress protector, adjustable body pillow and Cool+ Adjustable Pillow for toddlers. Similar to the Tencel sheet range, the Cool+ mattress topper is available in six sizes from twin to Cal king. The price of a twin topper is $249 while a queen is $349. Both the Cool+ Body Pillow and the toddler Cool+ Adjustable Pillow are each available in a single standard size, priced at $169 and $49 respectively. The pillows come with a 100-night sleep trial and 5-year warranty. The mattress protector, on the hand, includes the same trial period but with a limited one-year warranty.

The best cooling pillows of 2025, tried and tested

The best cooling pillows we tested Best cooling pillow: Coop Sleep Goods Eden Cool+ Crescent Pillow Best budget cooling pillow: Sijo FluffBase Eucalyptus Pillow There's a science to getting a good night's sleep. Between nailing the perfect temperature, having cozy pajamas and bedding, and creating overall serene vibes, the most important ingredient is often the perfect pillow. And sometimes, a warm pillow can completely derail a good snooze session. It turns out, there's no need to toss and turn, wondering how to get to the cool side of the pillow. Whether you're dealing with night sweats, experiencing hot flashes or struggling to find your pillow's sweet spot, cooling pillows can make all the difference in your sleep quality. That's why I tested and reviewed a range of cooling pillows to find the ones worth the price. Here's what I discovered. Related article I committed to 30 days of better sleep. Here's everything that worked and what I learnedCoop Sleep Goods Eden Cool+ Crescent Pillow By combining cooling gel-infused memory foam and microfibers, the Coop Sleep Goods pillow offers great support for your neck and head while staying cool to the touch all night long. I loved that the pillow was adjustable, making it a great pick for back, stomach and side sleepers. Sijo FluffBase Eucalyptus Pillow Soft without feeling too squishy, the Sijo FluffBase is made with a cozy down alternative that remained cool and fresh throughout the night. At only $60, I thought this was a solid, allergy-safe pick for a cooling pillow. I'll be honest — I live in a tiny studio apartment that tends to get hot. Like, really hot, to the point where I often have to crank up my air conditioning in the throes of winter. Thanks to my unpredictable radiator and small space, staying cool at night is hopelessly futile. Even though I'm a naturally cold sleeper, I've been looking for a cooling pillow that can keep my head cool in my stuffy apartment, especially as summer approaches. Although I tested a range of pillows, Coop's dreamy, adjustable pillow completely changed the game for me. It was the only pillow that came with filling (making it great for all kinds of sleepers) to build a dreamy, tailored sleep setup — and it stayed cool to the touch night after night. Many a CNN Underscored writer has tested and raved about iterations of the Coop pillow, and all have come to the same conclusion: It's like a built-in climate control system for any kind of sleep environment. Related article I'm a hot sleeper, and this adjustable cooling pillow feels like an AC just for my head The cooling outer layer did feel soft and crisp to the touch, without ribs or patterns, unlike others in my testing pool. The pillow stayed cool throughout the night, even in my warm studio apartment. How so? With gel-infused memory foam and breathable microfibers, the 'stuffing' dissipates heat, meaning the hottest of sleepers can cool off using this pillow. I loved that this pillow is adjustable — all I had to do was unzip, add or remove fill, and fine-tune it to my perfect level of support. I appreciated the customization of it all, especially as a petite back sleeper who struggles to find cervical pillows that fit my frame. The Coop pillow is also CertiPUR-US and Greenguard Gold certified, so I can sleep easily knowing I'm resting on a clean, safe and skin-friendly product. I'm pretty picky when it comes to pillows, especially the materials they're made from. I thought Sijo's FluffBase was a solid pick for the price, considering pillows can get pretty pricey. It's soft without being overly squishy, and the recycled polyester fiber fill stayed evenly distributed throughout the night, without any lumps or flat spots by morning. The pillow is impressively breathable too, crafted with a 100% Tencel Lyocell fabric shell with the same fiber inside. The silky-soft cover did feel cool to the touch, and I appreciated that it was hypoallergenic for those with the sniffles, like myself. I went with the medium support option, and it's been consistently comfortable whether I'm sleeping on my back or side. I noticed the fill didn't shift or compress much, so the pillow kept its 'fluffy' shape while still feeling light and cushy. It's also engineered to gently contour to the head and neck, which felt especially supportive around my shoulders and upper back. While I wouldn't call it life-changing, it's thoughtfully made, it's low-maintenance and it delivers on comfort and cooling abilities. Related article Hot sleeper? Here's how to stay cool while sleeping with these 19 products For anyone concerned about allergens, this pillow is a smart choice. It's certified hypoallergenic and made with a barrier against dust mites, pet dander and pollen. It's also Oeko-Tex certified, meaning it's been rigorously tested for harmful substances and is free from toxic chemicals and dyes. That extra peace of mind, combined with hotel-quality comfort, makes the FluffBase a worthwhile option for a healthier, cooler night's sleep. After narrowing down my list to the most popular pillows and brands, I tested the pillows by sleeping on each one for at least two nights. I paid close attention to how well each pillow regulated temperature, how breathable and cool the materials felt and whether I woke up feeling overheated or sweaty. I also noted overall comfort, ease of cleaning, construction quality and adjustability options. Here's how I evaluated each cooling pillow, with stuffy sleepers in mind. Comfort Comfort level: I slept on each pillow for at least two nights and noted how comfortable each was when