Meath GAA anthem called 'Song of the Summer' ahead of All-Ireland semi-final

A Meath GAA parody cover has been playfully branded the 'song of the summer' while opposition fans have jokingly taken less kindly to the viral clip. Donal Bowens and Kilmainhamwood Chairperson Richard Corbally teamed up to make a parody song to the tune of Chappell Roan's HOT TO GO! as excitement continues to grow in the Royal County. Meath meet Donegal this Sunday in what is their first appearance in the final four since 2009, and the county is throwing their full weight behind the team. Corbally and Bowens penned HOT FOR MEATH! and went to ridiculous efforts filming all around the county, including at Pairc Tailteann and inside Jack Kiernan's famous shoe and sports gear shop with the renowned shopowner even featuring in the video himself. And instead of singing H-O-T-T-O-G-O, Corbally has opted for M-A-T-T Costello instead. It is safe to say the song got some mixed reviews. Royal County fans called it the 'song of the summer' and an 'instant classic,' while those outside of Meath joked they would be throwing their full support behind Donegal after hearing the song. Meath are rank outsiders for this Sunday's clash after being the unexpected story of the summer, finding their way to the final four. Robbie Brennan got off to a quick start in the league before missing out on promotion by a single point. Since then, it has been a dreamlike summer for the Royals as they ended Dublin's stranglehold on the Leinster Championship before narrowly losing the final to Louth. The Royals would bounce back by topping a tricky group consisting of Cork, Roscommon and Kerry and beat the Kingdom by nine points. The upsets got bigger with a shock win over Galway in Croke Park in the quarter-finals to earn themselves a final-four spot. Standing in their way are Ulster Champions Donegal, who are heavily favoured to win the match.
