Crews tackle fire at abandoned Newquay hotel
Crews are tackling a fire at an abandoned hotel in people have been asked to keep windows and doors closed because of a "large smoke plume", Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) fire, at the site of the former Narrowcliff Hotel near Tolcarne beach, was reported at about 16:15 BST on said multiple crews were expected to be on the scene for a "prolonged period of time" and people should stay away from the area. Narrowcliff has been closed between Ulalia Road and Hilgrove Road roundabout.

Firefighters are tackling a large waste fire that has broken out at a landfill Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the incident at Lean Quarry in Horningtops, near Liskeard, at about at 05:30 residents have been warned to keep their windows and doors closed, due to a large smoke plume. They have also been urged to avoid nearby roads.A spokesperson for the fire service said crews will be at the site "for a prolonged period", while it deals with the blaze.

Combine harvester fire sparks rail chaos in Cornwall
A combine harvester fire has spread to surrounding fields and closed the main railway line in and out of Fire and Rescue Service said it had received multiple 999 calls reporting the blaze near crews from Liskeard, Lostwithiel, Callington and Bodmin were at the scene, supported by water carriers from Liskeard and Wadebridge. Due to the fire's proximity to the railway, train services in the area were halted. The fire service said the line would remain closed until it was deemed safe to reopen it. Train operator GWR confirmed that all lines were blocked near between Par and Plymouth were particularly affected, with delays and cancellations likely, it are advised to check for updates before travelling and to expect significant disruption while emergency services work to bring the fire under control, it added.

Seven fire engines dealing with house fire in Bodmin
A fire has been reported at a house in Cornwall with seven fire engines attending the scene. According to Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, the blaze started at a property in the St Tudy area of Bodmin some time before 11:45 BST on Tuesday. Crews from Bodmin, Delabole, St Austell, Padstow, Liskeard and St Austell have attended. A spokesperson for the fire service advised nearby residents to keep doors and windows closed.