I got into bed at night and when I woke up in the morning. Adjustments: I noted if it was possible to easily adjust the filling of each pillow. Cooling ability Outer layer: Upon initial touch, I took note of how cool the outer layer of the pillow felt. Time of cooling: I made sure to evaluate if each pillow stayed cool throughout the night, not just within the first few minutes of using them. Durability Shape retention: It's no secret that pillows can become lumpy or flat, so I took note of each pillow's shape after sleeping on it for several nights. Appearance: I also looked at the overall appearance of the pillow after sleeping on each one and noted if anything tore or broke in the process. Cooling pillows are designed to regulate heat and wick away moisture so you can stay cool and wake up feeling like the best version of yourself. And who doesn't love that? To pick the perfect cooling pillow, start by identifying your sleep style — side, back or stomach — and choose a firmness option that supports your neck and spine. Look for breathable materials like gel-infused foam, shredded memory foam or lightweight down alternatives. If you'd like to cover your cooling pillow, opt for moisture-wicking, cool-to-the-touch covers made from Tencel or bamboo. You can go the extra mile and find pillows with adjustable fill, ventilation channels and hypoallergenic certifications for the ultimate night's sleep. Related article The 42 best cooling products to fend off the summer heatPluto Pillow Pluto's dreamy pillow is fully customizable online, made with a personalized CertiPUR-US certified foam core based on your sleep preferences. It's tough to beat a customizable pillow like Pluto's. Unlike the Coop pillow that comes with filling, it's easy to customize the Pluto pillow online, all from the comfort of your home. The 'core,' or filling, is engineered for optimal bounce and support that adapts to your body temperature without getting too firm or soft. After sleeping on the plush Pluto pillow, I noticed it bounced back quickly and dispersed heat efficiently, making it a smart choice for comfort on warmer nights. To get into the nitty-gritty of the materials, this pillow is Oeko-Tex certified, meaning it's filled with individually blown-down alternative microfibers. To break it down further, this means the fibers are hypoallergenic, all for a soft and breathable feel without clumping or flattening. If you choose to do so, you can also pick between two outer fabric options: a smooth, 350-thread-count cotton for breathability or a lightly quilted, cool-to-the-touch cover for a cozier, temperature-regulating finish. Casper Hybrid Pillow If you're looking for a pillow with that marshmallowy feel, the Casper Hybrid Pillow is the product for you. With a fiber core surrounded by layered foam, it delivers that squishy, sink-in comfort. Although not advertised as a cooling pillow, it did stay cold but ultimately warmed up over time. Despite this important drawback, I did enjoy the plush support of the Casper pillow. I found the shape especially ideal for side sleeping, but it worked just as well when I shifted onto my back. The three-layer construction holds its form nicely through the night, while the plush knit cover adds extra coziness. It's also machine-washable, which makes keeping it fresh effortless. If you're after that 'just right' mix of softness and support, this pillow makes a strong case. Slumber Cloud UltraCool Pillow I'm not kidding when I say this is an out-of-this-world pillow. The Slumber Cloud UltraCool Pillow lives up to its name, thanks to its use of Outlast, a NASA-developed technology that actively regulates temperature to keep you cool all night. I was curious to see if the Slumber Cloud UltraCool Pillow could deliver on its cooling claims — and it did. Made with Outlast, a temperature-regulating fabric originally developed for NASA, this pillow stayed consistently cool without me needing to flip it over during the night. I didn't wake up sweaty or overheated, which is a major win. I went with the medium/firm option, which offered solid support for my back and side, but there's a softer version too if you're a stomach sleeper. The fabric felt durable and smooth, and, overall, I thought it was a great choice if you run hot at night. Threshold Firm Cool Touch Bed Pillow I gave this firm pillow from Threshold a try, and for a budget-friendly option, it was a decent pick that offered more than I expected. The cool-to-the-touch quilted cover stayed cool through the night, and the firm fill offered solid support whether I was on my back, side or stomach. This pillow from Target's Threshold brand is hypoallergenic, machine-washable and low-maintenance, making it an ideal pick if you're looking for a pillow that doesn't require extra care but still feels fresh night after night. And even though it didn't blow me away or come with fancy features like NASA-engineered technology or adjustable filling, it pretty much got the job done — all for a mere $15. The cover is made from a blend of 90% nylon and 10% spandex, which gives it that smooth, stretchy and noticeably cool-to-the-touch feel. For the price, it's a simple, supportive option that stayed decently cool throughout the night. How do cooling pillows stay cool? How do cooling pillows stay cool? Cooling pillows use materials like gel infusions, phase-change fabrics and breathable fills to promote airflow, keeping you from overheating at night. Some also feature moisture-wicking, cool-to-the-touch covers and ventilated designs that regulate body temperature. Will my cooling pillow work if I use a case? Will my cooling pillow work if I use a case? It depends. Most will work with a pillowcase, but the type of case you use matters. Avoid thick, heat-trapping fabric like flannel or low-quality cotton. To get the most out of your pillow, choose a lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking fabric like high-thread cotton or bamboo. What materials should I look out for in a cooling pillow? What materials should I look out for in a cooling pillow? Opt for cooling, gel-infused or shredded memory foam, breathable polyester fill or phase-change materials that regulate heat.
