Copenhagen Municipal Council names most important square in capital "Palestine"

The Copenhagen Municipal Council, the Danish capital, approved a proposal to name the most important square in the capital "Palestine Square".
According to the Palestinian Safa Agency, the capital's Municipal Council discussed the proposal several times before it was approved in a meeting today, Friday, by a majority of 29 votes in favor of naming the square in the center of Norrebrogade between Norrebrogade Street, Esromgade Street, and Hillerødgade Street, as "Palestine Square", which will come into effect on April 1, 2025.
The Palestinian community in Denmark welcomed the decision of the Municipal Council.
The decision was considered an expression of the depth of Palestinian-Danish relations, and an affirmation of Denmark's positions in support of Palestine and the Palestinian people.
Members of the municipal council expressed their pride in this step, which comes as an expression of the Danish people's solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle, and their right to freedom, independence and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state.
