I tried an adjustable pillow and have never slept better — here's what happened
Finding the right pillow for your sleeping style and body type can take a lot of trial and error (which can also translate to a lot of unnecessary pillow purchases!). But what if I told you there is one that suits all?
Fill: Memory foam and microfiberBest for: All sleepersFirmness: Adjustable Warranty: 5 year limitedMSRP: from $85 at Coop
We're in the process of retesting one of this year's best pillows for all sleepers, the Coop Original Adjustable in the 'classic' shape, which means I've been sleeping on it for a week now.
Like a traditional pillow, it's aim is to keep your neck and shoulders in alignment with your spine, but you can also customize it to your personal requirements, thanks to it's adjustable fill of cross-cut memory foam pieces and microfiber. So far, I'm impressed by the cushioning comfort it delivers.
With the Memorial Day mattress sales seeing big discounts across all things sleep, including pillows, bedding and tech, not to mention some of this year's best mattresses, so it's a great time to refresh your bedroom set up. If you're considering investing in the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow, read on for my experience.
Coop Sleep Goods is a popular bedding brand specializing in adjustable pillows and mattress protectors that are high quality with a reasonable price tag.
The Original Adjustable pillow comes in three different shapes, the 'classic,' (that we're retesting here) the 'crescent' and the 'cut out.' The classic shape is the brand's most affordable adult pillow, and is available on both their official website and retailers like Amazon.
The MSRP has, however, significantly increased from $59.99 for a queen (when we first reviewed it a few years ago) to $85, while a king is currently priced at $99.
Coop does offer discounts throughout the year during major holidays, and right now there's 20% off their pillows in anticipation of the Memorial Day weekend. This drops the the price of a queen down to $68, which is a reasonable discount, but it's important to note that it's still more expensive than it's previous MSRP (which we had seen discounted in previous sales, too).
Price hikes aside, Coop does offer excellent benefits for bedding, including a 100-night sleep trial (where you can return your pillow for free within 100 days if you're unsatisfied with your purchase), a 5-year limited warranty and free shipping.
Coop Original Adjustable Pillow (classic): was from $85 now from $68 at Coop Sleep GoodsThe Coop Original Adjustable Pillow in the classic shape is available to buy in two sizes: queen and king. The MSRP of a queen is $85 while a king is priced at $99. But there's 20% off inf the current Memorial Day sale, bringing a queen down to $68 and a king to $79.20. Benefits include a 100-night sleep trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping.
The Coop Original Adjustable pillow arrived in a cardboard box, rolled and vacuum sealed in plastic, like the best mattresses in a box. The pillow quickly unfurled once out of the plastic, but it did need to be fluffed up to fully expand.
The brand suggests either allowing a day for the pillow to fully expand or putting it in dryer for 10 minutes to fluff it up. I opted to wait a day, (and did notice some off-gassing during this time but it was not particularly strong), after which it was all ready to be slept on.
The pillow also arrives with an additional bag of fill so you can adjust it, if required, to suit your sleeping preferences.
We reviewed the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow last year, but retesting it was my first time trying out an adjustable pillow, and I was a little skeptical about whether it would be right for me. To my surprise, the Coop Original Adjustable pillow felt perfectly plush, yet supportive. So much so that I decided not to adjust the fill at all.
The feather-like softness and sink-in cushioning of the microfiber and memory foam fill cradled my head and neck well, and I drifted off into a relaxing sleep easily on the first night.
While it's designed for all sleeping positions, I found it almost perfect for me the way it arrived without having to adjust the fill. I'm a combination sleeper but spend most of the night on my side, and the plush feel let me sink into the pillow, but still kept me supported.
However, as an adjustable pillow, you can remove or add fill, there's the option to make it firmer, softer and increase or decrease the loft, which means people with different sleeping styles to me can (as the name suggests!) adjust it to suit them.
I've been sleeping on the Coop Original Adjustable in the classic shape for a week now and I think it's the comfiest pillow I've ever tried. It also effectively aligns my head, neck and shoulders with the rest of my body, meaning no joint or muscle is under particular strain during the night.
On the fourth night, I did adjust the fill by adding more from the bag (about a quarter of the additional fill provided) to see if it made any difference. Despite having a good sleep experience without adjusting it, adding the fill created an even more supportive pillow. It still felt cushioning, but firmer at the same time — I'd say my adjustments changed this pillow from soft to medium-soft.
Throughout the week, I was more than comfortable sleeping both on my back and side with this pillow. I also never felt hot or found the pillow stuffy, thanks to the breathable cover made from Lulltra fabric (a blend of 60% polyester and 40% rayon) and the airflow that the fill allows.
