Microsoft is releasing several new AI features for Windows 11, including its Copilot Vision tool that can scan everything on your screen. The features, which are gradually rolling out to everyone now, also include tools that are exclusive to Copilot Plus PCs. For starters, all Windows 11 users can now access Copilot Vision through the Copilot app, which uses AI to analyze the content on your screen. With the tool, you can ask questions aloud about what you're seeing across multiple apps and webpages that are open on your screen. You can also ask it how to complete specific tasks on your computer, like how to improve the lighting on a photo. Microsoft first began testing a more limited form of this feature last year. Additionally, users with Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs can access an AI-powered 'agent' within the Settings app. This allows you to search for a specific setting with natural language, such as 'I want to enable quiet hours' or 'connect Bluetooth device.' If the agent is capable of carrying out the task, it will offer to complete it on your behalf. Microsoft is making its AI-powered 'Click to Do' preview more useful on Copilot Plus PCs, too. This feature, which surfaces when users hold down the Windows key and left-click on an app, text, website, or other piece of content, is designed to help you quickly complete actions, like summarizing a highlighted paragraph. As part of its update, Microsoft is rolling out several new actions you can perform with Click to Do, including practicing reading fluency and pronunciation with its Reading Coach tool, drafting a document in Microsoft Word using Copilot, and scheduling a Teams meeting. Click to Do lets you quickly perform actions, like summarize text. Image: Microsoft Other features coming only to Copilot Plus PCs include a new AI-powered sticker generator in Paint and an object select tool in the app that lets you separate and edit specific parts of an image. There's also a new AI lighting option available in Photos for Snapdragon-equipped Copilot Plus PCs, along with a 'perfect screenshot' tool within the Snipping Tool that uses AI to 'precisely capture content on your screen.' Copilot Plus PC users will find a new. AI object select tool in their Paint toolbar. Image: Microsoft Microsoft is also releasing some features that aren't related to AI across all Windows 11 PCs, including a handy color picker within the Snipping Tool and a new mechanism that allows PCs to automatically fix issues causing unexpected restarts. Microsoft says it will roll out all of these features 'over the next month.' Some of them are already available in Windows' new non-security preview update and as updates that you can download in the Microsoft Store.

Signal Blocks Recall to Protect Chats on Windows 11

Encrypted messaging app Signal is taking a stand againstMicrosoft's controversial Recall feature on Windows 11, which captures screencontent for AI-assisted recall. In its latest update, Signal has enabled screensecurity by default to protect users' private conversations from being archivedby the system's 'photographic memory.' This update applies the same DRM technology used to blockscreenshots of Netflix or other protected content. While it effectively shieldsSignal chats from Recall's snapshots, it may unintentionally impact accessibilitytools, particularly screen readers. Fortunately, Signal has made the settingeasy to disable under Settings > Privacy > Screen Security. Developer Joshua Lund expressed frustration that it evercame to this workaround. He emphasised that: 'Operating system vendors like Microsoft need to ensure thatthe developers of apps like Signal always have the necessary tools and optionsat their disposal to reject granting OS-level AI systems access to anysensitive information within their apps.' Despite Microsoft delaying Recall's launch twice, thefeature rolled out last month without an API for developers to excludesensitive content from Recall's indexing. While Recall might help users locatepast conversations or images using vague descriptions, critics argue it createsserious privacy risks. Lund also pointed out that while Microsoft excludes privatebrowser windows by default and allows users with Copilot Plus PCs to manuallyexclude apps from Recall, that safeguard only works if users know how toconfigure it. For now, Signal is relying on available tools to protect itsusers. As Lund stated: 'Signal is using the tools that are available to us, even though we recognise that there are many legitimate use cases where someone might need to take a screenshot.' The privacy-first platform is prioritising user security, even if it means compromising some features along the way.

Picture a workplace where accidents are prevented before they occur, hazardous conditions are instantly flagged, and employee well-being is monitored in real time. Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation, this vision is increasingly becoming reality. In observance of World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has published a report titled Revolutionising Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalisation at Work. In 2024, India's Apple App Store ecosystem facilitated Rs 44,447 crore in billings and sales, according to a report released by Apple and based on a study led by Professor Viswanath Pingali of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. The report highlighted that more than 94 per cent of the billings and sales through the App Store in India went directly to developers, with Apple taking no commission. Think back to the 2013 movie Elysium, where a robotic machine cured a critically ill patient in seconds. That science fiction scenario could soon edge closer to reality, with robots performing surgeries—one of the most intricate and demanding tasks traditionally managed by humans. 'Robots will surpass good human surgeons within a few years and the best human surgeons within ~5 years,' billionaire Elon Musk stated in a post on X.;' Apple is reportedly undecided about making its 'e' series model a regular part of its annual lineup, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. To recap, the technology giant surprised consumers by unveiling the iPhone 16e, expanding the iPhone 16 series to five models. The iPhone 16e launched in 2025, separate from the main iPhone 16 models released in September 2024. Therefore, the successor to the iPhone 16e may not debut alongside the iPhone 17 series, although this does not definitively rule out the existence of a future iPhone 17e model. Apple Intelligence offers a promising beginning—showcasing the company's determination to catch up while staying true to its core strengths. Although the execution is not flawless, it remains distinctively Apple, prioritizing integration and user experience over experimental risks. The real challenge will be how swiftly Apple can advance these features through upcoming platform updates. Microsoft Copilot Plus PCs to get Recall, Click to Do, more features soon

Microsoft has announced that it will soon roll out three new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features for its Copilot Plus PCs: Recall, Click to Do, and improved Windows Search. Recall, which initially debuted with the Copilot Plus PC platform, was withdrawn due to security and privacy concerns raised by early testers. It is now set to return alongside additional AI-driven enhancements. Microsoft claims these updates will deliver unmatched AI experiences. Microsoft Copilot Plus PCs: What's new In a blog post, Microsoft confirmed that more AI capabilities are coming to Copilot Plus PCs. The new features include Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and improved Windows Search. Recall (Preview) Recall helps users quickly rediscover apps, websites, images or documents by retracing their digital activity. Designed to simplify the process of locating past work or browsing sessions, Recall allows users to scroll through a timeline or search using simple descriptions, reducing retrieval time by up to 70 per cent, according to Microsoft. This feature operates locally on the device, with strong privacy controls in place to ensure data remains secure, encrypted, and never shared with Microsoft or third parties. Click to Do (Preview) Click to Do offers quick, contextual shortcuts for actions such as summarising, rewriting, copying text or editing images directly from the screen. It can be activated by pressing 'Win' + 'Click', swiping right on touchscreens, or using icons in tools like Start and Snipping Tool. This feature streamlines workflows by allowing users to interact with content instantly. Image-related actions are already available, while text actions are initially rolling out to Snapdragon X series devices, with support for AMD and Intel devices to follow. Improved Windows Search The improved Windows Search enables users to find images, documents or settings by describing them in natural language, without needing to recall exact file names. Powered by a local neural processing unit (NPU), it delivers faster, more intuitive results by understanding context, reducing search time by up to 70 per cent compared to traditional Windows 10 search methods. How to get these features These exclusive features for Copilot Plus PCs are included in the April 2025 Windows non-security preview update. Microsoft will begin rolling them out over the next month. The company stated: 'We will be gradually rolling out these new features via controlled feature rollout (CFR) to consumers.'