One issue I did have is that the Coop Original Adjustable requires regular fluffing to maintain its shape and support. While I didn't find this severely impacted my sleep during the first week, it's possible my opinion on this may change over time. Stay tuned for the full review of this pillow to find out.
After sleeping on the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow for a week, I think it's an ideal choice for all sleepers, but especially side and back sleepers. Using it as it arrived and adding a quarter of the additional fill provided a softness and subtle support that suited my sleeping style.
While it did not trap heat at any point, at this stage I would say it's better to opt for a dedicated cooling pillow like the Coop Cool+ if you're a hot sleeper or experience night sweats or hot flashes. Read out full Coop Edencool Adjustable Pillow review to find out more.
I need more time to assess the Coop Original Adjustable pillow, and will be reviewing it in full, but based on my first-week testing experience and the vast online reviews (on the Coop site the pillow has 4.7/5 stars from more than 17,000 reviews), I think this pillow delivers on its promises and more.

Roku offers a number of products, but right now you can pick up the 2024 Roku Ultra for just $1 more than the lowest price we've seen. Currently down to just $80 on Amazon, that saves you $20 on this remote and streaming box combo. The Roku Ultra is at the top end of Roku's lineup and has all the features you're likely to need from a streaming device. Those features include support for 4K streaming, not to mention HDR with Dolby Vision. There's also support for Dolby Atmos for those with compatible audio systems. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. That isn't all. This Roku Ultra comes with a rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro which does more than let you control what you're watching. Plug in the included earbuds to watch your favorite shows without disturbing others, making the Roku Ultra the perfect solution for late-night bedroom TV viewing. The remote also includes quick-launch buttons for popular streaming services like Netflix, Apple TV Plus, Prime Video and Paramount Plus. This deal is unlikely to stick around for long -- be sure to factor that into your buying decision before the price goes back up. Why this deal matters Regularly priced at $100, saving 20% on the cost of this combo streaming device is a decent savings. In his review of the Roku Ultra, editor Ty Pendlebury noted that this version has some upgrades over the previous model, most of them focused on the remote. At full price he found it a bit spendy, but at $80 it becomes much more of a contender. Last year during Black Friday sales, we saw the price dip to $79 -- a record low. If you don't want to wait it out to save a dollar, now is as good a time as any to upgrade. Looking for new content to enjoy on your new Roku Ultra? This Roborock Vacuum and Mop with Docking Station is Now 50% Off, But It's Worth at Least 3 Times This Price
Roborock has established itself as a premium brand within the robot vacuum space with most of its newer models now being offered at more than $1,000 and even some of its best-selling models being above $2,000. Despite this move towards luxury pricing, there are still fantastic deals to be found on units that are feature-rich and incredibly competent—products that were new two years ago and that are still leading the pack in home automation. Roborock Qrevo S is a great case in point, and it offers performance and ease of use equal to far more expensive options. Now, Amazon is offering the Qrevo S for an all-time low of only $459 which is a whopping 43% off its standard $799 list price. It's a bargain that's hard to resist if you're seeking premium cleaning power on a budget. See at Amazon 7,000Pa Suction Power The multi-functional docking station excels with a very hands-off experience for users: the dock automatically washes and dries the mop pads with hot air but it also cleans the robot's dustbin without assistance and refills its water tank as well with the capability to constantly mop areas measuring up to 4,305 square feet. That's seven weeks of hassle-free cleaning with the only upkeep required being the occasional draining of the dock's larger water and dust reservoirs. Its heavy-duty 7,000 Pa suction power is one of the strongest available on the market, and it is capable of pulling hair, dirt and dust out from deeply embedded carpets and hardwood and tile crevices. Its multi-directional floating brush minimizes hair tangling for continuous cleaning effectiveness even in pet- or long-haired-resident households. The vacuum comes with a cutting-edge 10mm auto mop raise mechanism which allows it to seamlessly transition between vacuuming carpets and mopping hard floors without leaving wet marks or dirty streaks. The performance in terms of mopping is equally impressive courtesy of dynamic dual spinning mops that work at a rate of 200 RPM. Combined with 30 adjustable levels of water flow, these mops allow you to customize cleaning intensity for different floor types remotely from the app. You enjoy spotless and streak-free floors that gleam like a pro after every pass. The Qrevo S comes equipped with advanced obstacle avoidance technology powered by PreciSense LiDAR navigation and 3D mapping.
